      HA HA. People are so funny when people disagree with one another. Name calling and all the high school stuff. I agree with Tyler. So Mr. Fuck does that mean I have no taste? Yet I think everything that Tate did with QR was great and the last 3 cd's with him was about average but I still like them. I guess I have no taste being I like bands such as Sevendust, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Godsmack, Heart, Black Sabbath (even the DIO years), Disturbed, Motley Crue (Even the John Corabi cd), Queen, Korn, Led Zeppelin, Pop Evil, Cinderella, Tesla, Scorpions, Fleetwood Mac and many many more. Just because some people will and will not like this is no big deal and oh yeah. Does it effect your everyday life? No and if it does get a life.

      ***** I have no taste? Sure, that's why I'm into Judas Priest, anthrax, black sabbath (Ozzy & Dio years), Rainbow, Dio, Ozzy, Megadeth, Maiden, Slayer, Metallica (old stuff), KISS, faith no more, Mötley Crüe, skid row, machine head and many more..
      Also you say I know nothing about Queensryches history? I know I'm young but I've went back and listened to the albums and I have a dad that's seen them 3 or 4 times too so...

    Best music by Geoff in a very long time. Vocals are solid. Music sounds like a cross between Empire era Queensryche and his newer music. Really good stuff here. You can tell Geoff has left the bickering and nonsense behind and is moving in HIS direction....no pressure....no competition with the new Queensryche. Just pure Geoff Tate music. Good for you Geoff. This was worth waiting for.

    I have to admit that this is the first tune from Geoff in a LONG TIME that i absolutely NEEDED to play again right away. Strange how the name change made me more open to the music. From Q2K on i just couldn't listen to much like i did back in the day. Mindcrime was a twice daily spin on the record player. Best voice and band i had ever heard and i was hooked. I tried to find a gem on every album after 2000 but it just wasn't MY Queensryche anymore. Then came the tragic split. I admit i loved the other version better and HATED tge remakes. Good tunes on the album, but again, it just wasn't my Queensryche. The other guys just did it better. But now...
    Operation Mindcrime comes on the scene. Totally new entity. I opened my eyes like you said on Tribe and listened in a whole new light. I hear a lot of CLASSIC TATE in this song. Sounds like it would have fit in on Empire. I FEEL LIKE GEOFF IS BACK WITH A VENGEANCE AND SOMETHING TO PROVE! I LOVE THIS TUNE! Geoff's voice sounds great - classic and new all at once. The split may have been the best thing to happen. The band sounds great doing what they do and Geoff sounds like Geoff should. Reminds me of what got me back in the day. Kudos, Geoff. I really can't wait to hear all three discs and the whole story. You just might win back some long lost fans with this one. I know my faith is restored. Thank you

      Rick Neal Hater here, this song is okay. Its a nice step back in the direction Tate should have sounded all these past years. Its a real pity it took this much fucking drama for Queensryche and Tate to sound back like Queensryche.

      Mike Payne Holy crap I can't believe it. It's like listening to Queensryche circa late 80's and early 90's. I haven't heard anything this good from Geoff since Empire. Love the new song. Time to listen to it again.

    I think this sounds more like the Queensryche I love.... with respect to Tod who is a great singer too... both are very great bands but it's the singer who creates the most of the sound... I will buy two albums ... and to all people who make a nasty contest out of these two bands.... just put on the music and enjoy instead of making it a very useless discussion about who is the best.... (sorry for my bad english... ;-) )

      +Punky Deville's Blabbermouth LOL! Not. It sounds like more of American Soldier, which sold about 20,000 copies. The stuff the hardcore fans have been asking for came out on Condition Human. Take a listen to Eye9, Guardian or the S/T track and let me know which one rocks more like Warning/RFO; this junk or that masterpiece.

    • @Cygnus111
      @Cygnus111 9 лет назад

      ***** Have you bothered to look at the numbers? Tate's Travesty has a whopping 2,467 discs sold in a month. Condition Human topped that on its first DAY. What a moron.

    • @FreeMTrider
      @FreeMTrider 9 лет назад +3

      +Cygnus111 It's funny how you talk about album sales as if they matter. Empire sold the most and Silent Lucidity was the big hit.....but the so-called hardcore fans think that the Warning and Rage put them on the map. Mindcrime did that. I remember when Rage came out and people were turned off and complaining they weren't a metal band anymore. Years later, the "poseur hardcore" fans claim it's one of their best. My friends and I knew it was the day I brought it home when it was released. I appreciate the stuff they're doing with Todd, but it really needs to be cleaned up. That classic harmony of QR is just a mess on that album and it sounds like Helloween or one of those bands. In This Light is a great song from the first release.
      This song is great too. It has a very cool sound and style to it.

