Wanna know a fun fact about Figs?
Fig trees only bear fruit thanks to something called a fig wasp. The wasps are born inside the figs, and when the females hatch, they crawl out to find a new fig in which they can lay their own eggs. And for a Fig to be edible, They have to be at least one female stuck inside, An enzyme from the fruit breaks down the body into protein. The Fig basically digests the dead insect, Making it a part of the resulting ripened fruit. The crunchy bit in figs are seeds, Not anatomical parts of wasp. The relationship between figs and figs wasp is a symbolic, entirely natural one. Fig wasps need figs, and Figs need Fig wasp. Neither would continue to thrive without the other. Crazy right?

Huh?? The original french parfait used custard. The japanese parfait uses ice cream. Not sure where a yogurt one is?? .-.

Lol I was confused too when she said it was made out with yogurt rather than ice cream. In the US parfaits are all yogurt usually topped with granola and fruit

I have a small yogurt everyday! Its good for digestion and helps natural bacteria form. Plus I think it helps with my acne and skin in general since I've started having a yogurt a day my skin seems to be healthier.

Oh man I just finished watching your recent Tokyo tales and I was like I can't wait til they get back into their routine, build that ladder and make a video. I was pleasantly surprised to see this video in my subscriptions! Haha thank you for keeping me company while I edit my own videos, it's nice seeing other creators push through during low points. It gives me hope to keep going too 💕
It's so odd for us to see comments like this. Back when we started, there wasn't really a huge community of creators, and I wouldn't imagine that other creators watch us. But now it seems some do. So cool!
Simon and Martina thats totally understandable! I've been silently watching your video for almost 6 or 7 years! 😅 I guess in some way I'm spoiled because as I start out on youtube, I can draw inspiration and motivation from other creators when I feel down or don't want to make a video. But this community of creators, its saved me in so many ways and I can't wait to see where this all goes :)

I always thought of parfaits as yogurt and fruit. This seems more like a sundae to me. Such a cool thing seeing cultural differences 😋💕🍨
Me too, I'd have called the last two a sundae! To me a parfait is cream, fruit and maybe some meringue in there, and maybe some sauce (from UK/France). I'd not seen the yoghurt variety before! It was great seeing the Japanese take on a parfait. :)

Also real talk, I probably would have tried Dan's corn parfait. Hahah. I've had sweet corn is some desserts including a Corn and Cheese ice cream from the Philippines, and I really enjoyed them. So sign me up for vegetables in my parfait.

Those parfaits look so so delicious. I've never tried figs cause they look scary. Maybe I should give them a try! Had a trying day with doctors telling me to 'just try harder'.... But this brought my spirits back up! Love you guys ♥

Martina I relate to the stress of having a pet who's hurting and you can't do anything to help them...
My dog passed away 2 months of old age and she was in so much pain and I still to this day am very heartbroken and cry everyday because I couldn't do anything to take the pain away

This and your podcast was what I need an to build up my ladder to day. Thanks I have a super bad pain day and this helped a lot. Hope you are feeling better after all that have been around you lately. And it is okay to need to take breaks (speclly for you martina) we with chronic pain needs a day off often one time a week.

Its actually a special type wasp called a fig wasp they evolved right aling side the fig tree and both tree and wasp helps keeo both species going

Lol the spudgyyyy and parfaits are so good but yes it takes a lot of work to do them right. I find that home made parfaits taste much better here but when I go to Japan in April with my mom, woohoo!, I will be trying all the sweet delicious foods!
