I've been playing this game since it's release, and until now, I never realized bat-form Alucard has his own tiny sword and scabbard.
It's fucking adorable.
Most epic moment: Almost getting bodied by those spike sleds towards the end of the run and reacting SO FAST! Was watching this live it was sooo insanely rewarding to see you finally do it!
I'm impressed by anyone who can do runs like this over and over and grind their way through and avoid burnout. Slick shit, my guy!

I owned this back ont he 90s, purchased it in every console available, its just an amazing game,recently got it got for my ps5.. my kids though I was crazy and I explained to them what nostalgia meant. Thank you for sharing your speed run, great job!

Hey brother, epic as usual! Hey dude we had a misunderstanding about speedrunning on which emulator etc last monday in your stream. I "jokingly" (but not obvious enough) that "sotn on ps3 is a perfect emulation of ps1-sotn" in which I almost stirred up some rage. I did that statement because I read that in a review somwhere, that the "ps1 games of PS store for the PS3 perfeclty emulates the original", ie however wrote that almost two decades ago had the opinion the its amazing to use the ps1 emu on the ps3... Anyway, I do know that on several PS1-machines there is severe lag on several occasions in SOTN, for example when getting Life max up to name one. I did not notice these lags on the PSN version of SOTN on ps3 so I guess that for some people it might feel "perfect" rather than playing on a PC. Anyway I just wanted to make sure nobody's pissed of or that I'm not welcome to join your streams etc anymore. I didn't realize it was that much controversial :D
Much love and respect for your effort in keeping this amazing game alive and well! I haven't played it nearly as much as you but I have played the shit out of it back in the early 00s so I'm no expert but not entirelry clueless either!

The only way this could amaze me more was if I went back to being a youngin and seen this when this game first came out. Awesome job dude and you def should give it another shot you can cut a few mins off easy
Really nice run and awesome with the damage less etc. But as far as I understand the "going into wolfform and then out again and then dashdown jump" is basically a glitch cause you definetly not able to do the dashdown attack without the double jump!
I would be excited to hear your thoughts about the trials and tribulations in achieving this speed run...

As far as I know, this is the first legit no damage run with no cuts in-between.
I've seen at least 1 other SotN no damage run, but it had obvious cuts between loading screens and in some saving rooms. Then again, that run was 200% all bosses I believe, so it's quite different.

In 10:24 to 10:27, How did you do the teleport trick with the shield? I never saw this before.
for me this is the correct and perfect way to do a speed run ... without using cheats that break the game only in the game with the original mechanics

You didn't even bring it up in the commentary and I'm no SotN speedrunner so I have zero knowledge on how that would affect the game/mechanics/RNG/etc so at face value, it just seems like a waste of time, so I'd love the expert explanation! Thank you. Keep on kickin' ass!
so whenever you try to save for the first time in sotn, the game goes through the full save animation. after that, it will prompt the player to save or not. using save rooms lets you refill mp so you can do more wingsmashes since those cost mp. so I have to do the first save full save at some point.

There is no ceiling there lol. Not my fault the programmers didnt put collision there :) fun fact in my 8 years of running this game you are the first person to ever point out that going through that ceiling could be considered a glitch. None the less, the rules are a bit arbitrary since glitches can happen on accident very easily in this game.
