Sometimes you have to hit them hard with facts about the organizations beginning when Rutherford took over, the false teaching of 1914, stay alive till 1975, child molestation and the two witness rule and the court cases all over the world.
They believe they have the truth and that they only stumble and when they sin is when they get reprimanded aka DFED (disfellowshipped) and shunned.

The whole cusp of their beliefs stand on the 1914 teaching that Jesus came and did his inspection in 1914 and selected the witness I want to say in 1916 or 18 or whatever. But you have to keep in mind that when Christ did his so called inspection and selected them that the them is known still today as the “Bible Students” led by the founder Charles Taze Russel.

I had to reason on begotten with someone.
I realised it was a word I would never use except as regards Jesus.
And also the genealogy that is in Matthew , where the word is used in the context of a physical being having a physical son, which does not apply here.
The word begotten there is used in a physical sense.
When I checked a dictionary, it gives the definition of to bring forth , to generate or to create.
The dictionary says that begotten means created.
Jesus was previously in heaven John 3 : 12 , 13 , and the Bible says that God is a spirit.
John 4 : 24 , it seems we are talking about the generation of a spirit being in heaven , who was transferred to the earth as a human.

    • @paulbrennan4163
      @paulbrennan4163 9 месяцев назад

Yes he does. In Genesis 19:1 it refers to the angels as "the two angels", not "two of the angels". And after these two angels go off to rescue Lot we read about the destuction of Sodom. Now if the trinity is true and we have the Father (who lives in unapproachable light and who no one can see) is in heaven, and it is the Son who is on the earth, then what kind of evidence would we expect to see that YHWH is in two different places?
I think verse 24 answers that question:
"Then the *LORD* rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah - *from the LORD out of the heavens."*

    • @paulbrennan4163
      @paulbrennan4163 8 месяцев назад +1

Proverbs 8 does not say that Jesus was brought forth first. What you have heard is a argument based on what I call "connect-the-dots" theology where you start with a story and then link verses together in order to "prove" that the story is true.
It goes like this: Jesus is called "the wisdom of God" and since this proverbs is about wisdom then it must therefore be about Jesus.
All I see in Proverbs 8 is a personification of wisdom. That's all. It also presents wisdom as a woman, not a man.
And if we are going to argue that wisdom is Jesus, then who on earth is this?
"I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence;" (verse 12)
If Wisdom is an actual person, then who on earth is Prudence? The woman's roommate? It's a ridiculous argument.
But even if we were to take the argument seriously, it hinges on the meaning of the verb "qanah", which they translate as produced, or created. There are two reasons to reject the NWT’s rendering. First, most Bible scholars, think that possess is the best translation of the original language. Therefore, Solomon is saying that God possessed wisdom, not that He created it. If God didn’t create wisdom, then their argument that Jesus was created disappears.
Furthermore, logic demands that the NWT translation be disregarded. Clearly, God could not have "produced" wisdom. Wisdom is one of His essential attributes that he has possessed from eternity. If the NWT is correct, then God lacked wisdom until he "produced" it. Since God is eternal, this means that He eternally existed without the virtue of wisdom until He produced it a finite time ago.
What the Watchtower _always_ does when it tells these kinds of stories is totally ignore what the rest of scripture says, such as the following:
"Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."
Notice the way this verse is worded. John could have just said that Jesus created all things, but he specifically points out that _everything that has been made_ was made by Jesus. It's almost as if John knew in advance that people were going to try to distort what scripture says.
Then we have the fact that Hebrews presents Jesus as the high priest of the new covanant. In order to prove that Jesus' priesthood is eternal, the author shows how Melchizadek's lack of genealogy symbolizes the fact that this office is eternal:
"Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever." (Hebrews 7:3)
Here we see that Jesus is high priest not only in eternity future, but also in eternity past.
And then we have the testimony of Jesus himself:
"Father, glorify me in your presence with *the glory I had with you before the world began."* (John 17:5)
To say "before the world began" is equvalent to saying "before time began," something even secular science acknowledges given the fact that time had to be created at the same time the universe came into existence. So when scripture speaks of things that existed "before time began" (see 2 Timothy 1:9, Titus 1:2), it refers to things that existed outside of time and space.
So the Watchtower claim that Jesus was created is completely false.

which seem to be describing a person.

