    From Austin City Limits, I remember seeing this made me a Delbert fan for life, still buying his music. Classic!

    My very first exposure to the Cate Brothers. Out of the gate, the bass and overall driving rhythm section are amazing! 👍 No cover charge. Thanks for this show!

    This is before I knew Delbert but it’s fun watching him from so many years ago. Same voice, same face and same thrill listening to him ❤❤❤

    Loved the Cate Bros back in the day but didn't really appreciate what a smokin' hot band they were too. Great footage of Delbert and the boys in concert. Many thanks for sharing this.

    I was lucky enough to see Delbert McClinton perform in a nearby club in in a college town, while the late Don Wise was still playing sax! Super fun shows! ❤️

    Saw the Cate bros. with Levon Helm in Montreal twice. The first time it was at the McGill auditorium and the second it was at a club on the West Island called Mapes I think. They were 3 feet away form me on stage the size of a drumset! Played just like they were for 10,000! Grateful to have lived to see all this talent so close up. Glad to hear the Cate Bros. are still playing. My old band used to cover Union Man!

    Thanks for uploading this! I'm 31...and sad to say one of the few people of my generation that love Delbert...I've been trying to find any video footage of Delbert pre '81 but it's tough...so thanks! The Cate Brothers always deliver too!

    In 1985 a friend showed me the 145 progression on a bass and many good times came of that. He also gave me a Cate Brothers album. When I heard Yield not to temptation I was so taken that it helped me to understand what playing in the pocket means. Wonderful ! As for Delbert what can I say ? Simply Amazing !

    I love that there's some little kid on rhythm guitar. Who did he grow up to be? Also I love Take It Easy in G! I sing it in Bb like on the album with my band but this would be much easier to cut that vocal in.

      The youngest 'member' of the band is probably Delbert's son, Clay.

      I hear ya, Freak. I once saw Bob Seger at a local VFW hall. There were about two dozen folks there. I was standing close enough to shake his hand. Sometimes ya gotta pay yer dues.

      I got to see him in Glenwood Springs, Co in the early 90' s. That night I "tried out" in the crowd and got to get up and sing with him. Wish I could remember which one. I've got it on cassette, Ha! Saw them outside Portland, Or at an outdoor concert in the late 90's. Probably in Springfield, Mo, as I saw tons of greats who came through if Chicago was on their curcuit.

    Someone asked about who is the sax player. Is it Don Wise?

    • @gonzalotrevino4733
      @gonzalotrevino4733 6 лет назад +4

      Sax player is Robert Harwell, Ronnie Cobb on keys, Billy Sanders on guitar, and I think Randy Keen on the other sax. All from Fort Worth. The drummer is Ernie Durawa from San Antonio.
