i have a 2004 jeep liberty with a simple ignition key can i use a key that has a remote door opener ?

Your 04 should have a chip in the key it won't start unless the computer reads the signal from the chip in the key. Unless this was only on certain models?? It's a anti theft engine disable that is separate from the remote. You can buy a new keyless entry 4 button remote with programmer that plugs onto your obd11 port. It's only $70.00 Compare to $235.00 and up some
locksmith or dealers will charge. Rip offs!!!!
