Laura, Laura, Laura! If I were close enough to you; and covid wasn't here, I would hug your precious neck and hold-on for a long time!!! Thank you so much. I've been using my domestic Husqvarna Viking and have struggled for so long buying pantographs, then using dressmaking pattern tissue paper, spreading out the pantograph and coping the design onto the tissue paper. Then attaching paper to my quilt and sewing over the tissue paper. Removing the paper when finished. Do you realize just what you have done for me? I'm talking about all queen size quilts for my 40 grands/great-grands. I have only completed 23 quilts but have 17 more to complete. I have followed you for ??? years and always been gratefull for your teaching and help but, Lady, you certainly made my day with this tutorial. I will research the other one you suggested. Thank you sincerely, Sarah Leigh C
Holy moly, Laura! It must take A LOT of practice to get t your level of quilting! I love your pace of instruction, and your soothing voice. Thank you for sharing 👍🏻😃
Note to self, when using my phone and I search Urban Elements, I have to click in the upper right hand corner and choose desktop site and I'm able to find the free designs. Thank you Laura for sharing this website
Omgoodness Laura, this is sewwww cool👏👏 I really appreciate you and the fact that you share your knowledge.! Your presentation is always fantastic! Thank you ❤️😀
Do you have a video on marking dark backing or heavily printed backing fabrics? Also do you have a video showing how to wash out the lines? Do you soak the whole top or just rub with a damp cloth or maybe just mist with a spray bottle?
You make things look so easy! I am a new quilter. I have only been quilting a year. I am just now to the point that my seams don’t look like a road map. I will give this a go. Thanks for the tutorial.
Debbie, I was wondering if it would work by using an old needle with no thread to stitch holes in the paper panto and then use a pounce pad to mark the darker fabrics. Thoughts?
@@sheilacraft5027 That’s certainly something to try! I just need to make sure my machine can handle stitching without thread (I would keep getting error messages). Thanks for the suggestion!
I was wondering about using dress makers carbon paper. Comes in many colors. You would also have to tape to back of pantograph. I first have to track the carbon paper down. Do they even make it any more? Use to be the same size as a piece of paper. Let the hunt begin. Thanks for sharing your talent.🥰
Great video! I have several purchased and free downloaded pantographs from Urban Elementz. I have a Baby lock Coronet long arm machine and love using pantographs on my quilts. I like the idea of marking the backing of the quilt. I’ll have to give that a try. Thank you!
Thank you for the link to these designs. Do you have any suggestion on how to get the pattern traced onto backing that has a busy design? I typically don't use white or cream.
That sure is a wonderful way to transfer a design. Thank you for giving us the free download for patterns. Have you ever gone the wrong way and if so how do you rectify that. Thank you for sharing
I saw this before and didn't try it. For sure I am now! Have you tried this on a larger quilt such as a throw and on a domestic machine? I am not having any luck with the "chalk" method as it smears and I lose the design as I go. Also tried the light paper method and takes forever to tear off. What weight thread do you use on top and bottom and do you always use polyester instead of cotton? Thank you for providing such great lessons!
Thank you Laura! I didn’t know this existed either, and I’m headed over to the website ow. I really enjoy your videos! Thank you for all you do for us 🤗💕
Thanks Laura! I asked after that last video...How are you going to quilt it? LOL I just needed to be patient as I see you have shown us a very interesting and easy way with this one.
I love this, but was wondering what the quilt pattern is? My brother plays guitar. Would love to make this quilt for him. Thanks for your videos. Immensely helpful.
Thanks for the great video Laura. I already have a quilt sandwiched and ready to quilt. Can I quilt this from the front and right through the printer paper?
If you have access to a large light box, you can use that to see the pattern through your dark fabric. Use the same silver pencil that she recommends and you should be good to go!

Laura, thank you so much for your consistent uploads! Very educational.
Always. Love Laura!
I never thought to put the quilt pattern on the back of the quilt. Genius!
Never knew these free patterns existed! Thank you for the great tutorial!
I realize it is quite randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Ronan Joziah lately I have been using Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)

Great ideas 💡...enjoy your videos
Thanks for showing us how to do this. I'm not tech savvy at all. Plus I often wo der if I could quilt upside down.

I was thinking the same thing. I see where you asked over a year ago.
What a great idea and such a great step by step video. Thank you
Fascinating, Laura. Thankyou for sharing this great idea.
Thank you so much. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Now I'll be able to have a professional finish on my quilts. Perfect.

Absolutely brilliant.Thank you Laura for finding this website, and demonstrating how to transfer this to the back of the quilt.will try this.
I would be interested in ideas on how to do this with darker backgrounds that you can’t see the pattern through the fabric. EXCELLENT video!

Wow. Just gorgeous 🌸
Since this is copy paper, you should be able to put the paper on the front of the fabric and stitch directly onto the paper and tear off the paper.
Great video! Thanks so much!

Another great tutorial thanks for sharing and making it look Sew very easy 😉
Great video, Laura! ❤️ Quick question, I typically use a dark fabric fir the back of my quilts. Do you have any tips for marking that?
Lara, are you going to have a tour of your new sewing/quilting studio? I would love to see the end result.
Thank you for the link to these designs. Do you have any suggestion on how to get the pattern traced onto backing that has a busy design? I typically don't use white or cream.
Brilliant! My life just became easier.
Wow! that is so beautiful and informative. I might be able to do this on my domestic sewing machine.
Enjoyed this.
Love this site! Thank you very much!
Thanks for the great idea
Wow, I never knew about this website. As always, thank you for the informative video.

Thank you for this great video but I can’t find any free pantos on Urban Elementz????
❤
❤❤❤
Thank you again for sharing! Is there any easy way to quilt on a regular (not long arm) sewing machine? Xx
Thanks for the great video Laura. I already have a quilt sandwiched and ready to quilt. Can I quilt this from the front and right through the printer paper?
not with printer paper, it is too heavy. But you can with a thin paper, like tissue paper
@@SewVeryEasy Ok, thank you Laura. I do have a roll of tissue paper so I'll trace it out onto that.
@@sharoncrawford4460 Golden Threads makes paper to quilt through if you are interested.
I would like to see how I can design my own
Can you send a link for that Roxanne's soluble pencil? is it chalk based? Any other marking utensils you like to use on light coloured fabric?
Will it be possible to copy the designs onto water soluble sheets or strips on top of the quilt and do the FMQ following the design

Trying to find the guitar runner pattern you have there?
😮😀👍👏
What about if I’m using a darker back fabric? How can I trace the pattern onto it?

Question, what kind of paper are you using?
regular paper
Hi what gloves are you wearing?
Not sure what I am doing wrong. Went to sight. Only found the one design you were working on offered for free. No others for free.
Went to the site and they no longer have free pantograph patterns. :(
And if it's a portrait or landscape layout
I went to the web page. It didn't have any free patterns. It is Christmas.... Watching you ro the back of the quilt. Only nothing is free .
