I never had any post-op any swelling and I only shedded about 10% of my grafts. My scabs washed out at about the 2 week mark. So that's when I buzzed my head and thankfully I looked pretty normal from that point on. But my thickening processes is taking longer. I think the hairband is really there to make the demarcation between the swelling and the rest of the face less noticeable. People in public will still notice the band and any bandages on the head, but they're less likely to do a double-take or stare. And covered up, the individual themselves may be less likely to obsess over it or feel too self-conscious.

I also had a bandage on the back of my head, which I had to take off in the evening after the operation. I was given a medical sheet for my pillow, but I was allowed to sleep lying down with a neck support so that I could not turn my head. The transplanted hairs fell out after about two to three weeks. Strangely enough, there were a few hairs in the first row that did not fall out and just started to grow. I was not supposed to do sports until 6 weeks at the earliest, which was terrible for me. After the first 6 months, only a few of the new hairs grew. Then it came so little by little. Interestingly, even after one and a half years, it still grew a little more. According to my clinic, after 12 months all the hair should have grown out. Although I was only transplanted into the receding hairline, I was pretty bald at the back of my head for about two years after the surgery. Little by little, it has become a little thicker again, probably because I have started again with Finasterid.

The more I watch your videos, the more I think my transplant was done by unqualified technicians. I’m 14 months post FUE and they are still preaching I will see density later on. My face swelled up for well over a month to the point where I had black eyes, and I definitely did not recover nearly as quickly as most patients I’ve seen on these videos. I also paid 10,000 for 2,000 grafts, and was told retention would be around 90-95%. I would say it’s more like 60-70% after the 14 months based on my results, and my front hairline is very sparse still, so I have to wear my hair down over my forehead. If anyone is contemplating having fue, I would make sure there is a certified cosmetic surgeon involved. The “technicians” will just take your money and don’t seem to care if you’re happy with the results based on my experience.

Totally unrelated question. I am insecure about my chin and neckline and I think after doing some research that my bottom yaw might be shorter than it should be. I do want plastic surgery for that but I was wondering because I couldn't really find information about it. If that could have anything to do with me feeling like my troath gets a little closed up from time to time. Sorry for the bad english I am from the Netherlands.

If you dont know what that entails, basically a lot of extremely heavy lifts like deadlifts, squats and bench press at the limit of your strength. So its a lot of "head pressure" and high blood pressure from the breathing techniques and effort. is 14 days of rest still enough?

Grafts can only survive outside the body for a few hours. So if you would do 5000 grafts it would take so long to implant them that a lot of them will die before they even end up in your head.
