Fun fact: the the first one, there’s the note about Chris in the broom closet. Later in the Ultra Deluxe, there’s another about Chris’s remains in the warehouse.
So the real mystery of TSP is: What happened to Chris? Who did this to him and WHY?!
The rest of the note about the warehouse is talking about the rickety wood bridge you walk across to get a collectible, so I think it's implying Chris fell.
But I love the continuation of Chris being as much of a madlad as Stanley, glad they remembered Chris... even if they killed him 😔

19:20 I think the reason why the game has a "Jim" button (as opposed to any other name) is because of Jim Sterling's positive review of the game (the one that said "Stanley Parable strives, and then succeeds, to be every game ever created").
Nah, Davey said he found it a good everyman name. He even considered changing it because he was afraid it sounded too much like "Gym" but by that time the people at crows crows crows were too attached to Jim.
In addition to what Hi Hey said, I don't think this is the case because when the narrator read that review earlier he referred to them as James, so if the button was in respect for them they would've used the same name.

29:26 There* is actually an achievement for that. What you need to do is set all of the sliders in the settings to every possible position. Then, there you go! You have the achievement, and you can now go through the settings world champion door!
Nope, you just have to mess with every slider and put it to "every possible position." As long as you click on it and put it on the same setting, it will work. They do not have to be different or changed at all. You just have to click on all of them once.
Also I think you don’t get the achievement till you go through the settings world champion door. I could be wrong though.
@@missingknight7955 You do, I checked the achievements at the start which is how I found it, and I got it before even seeing any of the new content! You have to set every toggle at least once, the language setting to every language, and every slider (including sliders hidden behind other options) to every number on the scale.

Interestingly, the settings world champion room is identical to a room you can see in the 2018 trailer for the ultra deluxe edition. Or, at least I think it is, from the part before stanley falls into his office and it begins to fill with money.

I think it's important to highlight that there are more endings without the bucket that have been added to the game, accesible even before the new content door. MatPat should revisit the games ending, go up and down the elevator behind the boss' office and try to jump out of the map in the cameras room

Every single time, the witty banter is just great. Especially this time, mainly because it reminded me that I have to ask my girlfriend which of her 16 allergies she remembers just because I have also forgotten.
A have a friend who has allergies. He can't eat whole wheat bread and other whole grains, red fish... Peanuts... And others that I'm probably forgetting 😜
I have a medical bracelet with my condition (epilepsy), my allergies, and an emergency number. Simple and somewhat stylish, resembling a simple chain bracelet with a section of the chain replaced by a plate with the information on it. Won't rust and designed to be worn 24/7. If she's ever out on her own and has a problem, medical professionals will know who to call and what to avoid using to medicate her. Some people are allergic to tylenol, for example. Would definitely recommend you acquire one. It would double has having a list of allergies you can check anytime if either or both of you forget.
My friend is allergic to peanuts and latex among other things I don’t remember.

The sign for the button changes into "Button that says Jim", the word "NAME" also changes into "JIM" and the one for the hole "(mostly) Infinite Hole - fine it ended" That's a fun detail
During the Epilogue, the button reappears and can say, "Stanley"

The emotions Matt went though in such a short period of time
On my first play through the Jim part the narrator told me that “I, Jim was in a cult and ended up dying alone” so there must be different dialogue for that part.
I think if you interrupt him or press it again too fast he changes dialogue
@@drawingdragon I think so, because I interrupted by accident and got that dialogue too. And I've seen it with other let's plays that interrupted.
That dialogue only happens if you interrupt the narrator by pressing the button while he’s still setting you up in the “Jim” mindset
Without spoiling anything, I can tell you with certainty that there are, indeed, six Stanlurines in the game. Yep, absolutely, definitely six Stanlurines. If you counted them from 1 to 6, each number you count would have a Stanlurine correlated to it. If your Reassurance Bucket could fit exactly six Stanlurines, you could fill it up completely.
I really hope they come back to this and find all SIX Stanulurines. I think Matt would find it extremely satisfying to find them all.

When I roleplayed as Jim I made a whole life as Jim. I grew up in Savannah, Georgia spending my days being helpful to my single father as he tried to raise my brother Ted and I. We would do science experiments out in the yard, which motivated me to eventually get a degree in Biology. My brother Ted found someone to love, and a few years later they got married. It left me wondering what to do with my life since I was already working for a college in Florida as a professor and researcher. I decided to try to get into shape, so I got to the gym and after a few weeks I found a woman named Portica who I just went on a date with, and we have a few things in common. Needless to say, I felt so seen when I heard my name in this game I love. I almost got lost in Jim’s world altogether, and when I returned to myself, watching Matpat instead of doing something productive, I wished I was Jim.

I'll be honest, it was legitimately nerve racking waiting for Mat to hit the "Change your Reality" button because I thought that section was on a timer. I didn't realize it was based on your number of inputs

He did miss a reality or two, that looks like a robot and looks like Cas Van Pool art style.
@@josephmeluso2377 The "change your self" seems to not be in a specific order like the others. Very rarely I see letsplayers get just an "ERROR" sign or a really cute cartoonish Stanley (not the Cas Van der Pol one) but most of the time it doesn't happen. I don't know if it's purely random or if it depends on what angle you're at when you change him?
The “settings world champion” is an achievement that you can unlock for messing with every setting in the menu. When you do that, the door will open up
One of the small touches that I love is that with the different ports, they change the wording a bit and instead of just saying a “re-release” they make fun a little of the port, like I have this on the switch and they make jabs at adding things “just for a Nintendo switch port” and its so fun how much effort you can see in this game and in the difference of the ports (plus they added an achievement tab in the games menu for the switch where the switch itself doesn’t have achievements built in)
You CAN jump in the game.
First: Go to the New Content/Stanley Parable 2 Showroom
Step 2: stand in the Jump Circle (make sure you don’t use ANY jumps for best results)
Step 3: reset the game through the menu like you normally would
Step 4: you now have infinite jumps (until you return to the showroom or exit out of the game completely
Problem with this is that you *NEED* to have jumps and most people like Mat used up all of their jumps. You can't get anymore jumps unless you wipe your save clean.

