Somehow this is one of the most touching cinematics as of late. The night elves and especially Tyrande have been to so much... they gave up their immortality to save the world, their archdruid went mad (Fandral) and then the war of thorns destroyed virtually their culture and home, while the horde went on a genocide against them. Darnassus always seemed save and i remember playing in the early days and wondering about Teldrassil and how beautiful it was. And then it was burned, the night elves driven out, Tyrande consumed by hate and vegeance, Malfurion exchanged places with Ysera in the shadowlands and now they get a respite. It was a nice touch to remember Darnassus and the temple and how deeply involved Elune is in night elven culture. Really a great cinematic.
Even though you seem to have some deeply rooted hate for the Horde I want to correct you on one thing: It wasn't the Horde who burnt down Teldrassil - it was Sylvanas.

The night elves still control very much of Kalimdor. They won the Darkshore warfront and still have all of their holdings in Ashenvale. Astranaar, Silverwind Grove, Forest Song, Stardust Spire and the Blackfathom Camp are still all Alliance and owned by Night Elves. So Ashenvale is still mostly controlled by Nelves. In Darkshore the Horde presence is gone, the Grove of the Ancients e.g. is still active with Onu, the Ancient of Wisdom. Hyjal is also still settled by many Night Elves just like Feralas. In Bel'ameth there can also be seen many visitors from Val'shara, Darkshore, Hyjal and Feralas. This shows us that all of these regions still have a large population of Night Elves. Its about time they got a W lmao. But i hope Blizzard updates the Ebon Hold location to somewhere like ICC so i dont spawn in legion everytime i use the Death gate :P
@guinness12691 not what I mean. It's not like every single night elf stood there and planned to plant teldrassil. It was a a smaller group that went against the others wishes.
You know, while I'm glad the Night Elves finally got something going their way, I'm a bit iffy about them still worshiping Elune, especially after the reveal that she purposelly didn't intervene and allowed Teldrassil to burn. Like I'd start asking questions if the Goddess I've been worshiping for the past 10000+ years just treated my people like fuel.
Not all gods are omnipresent nor omnipotent. Even in the tales of the old Pagan religions, not many were both. Very few in fact were, and I think people need to understand that. Only Christianity boasts an omnipresent and omniscient God. And I think people need to stop thinking like that's the only story of Gods.
This isn't going their way. This is spitting on 10,000 years of history and culture to displace them to a landmass they have no reason to care about. It's spitting on everyone who loved Warcraft 3 Kaldorei.
While I agree that she allowed that tree to burn but I think she atleast do a minor intervention. I remember somewhere in bfa novel where she actually made all the victims of teldrassil sleep so they had a painless death, I don't think any God have done that throught history of wow.
Elune eased the Elves suffering at the burning of Teldrassil, trusting their spirits to go to Ardenweald and help fight against the enemy there, little expecting they’d instead be forced into the Maw. Also, she cannot enter Ardenweald, using Tyrande as her mouthpiece. Which boils down to: Elune isn’t truly an omniscient goddess, yet she’s apparently immortal. Bets on whether she’s something to do with the original world tree (drum roll) Elun’ahir…
I dunno man, for as nice and wholesome as this was... Does this mean the Night Elves are immortal again? 'Cause that's what I wanna know. I'ts not bad by any means though, I'd just like some clarification, oh, and Malfurion to come back.
they were greanted Immortality by Nozdormu for one purpose - since that entire issue is now a moot point, and he has rethought everything after Fandral and such, that wont happen again.. The aspects themselves received blessings rather than granting, them , and it was Aman'thul's special juju he gave to Nozzy that made it possible. Since Nozzy no lnger has the Titan magic, That alone might make it impossible to repeat.
Blizz really need to put a a soloable story difficulty in raids with the main NPCs of the story as your comrades so casuals don't have to wait weeks to see these. It takes nothing away from the raiders, and the people who just want to pound through the content are happy. It's a lose for literally no one.
Nice new city. I left the game a couple of years ago and I loved both night elves and horde races in general. I can only remember how its interesting how blizzard loves to get the faction that have races that were not inspired by white people cultures (like the alliance races) and make them savages barbarians and forces half of the playerbase to commit genocide after loosing leaders. I left the game at the time because I didnt think it was healthy for me seeing horde leaders being destroyed for nothing, expansion after expansion, and entering the forums to see actual people calling us genocidal barbarians, it was not fun being some excuse for alliance and their races feel free to be the goodies in a heros journey trope and in a fight against "the savages", all that historical/colonization racist excuses bullshit white people loved to tell for the last centuries. That time was when I realized the game not as an immersive world, but as a story build by some NA and EU ppl, nothing more. And I think the devs are still out of touch of their playerbase.
Beautiful cinematic, but Amirdrassil being permanently put on the Dragon Isles almost ruins it all.. Kalimdor is the home of the Night Elves 😞 it’s the opposite side of the world from Ashenvale
Feels cheap to me. New World Tree isn't in Kalimdor, it's on the Dragon Isle.. so isn't distinctly 'Kaldorei'. It isn't a city, it isn't the zone that Teldrassil was.
@@OmegaSoypremeThey weren't. They already retook their lands. The heritage questline was placed in Kalimdor to remind that Night Elves are there and they are doing their duties. Now we are getting a new tree with a new city under it. I am happy about it.
Blizzard saying a people displaced from their home content now can only start healing because they've just abandoned it and 15,000 years of history and culture... is so on brand for blizzard tbh.

