Aye. Glad to see you moving up in the world, Marcus. And to the entire tfg community. Thank you for all the support yall have given me on twitter during my entire cancer journey. Appreciate everyone of you, specially you Marcus ❤❤
While I would personally flip Strong and Willis in the feeling lucky category, I think this is the best way I've seen this QB Class explained in all draft media so far (PFF, Major Outlets, Draft Network etc). Really love your work Marcus
That roadmap is one of the reasons you have some of the best draft content on RUclips. You look at all factors possible and don't just make takes in a vacuum. Keep up the great work!
25:36 i was gonna say if there's ever a QB where the phrase "an INT waiting to happen" applies there's gotta be a Jimmy G comp lmao, love the vids and can't wait for the rest of draft season.
Updates : Carson Strong - Retired (Wish him the best) Skylar Thompson - Career Backup Bailey Zappe - Career Backup Chris Oladukon - Practice Squad/USFL Guy. Matt Corrall - Out Of The League. Might not see him ever play a down of football again after the Pats practice incident. Desmond Ridder - Not NFL caliber. At best a 2nd or 3rd QB option. Sam Howell - has the attributes but his turnovers and his toxic qb traits will make him at best a bridge QB or a Placeholder in his career. Kenny Pickett - Carries the same generic negatives alot of college QBs carry to the pros that he’s yet to fix. Even if he hits his ceiling he’s at best an “Alex Smith” type of player which wont cut it in the AFC full of gunslingers. Brock Purdy - literally saved this from arguably being the worst QB draft of all time (it likely is anyway) and the fact that he was the last pick is just chefs kiss to this horrid group of QBs. Malik Willis - very raw and skiddish. Likely will be fighting for a spot on a roster pretty soon if he doesnt take strides forward. (Update): Howell,Pickett,Ridder were all traded to different teams who all had legitimate chances to earn there keep on their respective teams. The 2013 QB Draft and this draft are probably the worst in NFL history involving QBs. 2021 was probably the most disappointing.
@@MrBoboiscool He's got an average arm not amazing but not weak. Kyle also is a much smarter player than Carson and has shown to be able to move in the pocket and escape out of it if need be. We also spent a 2nd round pick on him so BA and co must like what they see from him.
Brock Purdy went to my high school, Perry High School, and I feel like he has some traits like his acceleration and his leadership that could be solid as a backup in today’s league.
Decision making by the QBs is something that is rarely mentioned. It is all about legs and arm strength. Brock purdy is a good decision maker and is 6 W to 0 L as an NFL QB.
This is the first time I have seen any of your vids but I think this is fantastic. Like how you have pretty accurate film to back up your analysis. Just subbed. Keep up the nice work mate.
carson strong had really good tape but a few weeks after this video serious medical and character concerns came out, and Marcus bumped him down about 6 spots
I think with a lot of these "traitsy" guys the big question is, are they willing put the work in and can the bad be coached out of them while learning the good. It's intelligence, work ethic, and coachability.
Carson Strong reminds me of a young Joe Flacco. Tough, big arm, a bit of a stationary statue but got that clutch thing about him. A team like the 2008-2010 Ravens would be ideal with a great defense and a dominant rushing attack to set up the deep play action. Colts are a team that fits that profile really well. The "he can't run thing" can be a bonus cause he doesn't leave throws in the pocket. Most athletic QBs do and bail on clean pockets. Strong will hang in there until a throw presents itself. Pickett and Willis took off and with a clean pocket ran way too often scrambling for 5 yds meanwhile a throw of 35 yards was avalible in the pocket.
Its funny to watch this with the benefit of hindsight. You said the Lions and Eagles are looking for greater things, and now at week 15, both Goff and Hurts were solid, the later being in the MVP race. As a 49ers fan, Im fully on the Purdy hype and think he has performed quite well. Zappe has been capable as well. Will be interesting to reevaluate this in another 5 years
@@loganthemaster2870 its a chance for you to compare them side by side. The only one who looked semi decent was malik wilis. The others looked like mitch tribusky 2.0
I totally agree, its about time someone recognizes Strong. He reminds me of a Josh Allen. Remember they said Allen was not as good because he was from a smaller school. I see Strong as the most accurate deep and strong arm.
