Mists at Dawn - Explaining the Crosswork of Christ
Просмотров 27Месяц назад
Shifting gears this week, I've uploaded a video presentation from my time spent in the Seventh Day Adventist church. I was a member for 13 years and met some good people there but I no longer subscribe to the SDA doctrines or beliefs. This video, though it was filmed at an SDA church, focuses not on their doctrines but on the basic Christian message of the crosswork of Christ. A bit long at 60 ...

The Gospel We Preach - Grace School of the Bibe.
What a heavenly voice!
Only the truth can make you free. If you still sin, You are still a servant of sin, In captivity to it. Jesus can free those who are in captivity, but you have to believe the Word.
Unfortunately, as long as we are in these carnal bodies of flesh, we will continue to sin. The good news is that Jesus HAS freed us from captivity. We revel in our spirt at the marvelous gift He has provided for us and await our freedom from these vile temples of flesh. Amen and amen! ..... Romans 7:24-25.
@ no, a believer is not in the flesh: Rom 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. If you still sin, You are still a servant of sin. Jhn 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. Do you still sin Andrew?
Yes, absolutely. And so do you. Are you still living in a body of "flesh"? Or have you transcended into the spirit realm? As Paul says in the text you cited, "they that are in the flesh cannot please God." He also says, in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”. None of us can please God. Our works, no matter how much we would like to believe, are "as filthy rags" to a holy God. The question is, do I want to sin? The answer is of course not. Paul says "God forbid!" We should try NOT to sin. But, try as we may, our carnal bodies are enemies to God. Only the renewed spirit man inside of us can change our ways and allow God to work in us to do His will. Understanding who God has made us through the cross work of Christ allows us to live in our new nature - one in Christ and no longer in Adam. Also, to use the quote from Jesus to substantiate your claim that "if you still sin, you are still a servant of sin" was a pre-cross text when man was still under the Law. Jesus freed us from the Law, gave us the gift of grace and salvation (at no cost to us) and freed us from the servitude of sin. Now, we serve the sin bearer, Jesus, who died for all.
@@andrewbarbantini717 Rom 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. Paul says here “when ye were the SERVANTS OF SIN, ye were free from righteousness”. Can you tell me how do you know who is a “servant of sin”?
@@LibertyinChrist01 Sure can. Anyone who has not accepted the free gift of salvation is still a servant of sin. They are still living in their old nature - the nature of Adam. They have no righteousness. Once one accepts the gift of salvation they become one in Christ and have His righteousness. (Romans) 20: For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21: What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22: But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Paul is telling the believers that they are now "servants to God", no longer bound by the curse of sin. When he says they are "free from sin" he means the curse and bondage of sin (context). He never tells them they won't sin again. He, himself struggled with the issue of sin. (see Romans Chapter 7).

Ahhh, the memories 😊. Takes me back to my early days in the faith.
Jimmy Lynn’s guitar tone is as stunning as his guitar playing.
Eddie was so unique . He has a one of a kind voice and he’s a great musician along with the band too of course. The crowd were just sitting down when they started playing but by the end of the gig they were up and singing. Good to see. 🩵✨🙏🏼🎙️
Latest update: As of 11/23/24, the Calvary Church that moved into the old Chormann School has established itself in the community. Now 7 years at this location, the church has made many upgrades to the building and surroundings which is good for the community. My original plan was to request an opportunity to enter the premises and do a little video on the changes they made to the interior. Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen as I have been banned from the church. What, you say? What could have possibly caused a Christian church to ban someone from entering their building? Why, that sounds like the opposite of what Christians are supposedly known for. But I am living proof that this church, for all they may claim to "support the community" and "love Jesus", is merely a whited sepulchre, which indeed appears beautiful outward, but is within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. (Matthew 23:27) Executive Pastor, Dan Russell, was the "heavy" who did the dirty work. I was told I wasn't in agreement with their "church doctrines" and I would have to leave a bible study I was attending - a study which I was invited to and was enjoying. The culprits for this humiliating dismissal were a husband and wife couple who didn't agree with my interpretation of scripture and my refusal to accept theirs. So, no further updates will be made to this post. I'll leave you with this quote from a noted Christian writer: "Quite frequently the members of one denomination, who have their established denominational program, are ungraciously intolerant with the members of another denomination, whose denominational creed and practices differ in some details, even though the members of both denominations may agree as to the inspiration of the Scriptures, the eternal Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, salvation by faith in Christ’s redemptive work and in other fundamental doctrines."
I believe I was the last kindergarten class at Chormann. I remember burying a time capsule and have no idea how my class and i would get to open that.
I had the thought of returning and doing a follow up on the building now that a church has taken up residence there. Unfortunately, I was invited to a bible study by my neighbor who is a church member there. I attended for a couple months and things seemed to be going fine but a couple who started coming to the study didn't like me and had me evicted. An associate pastor showed up one night at the study and said I was no longer welcome there and I had to leave. So much for the Christian spirit. I doubt they'd let me back inside to update my video.

Excellent. Now to get pastors to watch and implement!
What song is at 27:26 ???
The song is "Going Back to New York" and was written by Ronnie Montrose. I have been unable to find it on any recording, either by Eddie Money or Ronnie Montrose or his band, Montrose. Also, I haven't found any information on the song. ruclips.net/video/BbKRQPlHico/видео.html
@andrewbarbantini717 cheers for that, really wish there was a studio recording off it. It's sounds awesome!

Now that's what I call a standing oblation.
Someone invited me to see Eddie Money live in concert in the late 90s or early 2000s, and being the metal head that I was and still am, I told them no, I'm good. Then I thought about it, and I wasn't doing anything else that night, and I love live music, so I said sure. I wasn't expecting to like the show that much, but I ended up having a great time, and he was really, really good.
I loved that school, Only there K( Ms Davenport ) and 1st then moved to Pheasant Run, Jack Downing school built beside the missle site
Mr Money was one of the greatest American song writers and performers ever, this was the soundtrack of my teenage years. R. I. P. Eddie.
This is before I knew Delbert but it’s fun watching him from so many years ago. Same voice, same face and same thrill listening to him ❤❤❤
I have a recording of this through the radio, one of my favorites
I have this on CD - This is a legendary obscure live show that can't be matched - an all-timer go to get down!!
Thanks Andrew for this
It was my pleasure.
My very first exposure to the Cate Brothers. Out of the gate, the bass and overall driving rhythm section are amazing! 👍 No cover charge. Thanks for this show!
I was lucky enough to see Delbert McClinton perform in a nearby club in in a college town, while the late Don Wise was still playing sax! Super fun shows! ❤️
After hearing that rehearsed for 24 years, it is just as exciting and glorious as it was back then, and now even more !
Pastor Richard Jordan is a true ambassador for the Lord.

Amazing‼️ RIP ❤🙏
It was 1977 and Jimmy Lyon’s guitar sound when I was 13 was like the greatest thing I ‘d ever heard at that time. I asked my mom if I could see Eddie Money at the Cleve Public Hall with Santana, Gary Wright. Baby hold on, one of my favorite songs.
Love this much, listen to you guys all the time love your album. Big up from ja🇯🇲

Andrew, how’ve you been?
Not bad for an old guy. How about you? Still attending the Oakwood Church in Taylor? Hope your day is filled with blessings.

@@sendowla I moved to Southgate in 2015 after my mom died. So, I'm living in the house I grew up in back in the 1960's and 1970's. Kind of strange but it's a place to stay so I'm okay with it. Just living the life of an old retired guy. Mostly just a recluse. I keep to myself and don't get out much. I'm no longer an SDA member or church goer - just a plain old Bible student.
