Really appreciate these videos, just came across them yesterday and I am definitely in the category of 'advice monster'. While I do agree with a lot of the points mentioned, I don't quite agree with the 'you' and 'I' part, because a lot of the time, applying 'you' to the situation causes a lot of assumptions to be made, if the person doesn't have a lot of experience with conversation. Which is why context is important. It can be a little easier to relate a situation to yourself in a way to get them to relate. "You are doing this thing inefficiently." vs "I did this, and this is the way I learned how, and it helps me out." So the focus is on the changes you've made in yourself, so others might apply it in their own way, instead of pushing them to use the advice. But that's me applying these lessons to everyday conversations instead of sales. And another way to get to the same outcome is the 'If I were in your shoes' part that he talks about in the video. I look forward to seeing more!
