FYI: Johnny was an albino so hence the white hair and fair skin. He wasn't particularly fond of this period in his career cause his first true love was the Blues and he has some of the best blues tunes ever. If you like his slide playing check out "Mojo Boogie"

He has a lot of great tunes. Rock Me Baby, Roll With Me, Mojo Boogie, Mean Town Blues are a few. He is from Texas, as are a LOT of great bands and musicians including ZZTop, Stevie Ray Vaughn and his brother Jimmy Vaughn, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, even Steve Miller, and the one who influenced them all and more, Les Paul.
Another good slide guitar player, though probably not as hot a player is George Thorogood, listen to Delaware Slide by George T. He plays with a different slide tone, but very dirty gritty sound. Sounds like he has strings made of sandpaper and a slide made of gravel!

His second album and first album on Columbia was pure blues from a pure white guy who happened to be albino. From that album's liner notes; "Johnny plays basic blues. Color them black. Real black and nothing else. Color them black black. Johnny looks white. Color him white. Real white and nothing else. " Whether you react to any one of the tunes on that excellent album or just listen for your own sake, I'm confident you'll enjoy it. Oh man, Corey, you stepped in it now. Johnny and his brother Edgar are two extremely talented individuals. There is a song they both play together on called Tobacco Road. It's a blues cover and these guys knocked it out of the county with this one. Edgar is a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist, IDK if Johnny is or he's a wizard on the guitar only, but it will blow your socks off. I wish you and your cousin could watch it together. What is his name, btw? I left you a link to the live performance.

Check out the live Be Careful With a Fool video floating around to see his full magnificent blues playing.
