Thanks for uploading this video, it saved me from buying a new dishwasher. I was about to give up on repairing my 14 year old Bosch dishwasher, I thought it might be a solenoid at first because all I could hear was water constantly going on/off, but then I pulled it out and saw it was filling/draining so was about to give up, as it's old, did a search on the web and watched this video, have just replaced the part and working great. The part was only £15.00 so well worth it. Thanks again for uploading this very clear instructions video, so many things get thrown away when they could probably be repaired easily.
Many thanks for this great video. I successfully changed the impeller jug and I am now enjoying the sound of a working dishwasher. That’s twice you’ve helped out in as many months. When I’m next paid you’re due some beers from me. All the best!
Absolutely gem of a video. I had read all the other tips about tipping and cleaning the float, etc, but none of them worked. I ordered an impellor jug for £12 and thanks to this video it took about 15 minutes to fit. The fault is now cleared. Thanks.

Excellent video. The advice was spot on and helped me diagnose and fix the fault in my Bosch dishwasher. It was a faulty Impeller Jug as shown in the video. Fixed for the total price of £12.40 for the part! Thank you.
This worked for me too, just as others said. I had tried all other tips but my Bosch dishwasher was still filling and draining with the check water light on. Part cost £12 plus postage and saved me a fortune. Very clear step by step instruction. Many thanks

Thanks, our classixx is back alive after 5 years, did not realize it was that a easy job, thanks to your video without which i could have ended up replacing our dishwasher.
Just a side note... If you aren't getting any pulses out of the impeller/pulse unit there is a $1 reed sw in the housing which may not be working, my reed sw glass housing was cracked. Remove the plastic pulse unit as shown in the video. Where you remove the electrical connection plug, that is the circuit board that has the reed switch soldered to it. There is a small plastic clip holding the circuit board in place, lift the plastic clip/retainer with your finger nail and the circuit board will slide out and reveal the reed switch. Solder in a new one and you're good to go. No need to purchase a complete unit, just replace the reed switch. Great video by the way, I couldn't have tracked down the fault without it.
Can't thank you enough for you brilliant explanation! I was also about to go out and buy a new dishwasher when I found your video. Even though I have another Bosch model I bought a cylindrical flow meter, replaced it and everything was back to normal.
Update to post below - part arrived today (Saturday) and was fitted in 10 mins on my Siemens IQ100 - and guess what - already on a wash and working! You're a legend! Thank you.

Many many many thanks for this, actually had a new dishwasher in my shopping basket when I spotted this. £24 for a new genuine part and 20 minutes later and it’s all working. Might need to renew the hoses next as they’re a bit brittle.
Fixed my dishwasher today thanks to your video! It's been up for awhile but sure came in handy. Was about to throw away a perfectly good dishwasher for a 20€ part (I am in Spain)

This is an excellent video and it worked for me. Most advice about a Bosch dishwasher constantly filling and emptying suggests a stuck float valve and tipping the machine about 45 degrees to release the stuck valve. That did not work for me so I took off the top and the left panel exposing the filling matrix and the float valve. The float valve chamber was indeed gunged up but clearing that did not cure the problem. I then noticed that the top of the filling matrix was gunged up. There is what appears to be a float valve at the top of the top of the filling matrix whiich was also gunged up. ( I have no idea what this valve does.) Anyway, I cleaned out the filling matrix (not a straightforward job) so the float valve moved freely. Still the original problem remained. Anyway, saw this video and bought the part. Because the machine was stripped down, it was literally a ten minute job to replace the flow meter. Put the matrix back ensuring no leaks and voila the machine works with no problem at all. As I said, great video. Just one more thing which may or may not be co-incidental. This is an old dishwasher that has given years of trouble free service and probably has received the TLC it deserves. However, about three weeks ago, I used for the first time ever, dishwasher cleaner. Whether this deep cleaning process caused debris to get into parts causing clogging I obviously don't know but it would be interesting to hear if anybody else has suffered from such a co-incidence.

Thanks for the excellent video. Solved it for me too. I only needed to remove the water flow meter, blew through it a few times to make sure it was spinning, then replaced it again. Could also have been a bad electric contact on the connector, who knows. But the process was enough to solve the problem.
Thank you soooo much! Bought a new flow meter and followed your instructions and it now works a charm. Thank you so much, I was almost going to go out and buy a new dishwasher 😊
Thanks for a very informative video. My Bosch doest have a separate valve, it appears to be moulded into the water inlet tank. I could see what looked like red cabbage in a check valve section of the tank which was surrounded by other gunge. I got water flowing after a lot of flushing, but the cabbage bits wouldn't shift, so I got a new tank which solved the issue.

