NFL Draft 2022: Chris Simms' top 5 edge rushers | Chris Simms Unbuttoned | NBC Sports
/ nbcsports
Chris Simms is the only evaluator I really respect, actually does his own analysis, has real thoughts and doesn’t just push or pull a narrative without having a real opinion
Love the pod listen all the time. Little something maybe to improve would be while you are talking about these players, play some highlights in the background of them. I know it is a pod, but for those of us who watch it would be cool to watch while you explain! You guys are great and thanks for the content !
Copy right infringement my dude. He’s not trying to get all his videos taken down. He’s too high up in RUclips. Lower content creators can get away with it, he cannot
My Broncos got Chris's #5 Nik Bonitto, I absolutely love his analysis.I can't believe he fell in our lap at pick #64 holy sh!t.
Love it cuz he’s on your team. Blind fans are a joke
Im not surprised he doesn't have Kayvon. He isn't Simms's type of player profile he usually really likes.
Nik Bonitto ahead of KT ??? No disrespect to Bonitto , but KT is a top 3 player in this draft !
Yup, he's correct KT is overrated.
@@Goodsense215 because you have an expert opinion right
The Kayvon dropping in the draft might just end up happening
Wow, no Kayvon
I hope Joe Douglas is watching this
Travon Walker has great combine measurables and Georgia's defense was not highlighting his pass rushing skills. But given his speed and cone score he may be great as a linebacker/3 rd down rusher like Micha Parsons but bigger. Sounds like he needs to develop edge rush techniques. That being said, he's too tempting to pass up in top 5.
Hmmm. Walker doesn't look good to me. Vernon gholston popped like this. His tape doesn't show anything hardly so how can you draft that?
Wow, no Kayvon, I kinda see Kayvon and Stingley in the same perspective, questions about giving their 100% every play…
Stingley got elite elite physical traits. Theyvjust have not manifested itself in play the last 2 seasons. KT doesn't have those. He just living off highschool hype. Players like him are lika Viagra for Area Scouts.
Every mock Draft I see has Karlaftis going in the middle to late 1st Round.
Simms knowledge is out of this 🌎!!!
You must be joking
You are right . Because no logical thinking person would have KT out of the top 5. Literally for views and controversy. He’s knows the truth.
Thibodeaux not in top 5? WTF?
Exactly!!😳
No Kayvon. Simms has some explaining to do
Simms you should do DE and Edge Seperate
They aren’t separate it’s dependent on scheme if they’re serperate or not
@@losauce521 Right and half the teams don't need a 260pd or less DE, and the other half don't need a 270-290Lb 3-4 Edge
Please. Make more weird frantic noises instead of words. Onomatopoeia is fun
Deangelo Malone is a sleeper. Understand the Kayvon omission. Might be boom/bust.
Travon falls to 8 and I’ll be ecstatic
He falls to 1
Great vid- I think simms gave them watt as a comp for every guy lol
he what he on
Pepper to Power
No Ojabo?
Is every DE prospect TJ Watt like?
Apparently
TJ has so many abilities and is so universally good you can easily comp guys to some of TJ’s abilities.
He said that about 1 prospect. You acting like he said it about everyone 🤦♂️
Simms best since Madden. Addicted to his words.
A bumbling fool
Leaving off the Oregon kid? He more like STEVE MADDEN.
Dude fell for a reason not just him but mel kiper mock draft said he boom or bust too
I'm a bug fan if bonnitto but he's mocked for middle of the 2nd despite being dominant
Mocks don't actually matter at all. Hes gonna be a first round pick
@@flybobbyfly no he wasn’t and not even close
@@estuardodacaret How do you now if it was close?
@@flybobbyfly no one in the first rd will take a 3rd down situational pass rusher, more likely he’ll be available in the 3rd rd than be taken in the 1st
@@estuardodacaret They took Kayvon and hes a 3rd down specialist
Chris Simms is the best talent evaluator in the media. Period! He has me worried now about the Jets taking Olave and Wilson at #10. He doesn’t have either in his top 5 WRs. I’m really curious about what he says is his top 5 edge rushers in the above film.
Jermaine and Jameson!!! LGJ!
Kayvon not even being in the top 5 makes this the dumbest list of all time. He's the best edge prospect in the draft.
You a scout with extensive knowledge? Or did you play in the league? Have contacts in the league? oH. Cuz Chris does.
Why am I guessing that you didn't watch his pod cast, and have no idea what he said about the other guys....