    This is probably the best song from Tate since Promised Land. Completely lacking any hint of grunge, alternative rock or other nasty stuff. There was some cool stuff on Frequency Unknown too, but I think this is more catchy and has better production. Hope there is more like this on the album.

    Geoff Tate's lyrics opened my eyes politically when I was still a child. As a man I look up to him vocally and lyrically. His voice is still as powerful as ever and his message is more relevant today then when Operation Mindcrime was first released. God bless Geoff Tate for fighting the good fight and still having the heart to rock hard after all these years.

      The talking started on Tribe and was full blown on Dedicated to Chaos. His singing voice is a pale shadow of what it once was (the decay started as far back as 1988) and this talking the lyrics instead of singing them is due to him having lost not only his Godlike ability to sing (upper and lower range), but also having lost his flawless technique and control. It's sad, because imo, NO ONE compared to him in his prime.

      +Danimal300zx LOL spoken like a fan and not a singer. If you want the very same songs over and over and no change or evolution of sight, sound and mind. Pop on an AC/DC album. Geoff experiments with variety, if you want stale reproduction of the VERY same thing over and over. Head on over to Queensryche 2.0 featuring Geoff Tate 2.0. lololol

      Same here. I saw QR in 2011, and was sorely disappointed, they reworked songs so Tate didn't have to hit any high notes and I was like,"WTF!?!?! Where's my old-school Operatic Geoff Tate?!?!" I mean, that was the entire reason I went to see Queensryche.

      I gather you don't understand the concept of an "open forum". Its not just for cheerleading to meet YOUR approval. Its a place to share opinions, thoughts, ideas etc. Unfortunately, people like you can't seem to grasp the idea that people see things differently than you.
      So let me offer you a piece of wisdom. "There are people who have different opinions than you. It doesn't make them an asshole, stupid, asleep, racist, bigoted, homophobic or hateful. It simply makes them a human being with a different point of view. Respect that and they will respect you".
      Now go and put your big boy pants on and move on with your life.

      sounds good to me, BUT I think you commented ironically in the OMC trailer "Eww.. muddy production. Hard to listen to. How much did they pay the mix
      engineer - $200? Typical Tate - trying too many things at once and
      falling flat most of the time. The issue with Tate is not so much his
      voice (even though that IS an issue) it's lack of quality songwriting.
      Without Wilton and DeGarmo he simply can't write a decent song. He has
      to either hire outside writers and pay them shit or rely on these new
      members of his band who haven't ANY quality songwriting credits under
      their belts."
      this comment is not only a matter of differents opinions but a sarcastic criticism.
      if you dont think so, then you dont know what is sharing opinions and making sarcastic comments.
      peace bro!!!

      Kevin Richards Rock the Stage NYC When I first read your comment I couldn't even fathom the similarity between the two songs so I listened to it several more times and then listened to "The Mission" (which is one of my favorite songs from OM). With all due respect, I still can't hear any similarity between the two. I agree with another comment that this is more similar to material off Mindcrime II. This doesn't even begin to compare with anything from early QR.
      That being said, I am actually pleasantly surprised with this song simply because I also listened to the new song from QR that's coming out in Sept. and this one is much better, IMO. The new QR does nothing for me. Very boring. This is at least a little refreshing. I think I will get this album instead of the new QR. Well...we should all be much more excited about the new Stratovarius album coming out. Their new single "Shine in the Dark" is stellar and they are still as awesome as ever.

    • @davidknight2423
      @davidknight2423 9 лет назад

      Steven H I think the similarities are found in the bottom end, some of the bass and drums recall that song, or maybe the same production techniques were replicated for those instruments on this track? SOME of the melody does sound OMC and some of it OMCII. There's a solo in there from Kelly Gray I think is really top notch, and not like any other song. The lyrics aren't as plentiful as on OMC but those making up this song have a similar equate-able vibe.