Constant filling & emptying . try this first! I found also happens if the water intake pressure is too high, turned my tap to halfway. perfect! For constant drain pumping check that internal float is not stuck up with food debris , wiggled mine flushed some water around , now works fine
Thanks a lot for this helpfull video! My dishwasher is working well again. It leaked heavily. The float safety system didn't work good. I put the base plate off and back on together with the float switch making sure that I got the float switch on correctly (+ the 2 slots sitting over the system). Thanks again.
Thanks so much, spent most of the day trying all other advice re "check water light". I've had all side, top, and bottom panels off. Filling ok empties ok, but the motor just wouldn't run(not jammed or anything like that. I had given up, and put it out in the garden ready for the tip, then saw this clip, and thought, Well for £25 it's worth a go. Popped out this morning to a spares shop, and took the old one with me, the bloke behind the counter took one look at it and said "Bosch?! We do alot of them, if this don't fix it it'll be the pcb, which case chuck it". But to my(our) delight it now works. Great many thanks.

Thank you so much!!!! this was my exact problem! thank you so much for such a clear video and such a great explanation for what was going wrong and how to fix it.
Very helpful video - I'm learning more about dishwashers than I ever wanted to. My problem is not quite the same though: the drain pump keeps running without the machine filling. I suspect the float switch is either faulty or needs cleaning but I can't see how to remove it and I don't want to force it. The dishwasher's internals are identical to the one in the video.

Nice video thanks. Mine is a BEKO and it turned out to be a broken flow sensor wire near the door hinge. Knowing what the flow meter was allowed me to diagnose via continuity checking. Saved me a new dishwasher, as throwing parts at it would have made no difference.
Thankyou. Very clear. My Siemens dishwasher is filling and draining continuously. It doesn't overfill but as soon as the water is filling in the drain is pumping it out. Does this sound like the same issue. Flow switch?

Hello! I'm watching your videos! You do perfect job! I'm from Greece and I have the same problem with my dishwasher...I changed the flow meter but nothing changed....could you help me please? Thank you!!!
You can fix these flow meters for about £2.50. If you pull out the orange plug carefully you will see a PCB. This PCB is held into the white housing by a small plastic clip. Snap the clip and pull out the PCB. On the PCB there is a small read switch (greenish in colour) remove this and replace with on from Maplin (Part no CL38) To test it is working lightly blow into the flow meter once reassembled and you should hear a small clicking sound. If you do you have done it.
I did the same as you, now it works a treat. I was a bit sceptical as the old one didn't appear faulty, it was giving the right readings on a meter during fills, but there seemed to be nothing to lose in paying just a couple of quid for new one.
Helpful video. My bosch diswasher stopped working, showing a flashing indicator light on 'Check water' and'Rinse Aid'' at the same time. I checked filters but all Ok. There doesn't seem to me a kink in the supply line so I'm stumped. Will the rinse aid light stop the machine from working? Thanks
Your video's are top rate mate I have just purchased a used Bosch Dishwasher model she44c06uc My machine is stuck on draining, even with the door open it's running on drain mode. I will be looking at your video today an with hope this is the problem and the fix. Also inside the dishwasher in the tub, on the right hand side there is a factory made hole. is there supposed to be a cover. On the floor of the tub I found a plastic piece that seems to fit the hole. The piece has threads, but there is no threads in which to screw the piece I found. There is a factory made hole on inside the tub on the right hand side. water will surely escape. I did not notice this piece only after I ran the machine once, and now since then, the machine has never worked. Please note there is no water on the floor. How odd I think.... There is a BEER in it for you mate
This is a great video and I managed to get the top and sides off but am still confused as to where the problem lies. I have a slim line Bosch SPS40C12GB/07 machine which does not have an impeller jug as per the video. What I did notice when taking the side of is that the plastic casing holding the water was already full! So when the cycle starts the inlet keeps sending in water and the plastic casing sends the water into an overflow chamber which routes to a circular grill inside the left of the dishwasher which is causing it to flood and the check water light to come on. For some reason even resetting the machine drains the water from the inside but not from the side chambers where it is stored. I'm wondering if I need an Aquastop or a reed switch for the flow meter? Just to confirm the flow meter wheel does spin when the water comes in.
+Vishal Bhatt if anyone was wondering, I managed to fix it myself in the end by ordering www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/product/Contact/00611317. It was broken and therefore not able to tell the machine to stop taking more water which was causing the plastic water tank on the side to overfill and overflow into the dishwasher chamber. Took all of 30seconds to replace once the top and side panels came off. Thank you to chap in the video for helping me troubleshoot it!