    • @paulbrennan4163
      @paulbrennan4163 7 месяцев назад

@@janetgillespie6590 Hi Janet, sure, no problem.
That these verses seem to be describing a person is the entire point of personification. Personification is "a type of figurative language that applies human attributes to a non-human entity or inanimate object in order to express a point or idea in a more colorful, imaginative way."
So what could the "point or idea" be here? I would say simply to convey the fact that Jesus not only employed wisdom and knowledge when he created the heavens and the earth, his creation of mankind in particular was done with a great amount of love and joy.
Then, since you mentioned Colossians 1:15 I would like to address that too.
To start with, verse 15 should never be evaluated in isolation, but read in light of the rest of the passage, which has absolutely nothing to do with creation order. What it concerns instead is the supremecy of Christ. It does this, as it does with so many other aspects of the gospel, from a legal perspective.
While some translations render this verse as saying "firstborn OF all creation" others translate it as "firstborn _OVER_ all creation" which if you consider the overall context of the passage is most likely the correct alternative.
While it is easy to get the impression that the word "firstborn" means "first one born", we have to be careful to look at how this word is used elsewhere in scripture. When we do so we see that it actually refers to a legal issue - the firstborn rights of the preeminent male child among multiple brothers - something that is most commonly given to the first one born (hence the name "firstborn"), but not always.
Isaac, for example, was called Abrahams "firstborn", but was not born first, Ishmael was.
Joseph called his first-born son Manasseh and the second son he named Ephraim and yet Jeremiah 31:9 refers to EPHRAIM as "firstborn".
David was actually the _last one born,_ but he was called firstborn too - a title that was _appointed_ to him by God:
“And I will appoint him to be my firstborn,
the most exalted of the kings of the earth.” (Psalm 89:27)
Consequently, there are two main uses of the word. One relating to birth order and the other to divine appointment based on the supremecy of the one being granted firstborn rights. So, just as we always do whenever we have ambiguos words with different meanings, we resolve it by studying the context.

So let's look at the passage again, this time in context:
"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn *over all creation.* For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; *all things have been created through him and for him.* He is *before all things,* and in him all things hold together. And he is *the head of the body,* the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the *supremacy."*
This passage is _all_ about supremacy. Verse 15 should never be separated from the rest of the passage and used as evidence that Jesus was created. Not only does it violate the context, it creates serious contradictions elsewhere in scripture, which I can get into too if you want. Just let me know.

      @@paulbrennan4163 Thank you.
I understand you reference about the legal right of the first born.
But to me it does clearly show Jesus as a created being.
I am aware of the context.
But it does say the image of the invisible God.
Could it not mean that Jesus shares the Father's qualities.
After all Jesus said he sought not to do his own will, but that of his Father who sent him.
Doesn't that sound like his Father is separate and more powerful?

