  • Hey everyone,
This video is a little rougher than my tutorial videos, less editing and a little more ramble so let me know how you get on with it.
Im this episode of Lets Talk Eve #1I discuss how I find trades within Eve Onlines market, what I look for and how I find items to trade/build, what I think about regarding market trading. I also discuss when you should not be buying into the market and the why.
How everyday playing Eve can help you find profits that you hadn't thought about. We look at a few blueprints that can be straight traded on the market, some triglavian abyssal items that Ive found good easy profit on. Also some of the pitfalls from other players experiences.

Hi All, nothing ground breaking in this video. Its a rather raw video with very little editing as its not a tutorial. Just me explaining a few things and how I sometimes find things to trade ect and some things that people have mentioned that I thought it worth sharing. Thanks and as always any feedback welcomed.

Another way to identify npc orders are that they all run over 90 days which is the max for player orders

Ha I have never noticed that! thats for pointing it out

Yeah 365 days for npc buy & sell order expirations. Players can't do that.

I find one thing that helps also is to pay attention to any new events ccp put's out, just like this arena one. Build up some of the ships and standard mods for it ahead of time. Seed your market hubs with a few a bit overpriced, while having more there to be able to put on the market fast, when they sell put a few more on a bit higher, rinse and repeat till your getting undercut hard then drop to a decent price and watch them fly off the shelf.
With that watch what people are flying in the twitch streams and you tube vids, as that will cause a spike. Just like this video the items Strange Net talked about are going to have a higher volume trade for next few days.

Yes indeed they are very handy for sources of information. TBH I didnt expect the proving grounds to be so popular so had dismissed them some what as I gimmick. I dont think I have enough sway at the moment to be moving much but who knows in time. Thanks great comment and some great info.

@@strange_Net It doesn't take much, just being on and watching a little. Yack in help chat and such while watching markets. Video's are way more of a tool than you are thinking, one labeled marketing will get traffic, that and fitting.

Before I forget, as an adage that you mentioned that also applies to manufacturing, for about a week (a long time ago) there were certain rigs that were selling at a high volume/price...I did a large build and moved them to market, the first 4 or 5 sales made crazy money but then it literally went cliff diving. Items that take 70 MIsk to manufacture that were selling for 100 MIsk dropped to 55MIsk.
While technically you still have an asset, over-producing an item that is on the downward trend is just as bad as a horrible buy.
Anyways, just wanted to mention that.
And in closing, I wanted to say that this is a great channel and is very helpful to Eve players, both old and new.
    All the best.
    Cheers.

Good info... The market was always one the most fascinating aspects of Eve to me. Some of this learned the hard way and some of it I never had quite figured out, so thanks for that. I always bogged down trying to find items to trade. Another pain was the old .01 isk game - I was always cash poor, so I needed to sell quickly and was constantly fiddling w/ the order price. Regardless, appreciate all your videos - learned tons.

just a quick addition - you seem to spot npc buy/sell orders by the sales pattern. a quicker way: everything with a remaining time on the order > 90 days is NPC. they usually put their orders(buy and sell) with a 1 year time

Taxes, perhaps one of the most overlooked factors in trading. If you are already dealing with low margins, it's fairly easy to go into the red column without even realizing it.
Normally I build everything I sell, but occasionally I dabble in speculation, unfortunately for me it has been very hit or miss.
What hurts the most is when you're that guy that buys or sells right when the market for that item tanks or soars.
The old adage "If there wasn't bad luck, I'd have no luck at all." ;-)
    Cheers.

It's worthy to point out that those rapid light missile launchers II's have now calmed down to a baseline low, and now would be a good investment to buy them for the long term, or if the spread is good enough, which it looks like it is 864K buy 1065k sell is a ~18% profit spread not taking into account fees & taxes. And likely movement for your 864,000 investment is you sell them for 1.5M each in the future. Unlike that player who was excited for picking them up at 3M, he really should have been horrified. Glad you were there to mend his ways.

Yea with the falling price of RLM now is a decent time to be stocking up. The advise for the guy who brought them at 3m was sell sell sell! Hopefully he learnt from the mistake which in the long run will be worth far more than the ISK he lost. Hopefully 😀

hi is there a way to avoid tryglavian space when transporting goods as i nearly lost my freighter passing through yesterday when i went to pick something from a station just the other side of the combat zone . can you research items you capture in combat and turn them into blueprints to sell. love your vids i have picked a lot up from them keep up the great work

Any reason you are selling to traders for less than you could sell to NPC's. Also, when I first started manufacturing I was flying a Raven so decided to make missiles, at first just for myself, but quickly realised that I could get a good price on missiles pretty constantly. My biggest problem with them was finding rocket fuel at decent prices. Luckily at the time I also had a shedload of salvage so made quite a killing on rigs.

Hey not sure if you found out anything useful yet. Ammo was always a good early money maker for me. Get some blue print copies of ammo that's selling well in the nearest hub or something and make those. Recently, with the "mineral shortage" they implemented, prices on minerals are going up, so may not be as good as it used to be, but ammo is consumable and always in demand. Also I'd stay away from ships for a while. Margins are usually low
