Fat Male Lions | Safari Journal | Marataba | South Africa

One of the fattest lions I have seen in a very long time, was on this very day. Marataba Safari Lodge played host to yet another incredible lion sighting.
2 of the then dominant male lions approached a watering hole fresh from feeding on a giraffe from the day before.
FULL bellied and uncomfortable these guys came down for a drink and needless to say lay next to the water for the remainder of the day.
This is not uncommon behaviour for lions especially after a big meal, they tend to digest before setting off on another territorial patrol.