    The Trinity vs. Facts
Some Undeniable Facts to Keep in Mind
The Triune God is never mentioned once in the entire Bible. It is absurd to believe this three-person-God exists but is never once mentioned in the Bible. God is the main character of the Bible and He is mentioned thousands upon thousands of times. Yet there is not a single reference to a Triune God anywhere in the entire Bible. For that reason, Trinitarians resort to the practice of shamelessly imagining their three-person-God into the text by an act of their own will wherever they think they can get away with it.
There is a missing controversy. It is ludicrous to suppose the first Christians (mostly Jews) believed in a three-person-God but no controversy erupted among the Jews concerning this belief. However, we don't even find a hint of anyone at all debating a three-person-God. This shows the earliest Christians did not have such a belief.
The earliest Christian writers of the first two centuries never mention a three-person-God. In fact, one of them for example, Irenaeus about 180 AD, repeatedly insisted only the Father is the true God of Christians. His main argument against the Gnostics was the true identity of the one God. In his five volume work, he never once mentions a three-person-God. He obviously had never heard of such a thing. That these earliest Christians never refer to a three-person-God is very strong evidence that the concept was unheard of. It is preposterous to suppose that during New Testament times, people had come to the shocking realization that their monotheistic God was three persons all along but nobody really thought it was significant enough to talk about. If such a thing had occurred, it would have been front and center of every discussion. It didn't happen. The only thing which did happen is that they believed Jesus was divinized/deified in his resurrection glorification and that is quite true.
The doctrine of the Trinity was created by men. It is a "conclusion" to a human reasoning process of a group of men developing through the late second to the fourth century. That is a historical fact which is there for all to see. During Christological debates of the first two centuries, nobody ever appealed to an apostolic teaching of the Trinity; rather men debated would they thought they should believe. This tells us that a three-person-God is not an apostolic teaching but a later product of of the minds of men and not the God of our Lord Jesus. When men come up with a God of their own making, as Aaron did in the golden calf account, this amounts to an idol crafted by men.
In the Scriptures, Peter tells us that it was the Father who promised to raise up the prophet, His servant-son Jesus (Acts 3:19-26). This promise is found at Deuteronomy 18:15-18 where we find the Father is the one who spoke out of the fire on the mountain to Israel when He gave them the Law and the Father promised to do this because the people were afraid they were going to die if God spoke to them directly. This alone proves Jesus is not God. But even further, these facts tell us it was the Father who spoke out of the fire on the mountain and Moses states the following about He who spoke out of the fire: "Has any people heard the voice of God speaking from the midst of the fire, as you have heard it, and survived? ... the LORD, He is God; there is no other besides Him" (Deut 4:33-35). We are told it was the Father who spoke out of the fire, therefore it is obvious that Moses tells us there is no God but the Father. Again the Trinity is proven false. And again, Jesus and a Jewish scribe agreeably concur that Deuteronomy 4:35 indicates their God is one HE and there is no other but HIM. The evidence against the Trinity here is very decisive.
At 2 Samuel 7:11-14, God promises David that he will seat his descendant on his throne and says, "I will be a Father to him and he will be a Son to Me." The Hebrews writer confirms this was fulfilled in Jesus (Heb 1:5) which tells us that God the Father made this promise to David. David responds to God who made this promise saying, "Yahweh God, there is none like You and no God besides You." There is no God except the One that David is speaking to. The Bible tells us that David was a prophet who spoke under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. And we know he was speaking to the One who made this promise to him and we know it was the Father because we are told it is the Father. No other member of the Trinity could say "I will be a Father to him and he will be a Son to me." Hence, the Scriptures here prove the Trinity is false since David under the inspiration of the Spirit said to the Father, "there is none like You and no God besides You."
In the Bible we are told that God the Father caused Mary to conceive by the power of His Spirit. However, Trinity doctrine has one person conceiving Jesus (the 3rd person of the Trinity) but another person turns out to be Jesus' father (the Father). That's ridiculous. Whoever conceives/begets is the Father. But not in the whacky world of Trinitarianism. The same problem exists concerning born again believers. They are begotten of the Spirit (3rd person of the Trinity) yet the first person of the Trinity turns out to be their Father. Ludicrous.
In the doctrine of the Trinity, you cannot say the Lord Jesus is the Holy Spirit or the Trinity is destroyed (you would be saying the 2nd person is identical to the 3rd person). However, 2 Corinthians 3:17 states "the Lord is the Spirit" and the facts of the immediate context overwhelmingly shows Paul is saying the risen Jesus is the Holy Spirit. In fact, he states outright that he is preaching Jesus Christ as Lord (4:5) in a discussion concerning the new ministry of the Holy Spirit (3:1-18) proving that Paul's words "the Lord is the Spirit" do mean "the Lord Jesus is the Spirit." The Trinity directly contradicts this Scripture. And there are several other passages which indicate the risen Jesus is the Spirit.
In the doctrine of the Trinity, the divine nature is defined as having certain attributes or characteristics. If someone is not omniscient then they don't have a divine nature because omniscience is one of the things that defines that someone does have a divine nature. And in Trinitarian doctrine, if you don't have a divine nature you are not God because this is what defines you as God in this doctrine. Jesus tells us that neither he nor the Holy Spirit know the day and hour of his return since he emphatically affirmed that only the Father knows that day and hour (Matthew 24:36). Trinity doctrine directly contradicts this passage which again shows the Trinity is false.
Having been called "Good TEACHER," Jesus denied he is God when he said, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone" (Mark 10:18). Since there is only one God, Jesus was necessarily referring to his God. If Jesus was not referring to his God, what God was he referring to? There is only one God. The word "good" was an adjective for "teacher" in this account and that is what Jesus was responding to. Jesus tells us his teaching was not his but his God and Father's teaching. See John 7:15-18; James 1:17 and John 3:27. That he was referring to his God is an inescapable fact. There is only one God and his God is that one God.
Jesus demonstrates to us that the Shema command (Deut 6:4) is referring to the Father alone since he only recognized the Father in order to observe this command. He agrees with a Jewish scribe that "the Lord is one" means there is not other but HE/HIM, that is, we are informed that the word "one" means one HE (Mark 12:28-34) contrary to Trinitarian claims that it means one divine nature/ousia (that is the only way the three persons are one in their docrtrine). Jesus also demonstrates the Father alone is the God of Israel since it says, "Hear O ISRAEL, the Lord OUR God, the Lord is one." The God of all Israel is therefore identical to Jesus Christ's God, the Father alone. Jesus along with every other Israelite was required to obey this command. We know he did it correctly and he did it by recognizing only his Father as the God of Israel. These facts tell us beyond any doubt that the one God of the Shema is the Father alone. Otherwise, Jesus knowingly did not obey this command correctly.
Since there is only one God, the only God is necessarily Jesus Christ's God and no other. Trinitarian doctrine acknowledges that his God is not a three-person-being and only the Father is his God (not the 3rd person of the Tinity either). Jesus Christ's God is the Father alone. What other God is there besides Jesus Christ's God? If the one God of the Scriptures is not his God, then what God is? The Scriptures tell us there is none besides his God. Hence, only his God is the true God which again demonstrates the Trinity is false.
Jesus Christ's God stated Himself that He alone is God and nobody else. The Scriptures tell us specifically it was the Father who said that He alone is God and no one else. In fact, Jesus himself tells us specifically that it was the Father who declared He is God and there is no one else. By His own statements, and the confirming testimony of Jesus, God the Father ruled out the Trinity. If you won't believe God the Father who will you believe? If God the Father Himself declares that He alone is God and nobody but Him is God and it doesn't convince you the Trinity is false, nothing will.
Another fact. Trinitarians typically don't care about facts if the facts do not suit their doctrine of the Trinity. You can observe that one for yourself. And you will.
The Scriptural evidence that the one God is only the Father of Jesus is plentiful, overwhelming and decisive.