@@somefield8091 maybe so, but it isn’t like that’d take very long. Plus you can break the game a lot (graphic bugs included) and even get a hidden easter egg by doing this

To get into the Settings World Champion Door you need the advancement. For the advancement you need to interact with every box and slider option in settings. You need EVERY tick on the slider you can't drag it back and forth because sometimes that skips ticks, you should use arrow keys.

Heads up, the original release has 18 endings. Ultra Deluxe totals out to 42 endings I believe. You've got a lot of hunting to do, half are original endings altered by the bucket, so I think its worth going through all the first endings and then doing them but with the bucket :)

To get the ‘Settings World Record’ door to open, you need to drag all the sliders in settings to all the available numbers. The prize from opening the door is very much worth it… 😉😉
You may have to toggle every option in addition to the sliders to get it to unlock

I’ve personally completed the entire game (yes, I am a Stanley Parable connoisseur) and you only need to toggle the sliders for me at least!
One of my favorite things about this game is actually seeing how different people play it. The differences in how people approach the game are fascinating. I was watching Secret Sleepover Society play some of the game before this, and comparing the two is both hilarious and interesting.

the part in the tunnel where its backwards talking i only got a little but it was saying " moments wrapped in romance that end with bitter sunrises and goodbyes, moments so fragile and rare"
It truly warms my heart that they loved the infinite hole so much.
I know you probably will never see this, but you guys should try tunic. Lots of secrets, great gameplay, and I think an ARG all in one of the best games of the year

The bosses are really designed weird. Watched MANY people that kept complaining about their designs and the combat. The exploration was good, but the combat got on people's nerves.

Please find out whats up with the 432 coworker. There are some hidden things that are talking about them. In the meeting room om one whiteboad it says "dont talk about this meeting with 432, the problem with 432..." And their desk only has a pencelsharpener and a lamp! Also i think there was something in the room b1 next to the entrance to the telephone room. Would like to see a game theory about this! There is a hole redditpage about coworker 432!

When you realize that the narrator put the Jim button away because he was still traumatized from the skip button.
He already lost Stanley once, he wasn't going to risk Stanley losing who he was because of another button the narrator made.
There will never, in any story, any game, any movie, never will there ever be a more powerful connnection, a more fully realized and fruitful relationship, a companionship built up so perfectly, as the relationship between Stanley and Bucket.

You play the Is This A Bucket? game. You can't play through the Zending or the game hopping one because of the sign. Whiiich means you can't play the baby game with the bucket. Unfortunately.

Not meaning to be _that guy,_ but... there's a difference between "Their," "There" and "They're." Not meaning to be offensive in any way, just making sure you know the difference between them. There's also a difference between "your" and "you're." I correct people a bit IRL, but not all the time. Also, sometimes people make some sentences that just feel wrong when they use the wrong word.
I didn't even think about jumping back in until I noticed that they teleported you in such a position that you'd have to avoid it to not jump in a second time, and I IMMEDIATELY knew you had to go back in. Thank you for making that happen. What a journey.
The creator(s) of this game do such a perfect jump of adding to the joke RIGHT before I think it's either over or that there's something else that you're supposed to be doing.
I remember the broom closest being one of the highlights from the original, and that seems to continue to be the case in "2."

Between Jim, the foretold Hole, and the broom closet this episode was pure gold
Hints: The broken trophy has something to do with that clock at the beginning of the game
And the setting champion door is unlocked through the messing with the setting
Theory: The Narrator is Stanley’s boss. think about it, he KNOWS the “Super Secret Code” to The Mind Facility. He’s constantly watching over Stanley AND he was the one who freed Stanley, made his coworkers disappear AND would know that there isn’t any way to shut down the self destruction sequence in the Countdown ending
One problem with that is that the Stanley Parable has no lore.
@@AbdullahKhan-el6xw maybe so, but it’d still be fun to theorize about who exactly the narrator is. Besides, if matpat can make a fun theory about Sans being Ness, he can surely make this work too.

Fun fact, the QR code for the merch leads to the website and if you are livestreaming the website will have a new section showing your livestream and your twitch handle, which is really cool! It happened to Asmongold when he played it and went to the website.

@@mvivian100 Ah, gotcha. I figured they were with the text responses they were making like when they said "Got em lol", but the stream thing i thought it might have been a coded in checker. Though I guess that would be very difficult to do since it is through a QR code reader 😅

51:16 the settings world championship door only opens when you complete the achievement with the same name.
So a few notes for y’all about everything you experienced (some spoilers ahead, but very minor):
1. Setting world champion is an achievement you can get, and if you get it the room unlocks
2. There are a total of 26 possible collectible to get in the office
3. This bucket and game as a whole definitely has lore to it (that’s not a troll)
The hole is one of my favorite bits of this game but no one ever sits through the hole options before the narrator cuts them off and it always disappoints me but this thoroughly fulfils my hole-y needs.
Now I understand what they meant in that other video when they talked about all of the time they spent in the hole.
Worth it.