Seem to have an almost identical model, but side tank looks blocked on the feed top right near the waste flow - do you have videos /manuals on removing the side tank to clean/replace?
Hello. Is possible you could help me regarding a dishwasher. I have replaced the floor switch and had no water at the bottom of the dishwasher. But replaced the switch just incase. But still it's going into anti flood mode.
My friend is asking me to help repair their dishwasher it's a Electrolux ESL 67040R She says its stuck in the draining stage so won't move on to the filling stage. says it was temperamental for a while but now stuck in that mode. She is going to order both the float switch and the pressure stat switch. I think she has done well to get this far alone. the shop told her it was the main board and wanted her to buy a new machine. Any ideas?
Many thanks for the very informative video. Question, how does it work, I mean how does the machine know how much water is going in without any sort of sensor, after all it is just a spinning wheel????
There is a sensor attached to it, it's the little very delicate plug on the end. Later models have done away with the spinning wheel and looks almost like a miniature circuit board.
Is it necessary to remove the base plate to change the flow meter? In this video, it looks like the base plate was removed only to show viewers where everything was located.
hi I have an almost identical Neff machine. It never fills, water pressure is fine, inlet valve has been swapped, but there seems to be no power across the solenoid (which is on the end of the lead, aquastop) each of the purple leads has 240v to earth nut not across. I am baffled, any help most appreciated

Hi! Could you please help me with IFB Neptune dishwasher? It keeps on draining after the first detergent cleaning cycle and does not switch to the next cycle (filling water for rinsing). I saw a video of other brand dishwasher that has water level mechanism which, gets clogged and does not come down to desired level to trigger the next cycle. Please help. If you already have a video on this fault in IFB please let me know the link. Thanks.
Hi, I have a Bosch Classixx dishwasher - the problem is regardless of which program you select the drain pump runs for 30 seconds, stops for 10 seconds then repeats - it does this over and over never getting to the fill cycle. There is no water in the dishwasher and the float switch underneath is not activated. I beleive it is meant to do this 4 times when you run a program to make sure there is no residual water in it but it never stops. Any ideas?
Hi my Bosch ecosilence integrated dishwasher does not fill. Error e24, check water. I have completely dismantled it , pump seems to be working and draining, at least I think so. How do you check if it is draining properly ? So the problem could be water fill in. Water pressure and valve working ok, no kink on pipe. Would it be the I do not know what you call it , the part at the water valve , sort of some solenoid (with long electric lid going to dishwasher) ? How do you replace that .
+Hugi Hugo try running machine on cycle with it emptying into a bucket. the first 30 seconds when you start a program should empty so put some water in it before you start

Thanks for this very helpful video. I have ordered the jug and awaiting delivery. I have a question regarding my particular Bosch integrated dishwasher model SGV53E03GB/55. The dishwasher won't stop pumping when I open the door, I have to switch it off. Every light on the control panel is lit. Could there be another problem, perhaps caused by the constant empty cycle running unchecked?

Hello, I have a BOSCH SGS4332GB/17 that won't stop filling. My appliance doesn't have a flow meter. The float and water level switches seem to work so it keeps filling and draining all the time even after end of program and/or reset. What can be the problem? Thanks.

Hi ! I have LG dishwasher. I’ve replaced the bearings for the circulation water pump & fixed it back, but when i operate the machine the arms not rotating, although the water level is good & there is water getting out from both arms but not rotating . So Could you please help me how to fix it? by theway i found that the VARIO MOTOR coil is damaged.

Fantastic! glad we could help
Best instruction video ever seen. This guy deserves a beer or more.