      GOD:
      "Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him WHO RIDES ON THE CLOUDS;
rejoice before him-his name is the Lord." (Psalm 68:4)
      JESUS:
"People will see the Son of Man coming in clouds" (Mark 13:26)
Who is it who will ride on the clouds according to Psalm 68?
      GOD:
"Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God." (Psalm 31:5)
      JESUS:
"While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." (Acts 7:59)
      GOD:
"Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the LORD." (Jeremiah 23:24)
      JESUS
"He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe." (Ephesians 4:10)
      GOD:
"I am the First and the Last. (Isaiah 48:12)
      JESUS:
"I am the First and the Last." (Revelation 1:17)
      GOD:
"The King of kings and Lord of lords" (1 Timothy 6:15)
      JESUS:
"The King of kings and Lord of lords" (Revelation 17:14)
How many King of kings and Lord of lords are there?
      GOD:
"We are.. the FLOCK under HIS care. Today, if only you would hear HIS VOICE" (Psalm 95:7)
      JESUS:
"MY SHEEP listen to MY VOICE; I know them, and they follow ME." (Phil 2:9-11)
      GOD:
"..you ALONE know every human heart (1 Kings 8:39)
      JESUS:
"He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person." (John 2:25)
      GOD:
"I put to death and I bring to life" (Deuteronomy 32:29)
      JESUS:
"And I hold the keys of death and Hades"
Kind of sounds like Jesus is relatively similar to God, don't you think?
Even Jesus compared himslef to the Father saying that to see him was to see the Father, that anyone who welcomes him welcomes the Father, anyone who rejects him rejects the Father, anyone who loves him loves the Father, anyone who hates him hates the Father, and anyone who accepts him accepts the Father.
Here are some the other things that are said about Jesus:
Mighty God, Creator of the universe, God with us, Lord, King of Kings, he sits with the Father on same throne, fills the entire universe, forgives sins that only God can forgive, has all authority in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth, in him dwells all the fullness of the diety, is greater than the temple, he is the Word of Life, the Bread of life, he is worshipped, prayed to, he is the upholder of all things, he sustains the universe with his powerful word, will raise the dead and execute judgment, claimed that to know him was to know God, to see him was to see God, to receive him was to receive God, to believe him was to believe in God and to honor him was to honor God, and to hate him was to hate God.
What the unitarian wants us to believe is that God created a human being that is exactly like him and who fills the entire universe but is nothing more than an idol to those people who honor him as they do the Father.
*"In the Bible we are told that God the Father caused Mary to conceive by the power of His Spirit. However, Trinity doctrine has one person conceiving Jesus (the 3rd person of the Trinity) but another person turns out to be Jesus' father (the Father). That's ridiculous."*
*FACT:* What is ridiculous is that whenever Jesus does something that only God can do the Watchtower turns him into a handpuppet, but when God does something through the Holy Spirit there is some kind of problem! That the Father does things through the Holy Spirit is totally in line with what the doctrine of the Trinity teaches - that all three are ONE God. They can do things separate from each other, and they can do them in unity. Stop trying to create a problem that does not exist.
*"2 Corinthians 3:17 states "the Lord is the Spirit" and the facts of the immediate context overwhelmingly shows Paul is saying the risen Jesus is the Holy Spirit."*
*FACT:* You are resorting to a SELF-DEFEATING argument here! If Paul is REALLY saying that Jesus is the Holy Spirit then how could your polytheistic religion be true? That would mean that Jesus was an impersonal force!
And as usual, the context is butchered for the sake of pushing Watchtower theology into scripture. If you read this chapter _in context_ you will see that what Paul is writing about is how whenever Moses spoke with YHWH he would remove a veil from his face:
"When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face. But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out." (Exodus 34:33-34)
That is why he says that "whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away."
This is a HUGE problem for you!
If you are going to argue that Jesus is the "Lord" in this chapter then you would have to conclude that the one Moses turned to with an unveiled face was _ALSO_ Jesus. And it WAS! Just as Paul pointed out here:

"For there is no difference between *Jew* and *Gentile* - the *SAME LORD* is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him" (Romans 10:12)
There isn't one Lord in the Old Testament, and another Lord in the New. Why? For the same reason that there isn't one God in the OT and another in the NT. There is only ONE God, ONE Lord, and ONE Spirit.
To claim that Jesus IS the Holy Spirit causes MULTIPLE problems! Hardly anything would make sense!
The only thing that does makes sense is that all three members, although being separate persons, are united in a SPIRITUAL BOND in much the same way as when a man and a woman get married.
*"In the doctrine of the Trinity, the divine nature is defined as having certain attributes or characteristics. If someone is not omniscient then they don't have a divine nature because omniscience is one of the things that defines that someone does have a divine nature."*
*FACT:* The popular teaching that God is omniscient (all-knowing), is derived from Greek philosophy and mythology about their gods. Omniscience is NOT what the Bible teaches.
Infinite knowledge, on the other hand, allows for God’s sovereignty. God can _choose_ what He knows. If He does not want to know about your sins, for example, He can "throw them in the sea of forgetfulness".
"For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." (Jeremiah 31:34)
"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more." (Isaiah 43:25)
The fact that God says that it is "for his own sake" he remembers no more, indicates that it is an act of deliberate self-limitation. In other words, it isn't because God _cannot_ know, but because he _chooses_ not to know. God selectively remembers sins. God is love, and because of his love the sins of those he loves are forgotten:
"Love... keeps no record of wrongs..." (1 Corinthians 13:5)
Furthermore, attributes do not define what kind of being you are. What you are is defined by what nature you have. Arms an legs for example are attributes of a human being. Chopping off your limbs does not mean that you cease to be a human being any more that Jesus not knowing the time of his return proves that he is not God.
*"Having been called "Good TEACHER," Jesus denied he is God when he said, "Why do you call me good?"*
*FACT:* That's ANOTHER anti-trinitarian argument that totally backfires! If we pull this verse out of context it might seems as if Jesus is denying his deity, but if we look at the previous verse and the rest of this passage it tells a completely different story.
First, let's look at verse 18:
"A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" (Luke 18:18)
Basically, what this man is asking Jesus is what "good" works he had to do in order to be saved. Then the question Jesus asks him is obviously rhetorical - in order to get this guy to realize that he needs a saviour. And we know that the question is rhetorical because not only does Jesus refer to himself as the "good" shepherd, we know from the REST of scripture that he was morally perfect.
In any case, Jesus then goes through the commandments giving this guy ample opportunity to justify himself. But then comes the cold shower that devastates him. Jesus tells him that in order to be _perfect_ he needs to give up everything he owns and give it to the poor.
This even astonishes Jesus disciples who then ask him "who then can be saved?"

What Jesus points out is that for a man to have the ability to keep God's moral standard is _IMPOSSIBLE_ - it is only God who can do this:
Jesus replied, "What is impossible with man is possible with God."
Jesus said that to honor him was to honor the father. He said that anyone who has seen him has seen the Father. Scripture says that Jesus is the exact representation of God's being. Saying that Jesus isn't good is equivalent to saying that the father is not good.
*"Since there is only one God, the only God is necessarily Jesus Christ's God and no other. ..."*
*FACT:* Since this, and the rest of your bloated comment presupposes unitarianism and then appeals to it in order to invalidate the trinity it is nothing more than a rant that begs the question. You cannot invalidate someone else's view by presupposing your own!
Instead what I will leave you with is a question.
In the following passage, who is being sent, and who is sending him?
"For *this is what the Lord Almighty (YHWH) says:* “After the Glorious One has *sent ME* against the nations that have plundered you-for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye- I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them. *Then you will know that the Lord Almighty (YHWH) has sent me."* (Zechariah 2:7-9)
Or in the next two verses. Who is being sent, and who is sending him?
"For *I am coming,* and I will live among you,” *declares the LORD (YHWH).* “Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that *the Lord Almighty has sent me to you."* (Zechariah 2:10-11)
