I really wanted to donate my hair when i was a teen. It took months and i finally found a place that would accept dyed hair! It was even geared towards kids who wanted to donate! It was in the UK but they took hair from anywhere. So i sent it off, and 6 months went by. Then 12. Then 18. and i never got the certificate i was supposed to get. and suddenly the company was gone.