Many many many thanks for this, actually had a new dishwasher in my shopping basket when I spotted this. £24 for a new genuine part and 20 minutes later and it’s all working. Might need to renew the hoses next as they’re a bit brittle.
Very nice demo for replacing water level sensor. Superb. Thanks a lot

It worked perfectly for me, thank you for the help. It is the Christmas break and we could not get anyone to fix it.
I got water flowing after a lot of flushing, but the cabbage bits wouldn't shift, so I got a new tank which solved the issue.
glad your sorted Thank you For leaving a comment this is for you ruclips.net/user/shortse432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's is what keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
Constant filling & emptying . try this first!
I found also happens if the water intake pressure is too high, turned my tap to halfway. perfect!
For constant drain pumping check that internal float is not stuck up with food debris , wiggled mine flushed some water around , now works fine
Great instructions and point the problem precisely. Thank you so much for your awesome video.
Have a great xmas and new year

You saved me a lot of dosh:D
Very helpful video - I'm learning more about dishwashers than I ever wanted to. My problem is not quite the same though: the drain pump keeps running without the machine filling. I suspect the float switch is either faulty or needs cleaning but I can't see how to remove it and I don't want to force it. The dishwasher's internals are identical to the one in the video.

Thanks, but I know how to get to it but I don't know how to remove it. Does it just pull out, unscrew or what?
Nice video thanks. Mine is a BEKO and it turned out to be a broken flow sensor wire near the door hinge. Knowing what the flow meter was allowed me to diagnose via continuity checking. Saved me a new dishwasher, as throwing parts at it would have made no difference.
Thankyou. Very clear. My Siemens dishwasher is filling and draining continuously. It doesn't overfill but as soon as the water is filling in the drain is pumping it out. Does this sound like the same issue. Flow switch?
Many thanks. Worked a treat

On the PCB there is a small read switch (greenish in colour) remove this and replace with on from Maplin (Part no CL38)
To test it is working lightly blow into the flow meter once reassembled and you should hear a small clicking sound. If you do you have done it.
I did the same as you, now it works a treat.
I was a bit sceptical as the old one didn't appear faulty, it was giving the right readings on a meter during fills, but there seemed to be nothing to lose in paying just a couple of quid for new one.
No you can't. It was the bearings that went wrong in mine!
Thanks How-2! I did exactly that and it worked! So proud :)
I turned mine upside down for 1 minute. Turned it back and worked fine ( bench top model)
Thanks
Your video's are top rate mate I have just purchased a used Bosch Dishwasher model she44c06uc
My machine is stuck on draining, even with the door open it's running on drain mode.
Excellent video and explanation

Seem to have an almost identical model, but side tank looks blocked on the feed top right near the waste flow - do you have videos
/manuals on removing the side tank to clean/replace?
Hi, my identical machine has the water check light on. It may just nee a clean, how do i know if I need to replace anything or just clean it?
Thanks voor het video's 👍 bravo
Hello. Is possible you could help me regarding a dishwasher. I have replaced the floor switch and had no water at the bottom of the dishwasher. But replaced the switch just incase.
But still it's going into anti flood mode.
My friend is asking me to help repair their dishwasher it's a Electrolux ESL 67040R
She says its stuck in the draining stage so won't move on to the filling stage. says it was temperamental for a while but now stuck in that mode. She is going to order both the float switch and the pressure stat switch. I think she has done well to get this far alone. the shop told her it was the main board and wanted her to buy a new machine.
Any ideas?
To test it is working lightly blow into the flow meter once reassembled and you should hear a small clicking sound. If you do you have done it.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Hi I have a Bosch SMS4HAW40G and it’s saying on the app water detected and machine has stop , I understand the workings of the hose and as in a plumber that hose can’t be the problem because if the hose was split it would stop straight away , this seems to be at the end of a program possibly with 5 or ten minutes left on the cycle , it says e61 I think in the display , I reboot the machine and it’s still there , but if I unplug the machine pull it out and raise the back it clears itself , would appreciate any advice ty

Hi! Could you please help me with IFB Neptune dishwasher? It keeps on draining after the first detergent cleaning cycle and does not switch to the next cycle (filling water for rinsing). If you already have a video on this fault in IFB please let me know the link. Thanks.

Hi,
I have a Bosch Classixx dishwasher - the problem is regardless of which program you select the drain pump runs for 30 seconds, stops for 10 seconds then repeats - it does this over and over never getting to the fill cycle.

Hello, I have a BOSCH SGS4332GB/17 that won't stop filling. My appliance doesn't have a flow meter. The float and water level switches seem to work so it keeps filling and draining all the time even after end of program and/or reset. What can be the problem? Thanks.