As a big Desmond Ridder fan I'm happy that someone is rating him highly, the big knock I've seen is that he is inaccurate but a lot of young quarterbacks can work through that. I will say I think he has a little higher upside but I'm also very biased as a bearcats fan
Did you watch Skylar Thompson and Kaleb Eleby? I like them as that backup type guy, players who can bring some energy but who are simply too limited to make noise for a full season.
Awesome to finally see someone else than Schlegdaddy TV have Carson Strong as the nr1 QB. He is so underrated and his career in NFL depends a lot on his knees. If those are ok he will have a good career
Always great content man! Yeah to me it's really about the right fit too and that flowchart is basically what most of us are thinking. I think Pickett is the best QB to have thrown right into starting, so I feel Carolina will draft him @ #6. Willis is definitely the one I would take a shot with though the most. Once we get a more clear picture of what teams will go after when Free Agency ends, that should help define the order a little more.
@@ThatFranchiseGuy thanks for the reply. I just meant pinpoint the base schemes and whatnot. I've been working on an inside Zone esque scheme. Something similar to what the eagles do with hurts and sanders
Coming back to this, Desmond Ridder was absolutely a missed throw waiting to happen. His leading of the falcons this season was... less than desirable.
I think if Carson can stay healthy he will play similar to Herbert. Herbert is more athletic but doesn’t run much and Carson has great pocket presence so it’s a wash there. Arm talent, leadership, IQ, and Personality are all very similar!
For future ranking videos, can you put descriptions of the categories you're rating in the description? I know you have them in your old videos, it'd just be easier if they were here. Great content as always, can't wait for draft season
My favorite potential fit is Kenny Pickett… you get 3 southern teams in your division and get to play in a dome. If his hands were 9.5” I think he’s Joe Burrow. The hand size is a concern though. I would want to bring him in for private workouts with an NFL ball
Don’t think that video aged too well. I believe he had Mac jones at 5 and Zach Wilson at like 2. I’d go Mac, Trevor (terrible situation), David mills, probably Zach but he was not good as a starter, not enough on lance, field underwhelming.
Thanks for the content. I knew this would be really good before even watching. I appreciate your analysis and systematic approaches over hype and more speculative approaches. I think the Panthers are in the best position to take Howell or Willis based on your roadmap, since Darnold is under contract for one more season (no way he’s extended after that though). Willis will probably be like a raw Cam when he first gets to the league so Cam is probably the best mentor for him
I’m actually relieved to see someone else thinks Carson Strong has the best tape. ESPN hardly mentions him. I get it with injuries but man he reminds of a Josh Allen type QB
I love your honest detailed breakdown of these players! I think you are very kind by give each QB a few inches in height! This isn't a good QB class! The problem with sitting on a QB for years is that you cant make use of the rookie contract. I wouldn't draft a QB this year
As a saints fan I’m praying we get Pickett I know he comes with his issues but I don’t think it’s anything you can’t work around considering how talented he is
Regarding Pickett and hand size, that concern is real. I have 8.5 in hands and when I throw an NFL sized football in the rain or snow, I can barely throw 10-20 yards accurately. I know I'm not an NFL QB prospect like Pickett so the comparison obviously isn't 1 to 1 but I'd be concerned about his hand size at the next level.
10. Brock Purdy 9. Kaleb Eleby 8. D'Eric King 7. Sam Howell 6. Levi Lewis 5. Matt Corral 4. Bailey Zappe 3. Malik Willis 2. Carson Strong 1. Kenny Pickett I would put D'Eric King, Matt Corral and Carson Strong higher but they have injury concerns.
Do you think the Vikings taking Purdy in the late rounds would be a good fit? I think he’d work well in the Shanahan system and could learn some things behind Kirk
Patrick Mahomes bailed from clean pockets as often as Kenny Pickett in college. That can be coached up. Pickett is a legit prospect. I think he's top 10 worthy... except I'm worried about his hand size. I usually think that's nonsense, but sub-9" hands is a real concern. I have small hands and it's really hard to sling the ball if you can't hold it.
Keep up the hard work my guy and stay on youtube. Not many ppl doing what your doing on here. Btw im a Philadelphia Eagles fan. I like Jalen Hurts and wanna give him time to develop and see if he can be our guy. But i would not be mad if we took Your # QB 1- Strong in the 2nd round.
