Iowa doesnt let players start on merit, they let players start on their academic class , even if your all american soph, a regular senior will start ahead of them

@jordanplays2065 to put it simply, upper classmen, seniors, in the program are given the start. Then, over a few plays, they'll rotate over to these guys who have the upper level talent. Hope that explains the lack of starts.

There are different measurables of strength then just bench press. He blew Paris Johnson Jr and others of the line. Speed plus burst.
