I'm the kind of fool who would grind out this toadstool skip. I'm also the same fool who lacks the skill necessary to complete the game in a reasonable time and still miss wr by minutes. It's not good enough to be lucky, the execution done by these runners are inspiring. Excellent video.

Something that is absolutely comical, in the same exact room in the Underground Caverns where the Static Toadstool item is, up the waterfall is an item called the Secret Boots. Which it’s only functionality is raising Alucard’s height by a single pixel, making that particular jump possible. However, as it is up the waterfall in the room, it would be inaccessible for the run

Yes and no. For the most part I think we would be hyped about this happening. The one thing that makes it annoying is if this lucky drop ends up kind of throwing away all the cool strats and work we've done over the years to get the record with a run that is not as technical or interesting. But that is arbitrary and for the most part only the runners would care. And even so, because this isn't something you can really grind with any kind of success rate, everyone would still run the original route, potentially branching the category if not on paper definitely in the minds of the runners.
I'd be the guy to get the toadstool and then bonk it off the side of the ledge instead of on top and then proceed to reset and never tell anyone what occurred
At 13:18 you showed us how fast can wolf be even over TAS shielddash ... so how come at 17:30 you say perfect wolf execution saves like 1 second over non TAS shielddash+spellcasting ?
@dr4gonBlitz, if you go with the lapiz lazuli + hearth refresh start, you can save time for the clock, pro tip, your WR has been longer beaten..in fact you never broke it on the under circles. Also, you can do a perfect frame wolve skip or hearth refresh early dupe for it.

Secret boots dont let you grab the toadstool either and there would be no way to get them either.