    What the hell, sounds nothing like the Queensryche I loved, Promised Land, Operation Mindcrime! Wait this sounds like Operation Mindcrime and Promised land stuff. Ha, he wears a vest!!! Whats up with that hair!! I never loved the music because of the way Tate's hair was done, or his wardrobe. This sound's great to me! As does The Fall. If it sounds a bit like Mission, not a big surprise because he was part of the writing process. I have heard, he was in the band Queensryche, and helped write some of the songs, so, I guess, maybe, a similar sound may occur. I hope to like Queensryche's new release as well. Not loving the new song but will most likely buy it. I do not know Geoff, or any of the Queensryche band member's. I just know what sounds good to my ears. Operation Mindcrime The Key sounds great so far. Listen or don't. Music is subjective. I don't like country music, but I don't spend my time writing how horrible some artist is, who I do not like. I don't get it. It is art. Some will like and some will not. If you were a Queensryche fan, I can not see why you wouldn't love this.

      Not being very fair. He is 25 or 30 years older now and very few rock stars keep their figure or their voice over that length of time. GT 1990s work is incomparable and I don't think anyone could do it better for the original Operation Mindcrime, but im glad he is still singing. However he doesn't have the raw energy of a man in his 20s anymore, which is normal.

    It's okay but it sounds like a left over from DTC. I liked thatt cd but it wasn't great. The last good rockin cd with Tate was Tribe. That cd is really good. I even liked Q2K but Tribe is better and I even think HITNF is pretty rockin. Spool is my favorite song off that cd. But still think it's sad Tate just couldn't go by the name The Geoff Tate Band or even just Tate. His solo stuff will never live up to the name Operation Mindcrime because that cd was just too kick ass and will be hard to match. Mad respect for what he did with QUEENSRYCHE but now they have Todd and I like what they have done and the new song as well. Can't wait for their cd.

    The voice sounds good, the music sounds good, just a good compostion overall. I like that it does not have that muddy guitar sound like many modern rockbands have (and Queensrÿche in their later years), but the more cleaner sound, keeps it sounding fresh.

Somehow this sounds more like Wilton, Jackson, and Rockenfield than the original members themselves sound today. Especially with those thick beefy guitar riffs, signature drum beats, and mystifying vocal passages. Is it 1988 again?
    I must say, Geoff Tate reinvented the past brilliantly. Did he reinvent the future? Well this could be the start of it. I'm beyond impressed. Now I want to hear the whole album...

    Wow! This is actually some real good shit! I liked the FU album alright, but this song actually blows away Cold and The Hand of God, and those are two of my favorite songs on FU. Great job, guys. Perhaps they should have taken their time more with FU and it would have been better than it is, but Hell! Just keep moving forward and let the past go!

      Tribe, Mindcrime II and American Soldier were all great albums. In truth, the only actual poor album they put out was DtC and even then it was only poor for them. Average or good by any other standard.

      @ThordMoller 9 лет назад +5

      ***** I think dedicated to chaos was better than operation mindcrime ii, american soldier and tribe combined together. And Frequency unknown even better than that. This sounds pleasing too. What Todd la Snorre and the rest are doing is bullshit. Couldnt believe my eyes when i found out that many people seemed to support them over Geoff. He is QR and OM god dammit. The others are just whiners and communists.

    This song sounds way better than the samples for the album. Actually shows some promise. A little bit of 'Empire' and a whole of 'Operation Mindcrime' thrown into this song might win some fans back. But, it's only one song and one song doesn't make an entire album. I will wait to listen to the album in its entirety before passing judgment. But, as one commenter said, there will always be haters now of Geoff so no matter what this album sounds like, good or bad, they will hate it. If it's a good album that's all that should matter and everyone should just put away the soap opera drama that occurred between Geoff and former band mates. That's business and that's life in the music business unfortunately. Judge the album based on its musical merit, period and leave prejudices at the door.

    Geoff Tate...I must say your vocals are never better...You get better with age and experience...Your band behind you is also amazing!!! As far as Queensryche goes...They sound just as good as you did when you were their lead singer. It was hard to see you go...but you have blessed another group as did Todd La Torre does now for Queensryche. You both are (Tremendous)vocalist...I really appreciate both bands. Chris Cornell some say was better in (Audio Slave) (Soundgarden) I think he has made both bands awesome as you did to both of your bands...I have learned to appreciate the sounds of everyone and give them a chance just to see what they bring to the next band...And you have done a (Monumental) task...God Bless Operation Mindcrime and Geoff Tate....God Bless Queensryche and Todd La Torre...Ty...

    Very clever. The sound is exactly like the OM album. The chorus riff is virtually the same as the verse riff for "Mission." It's a rip-off of the past ironically despite the title. But it sounds pretty good, I must admit. Better than what QR was doing with him for a very long time. Not sure why. Geoff can't sing like he used to, but he can still sing, though sometimes he goes a little flat.
