I’d definitely recommend including the Torna: The Golden Country DLC as a bonus at the end of this OST, just like you did with Xenoblade 1 and Future Connected. It’s got some of the absolute best tracks in the series

You're correct in your connection to Gaelic. Alba Cavanich and Mor Ardain take their names from Scottish Gaelic words. Alba, for example, is the Scottish Gaelic name for Scotland. The place however, since you were curious, the capital city Alba Cavanich is full of metal and rust, very industrialized. While the fields of Mor Ardain are hilly, rocky, with plenty of cliffs, they are barren wastes full of dirt, rocks, and abandoned industrialized areas with hardly any lush plant life to be found. It's a harsh place. Each region in the game takes from different languages and brings in different dialects from around Europe, which I think gives the game a great deal of its identity. To give two examples, Mor Ardain is full of Scottish VA, Gormott takes its name from French (gourmand), but all of the Gormotti people who live there are done by Welsh VA. This is of course even reflected with the protagonists all having different dialects from their respective regions.
Like I said in my superchat in the previous stream - Leftherian Archipelago - Night is the most beautiful overworld track in JRPG history, at least in my opinion. Every time I listen to it I'm still blown away and it's been 5 years. The music combined with the gorgeous scenery and volumetric cloud sea in the background... It's such a perfect combo.
You can REALLY tell that the soundtrack for all xeno games is built AROUND the moment and cutscenes they accompany, and not as just an afterthought or backing. For many of the cutscenes in this game, the music swells and builds to PERFECTLY match the emotional beats of what is occurring in-game. That’s why so many tracks are so iconic. They immediately make you recall exact moments, and lines of dialogue as you hear each line or phrase in the music. It really makes for a unique and immersive experience. A perfect marriage between gameplay, action, and music
They actually storyboard the cutscenes to match the timing of the music. It adds so much. The music hits right when cutscenes show a very emotionally powerful part. It's incredible.
Your reaction to contrition is my favorite reaction of yours in this channel. That song is one of my favorites and just seeing you be enthralled by it. Completed my joy.
Also, A Place in the Sun still gets me misty considering the context of when it plays. No game has really played with my emotions quite like this one. Even 3 didn't come close to doing that.
The "wind" in Contrition is combination of different effects. From the beginning to 0:35 it is a synthesizer. From there to 1:01 of the track it changes to the string section playing a very quiet tremolo. And from this point on it is just the natural reverb of the instruments.

If you weren’t aware, it might be something to look into; but I imagine it’s the automatic forced ads thing due to copyright claims you can’t really do anything about.

some cutscenes were storyboarded to the music (e.g Counterattack)and some songs were scored to the cutscene (e.g Escape through the clouds)
Counterattack is probably my favorite song in XC2. Its incredible. But I do think they stepped it up with XC3.
Wish xenoblade 1 had a similar "story event turnaround" theme, alas the closest thing is you will know our names or unfinished battle.