It is hillarious to see Tyrande being that devote to a goddess that sent them all to the maw (even if she did not know, they would be still used as a source of power for ardenweald, the only difference was the place they ended up) XD
@@christianbolze7092 Huh??? Elune literally said in the dialogue - I just finished going through SL last week. "I heard your cries, felt your pain, and in the wake of tragedy, sent forth the cascade of souls to sustain you." Directed to the Winter Queen & Tyrande when asked why she didn't answer their calls to save them, and when the Winter Queen asked why she ignored her own pleas to help the drought. She sacrificed her own people, without telling them, to send to the Winter Queen - and Over half of them ended up in the maw. I don't mind the narrative choice, but she did sacrifice them. Let's not pretend she has a mortal moral compass. Perhaps go through the questline again to double check the context? Edit: Also let's neither pretend the Night Elves even wanted to go to the Winter Queen in the first place - they were expecting their Goddess to save them. She didn't, she sent them to help her sister instead. That *IS* in all intentionally purposes - a Sacrifice.
"We have suffered so much" - Tyrande being dumb once again. It's hard to name a race that hasn't suffered on Azeroth... Worgen have suffered significantly more, with the curse + losing Gilneas. Humans have lost their capital city, twice. One to the Scourge and another to the Orcs. Forsaken is kinda self explanatory. Draenei legit lost their entire planet, and was chased for thousand of years by the burning legion. Gnomes lost their entire home as well, plus they're short and I bet that kinda sucks. Blood Elves were almost wiped out by the Scourge. Tauren were near extinction from the Centaur, when the Orcs found them. Orcs were manipulated and forced into servitude of the Burning Legion, causing them to lose their home planet. I could go on and on... It just sounds so dumb when characters are like "Oh it's so sad for me", when almost everyone around them have suffered just as much and in some cases even more..
Honestly... Blizzard promised there would be a final big epic win for the Night Elves that would justify the long journey of suffering and loss they have endured. If they think "Hey, you got back a world tree home for your survivors" is it, I'm very disappointed. Heck, they have a world tree already, Nordrassil. I hope this isn't the end, and patch 10.2.5 will have some final surprise, like "And the souls of those who were within the seed are brought to back to life as playable dryads" or something.
Tbf to the mindset of the time, they had *just* expelled a demonic army that was spilling forth from the Well of Eternity which then essentially nuked Kalimdor to pieces. And Illidan goes and just makes a new one without telling anyone. It's a bit different.
They got driven out of kalimdor and the souls of the dead elves became a new power source for the dragons to keep in their backyard. This is not a win!
@valeclaw1697 War has consequences, you should get over it. People wanna say the game has no bite/consequences, and when it does the other half complain there's too many... But only when it affects the thing they like! Otherwise it's funny, or something. Writing isn't great rn, but I do feel really bad for them dealing with these weirdos.
Eh, the Night Elves did it to the trolls first millenia ago then essentially nuked the continent to pieces. At some point everyone has taken land from someone else.
Exactly, while the logical answer to this dumb writing is they're just lazy to revamp to old zone on kalimdor, but I just can't wrap my mind how this is literally giving the same vibes of the treatment of native people, especially in America, move them out to faraway land, that's isolated from the rest of the world, sound familliar huh? 🤢
@@GOODCHRISTIANBOTTOM tbf it's not like there aren't massive refugee crisises happening right now in the world in several regions. There's not a monopoly on that type of suffering by Native American tribes. You can try to be positive and look at it as a success story for a migrant people displaced by war. It's not the worst message, it's just delivered in Blizzard's typical cartoonish way that saps maturity from the messaging.
War is bad, who knew? Sometimes you don't get happy. Half the fanbase saying blizzard are too soft and the story had no bite/consequences, other half saying the Night elves should revive a burned tree and sing hymns while holding hands. I'm not gonna say the writing is amazing, but I can see why they're having trouble pleasing people.

Who?
@@valeclaw1697 adapt to the world that has moved on from just focusing on Kalimdor. Literally elves with dragons what more do you want from a fantasy.
Where tf is malfurion
In the shadowlands and he comes back later :)
Alright 1,25 x speed looks much better

Elune out here playing the MINE MINE MINE card

Beautiful cinematic, but Amirdrassil being permanently put on the Dragon Isles almost ruins it all.. Kalimdor is the home of the Night Elves 😞 it’s the opposite side of the world from Ashenvale
Feels cheap to me. New World Tree isn't in Kalimdor, it's on the Dragon Isle.. so isn't distinctly 'Kaldorei'. It isn't a city, it isn't the zone that Teldrassil was.

It is hillarious to see Tyrande being that devote to a goddess that sent them all to the maw (even if she did not know, they would be still used as a source of power for ardenweald, the only difference was the place they ended up) XD
She's quite literally the avatar of Elune now, she barely has a choice at this point lol.
Oopsie
Elune did not sacrifice the night elves to die in the first place, she made use of the situation. Thats a lot different.
@@christianbolze7092 And who said that? people really can't read these days man!
The High Pristess Tyrand return.
Where is MALFURION. Ysera went back to the Shadowlands. Give him back now. Have they really forgotten him?!
He is back; there is a new cutscene where Ysera go back to the shadowlands to repay a "debt" to an old friend.
You’re asking for something stupid.
Why is she still worshipping elune?
didn't they imprison Illidan for 10,000 years for what Tyrande just did
The Night Elves admitted what they did was wrong and worked to readmit Highborn Elves and Arcane Mage Elves back into their society.
No, this isn't a new Well of Eternity, and Tyrande didn't kill her own people to deposit this water.
She said she brought water from the temple in Darnassus not the well of Eternity like Illidan
@@Regfife on a technicality, Illidan was just defending himself
Tbf to the mindset of the time, they had *just* expelled a demonic army that was spilling forth from the Well of Eternity which then essentially nuked Kalimdor to pieces. And Illidan goes and just makes a new one without telling anyone. It's a bit different.