@@jackh577 probably. He states exact reasons why he puts the others ahead of KT. Chris, like his father, are both detailed in how they describe player’s bodies. Both Phil and Chris have appeared on WFAN and talk about guys waists and “seats.” I’m thinking it goes Hutch, TW, Ickey, JJ now
@David Hamilton Yup. Kayvon has the best mix of power and speed of any edge in this class. Karlaftis and Hutchinson have more raw power, Drake Jackson has more speed, but Kayvon has a great mix of both. He's by far the most polished in the class with a good number of rushing moves for a college player, and he has terrific bend off the edge. He also plays well in space so the speedy QBs like Murray or Jackson won't get by him as easily. The "takes plays off" talking point is weak. Anyone that watched the film saw a good motor. Maybe not the best, but solid. Him going outside oft he top 3 would be insane and I'd take him number 1 overall.
@@jackh577 Nope, this guy clearly hasn't watched the tape.
The Longhorns aren't exactly stiff competition boys. Iowa State dominates that's school in football now. Get serious.
Where does Bonito fit tho, gonna have a hard time setting an Edge in the Nfl at 230. He's a Bruce Irvin type to me. He will get destroyed in a 3-4 in
the run on the Edge. So he's a situational pass rusher there like Irvin was coming in. The 4-3 he's a Olb and sub for DE in a wide 9. Great talent but it's about fit. Bears 4-3 will want 220pd guys who can cover in pass. So in that type of 4-3 he's a Sub. The 4-3 Minnesota used to run, having Barrs at Lolb in that 4-3 or a Wide 9 DE like in Seattle or Dallas. Because all that, I got Bonito falling to the 3rd, even if he is a top 50 player.
He came in heavier at the combine
@@HimuraBattousai98 ok so he's hoping to be a 3-4 Edge...Gonna be hard for him to not pass rush and just hold a giant Lt inside so that a RB can't get around the edge. That's what setting a edge means idk if ya knew. Seen greats get lit up. Quinn before this last year. All Pro and had trouble setting a 3-4 edge
He’s literally over 245? That’s quite normal for an edge
@@losauce521 scouting reports through college have had his playing weight at 220. Trust me if you was right he would be a Top 5 pick. The thing scouts worry about when a prospect does that is losing speed. I think he's Bruce Irvin so I'm not hating, just explaining why his stock may fall some. 240 is usually a inside LB in a 3-4 btw, Edge is around 260 up. Not saying guys can't do it. My guess is Seattle takes him in the 2nd or 3rd.
@@knowledgeuntamed9177 Robert Mathis and dwight freeney did fine in the nfl being undersize
If George has went to Ohio St, we arecalling him a Watt or Bosa like prospect. Joey Bosa is very similar. Anywhere between 10 and 40. Kerrigan is another good comp. Think Bears at 39 are his floor.
Travon walker could be like fletcher cox
No kt Sam Williams crazy
Jermaine Johnson might be 1B with Adian Hutchinson dude killed the senior bowl
jets
He said Levi Onwuzurike was ‘the best DT in the draft’ last year. I’m not listening to this hack!
Hutchinson did absolutely nothing against that Georgia Offense. He literally did nothing.
That’s fair but he took over against Ohio State. He won us that game with his sacks and the energy he plays with. He’s like JJ Watt where he can switch the momentum of a game with his energy.
@@justin8517 so he’s great against lesser talented offensive lines. That’s awesome.
Where was that energy when they needed him in the CFP? The big 10 is weak. Do you know what jermaine Johnson or Trayvon walker would have done against Big 10 teams? Hutchinson will be a bust. He’s not a watt.
@@justin8517 Hutchinson was easily blocked by the Michigan State TE. He is Mike Mamula 2.0 only without Mamula's production as an underclassman.
@@cliftongreene5318 troll
This will age very poorly. Chris is super biased
huh, you can predict the future?
No ur number 1 is so wrong kT is better!!!
Kayvon not being in the top 5 is absolutely nuts lol. Simms is on average a good evaluator . But he does have misses. (Zac Wilson chief amongst them lol)
Right? lol
I mean we’re a year into Zac Wilson it’s a little early
@@cordariusjohnson2601 It is early, but the concern is Wilson had a good o-line. Unless your targets are awful and you have zero run game, there's really no excuse for an NFL QB to struggle. But, he does have tantalizing talent.
There are a few QBs who are playing with 3rd stringers and practice squad guys and teams have already given up on them.
Since when is Chris Simms a scout? Last I remember he was a below average QB, please hire someone with real expertise.
@Jay Williams. What does his on field prowess have to do with his ability to analyze prospects? Michael Jordan was known as the absolute worst evaluator of talent in the history of the NBA.
How does your number 2 have a higher ceiling than your number 1? Make no since except Simms likes to plant seeds so he can say i told ya so....clueless
Physical tools. That's something you can't teach.
Trevon has a higher ceiling, Ad has a higher floor.
