this is far more helpful than the official troubleshooting videos Bissell have on their channel. I was on the verge of returning my little green today too lol. Thank you!
Had to take mine all apart just to find the pump motor was all rusted up and not spinning at all when power was applied. I took the motor off and put it in vinegar and let it sit all night long. Took a wire brush next morning and cleaned the motor off of the main rust. I then went at it with WD-40 and again it got more rust off and sprayed inside the motor real well. I ended up cleaning off 90% of the rust off the main body and was able to clean the inside of the motor and got it freed up and spinning again. Blew the whole thing with air pressure real well and tried it out and it ran like a charm again. Spray came up to full blast again. I alos blew out the main hose with air from a compressor through it. Works great now. Found in garbage, fixed it, and now have it working.
That's awesome! Sounds like your very mechanically inclined. Did you have to buy any replacement parts? Glad you were able to get it working again and saved it from the junk yard!
Parts are available for this unit but I didn't need to buy anything to get it working once more. Labor done on it paid off as we had a waste water flood less than a week before on our main floor of the house with the main sewer backing up. The flood out left dirty water stains in our rug just outside our main floor washroom and this little rug/upholstery cleaning removed all those stains with no tell-tale stains remaining which to me made fixing this unit quite profitable. Saved me from buying a new rug. A new replacement pump motor for the unit would have cost me $47 on Amazon which wasn't expensive if required to get it working.@@MyProjectWeekend
Your video should be a 'must view' before starting to use this machine. I was so frustrated when the water didn't come out, and it was brand new. Thank you for posting this-it works!!
Own the exact one. Glad I came across this video! I use mine hours a day (no joke) cleaning cars and I unclogged it and bought a new wand! Best little extractor!
Been looking for answers for my barkbath, there are none. They both are made the same way, so this should do it! I’m a groomer and use the barkbath in my work. Very informative. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video.I bought this same Bissell at the Goodwill basically new for 10 dollars. I followed your instructions to pump the tank and to sit the tank up higher,Thank You It Works!!!
Bought this and was super disappointed when the sprayer wasn't using much force. I was going to return it. Tried the troubleshooting methods mentioned here, and it works great now. Thank you!
Wow. I watched your video for 15 seconds and fixed the issue. Thank you!!! I’ve been frustrated for months about this and was just about to give up after watching the Bissell video that did not help at all. Found this and voila. Thanks a million!
@@MyProjectWeekendhi mr.drew i hav a pet pro bissel 2 questions why does the nozzle handhandle doesnt suck the dirty water and also do you wash the handle shampoo nozzle with inside the bucket so all the dirt wint get stuck
Hi this was a helpful video, I was able to figure out that I do not have a clog. However, priming the hose did not result in the sprayer working when positioned above the tank. Any idea what I should check further?
Hiiiiii thank youu you fixed 2 of my issues the leaking with your other video, I ordered replacements for tanks and then it was still not spraying and today I took it apart like you said and did the prime of the tank and it worked! My issue was soapy tube, too much solution so now I will use more water and not so much solution
I got the pet deluxe version and the water was only coming out a little bit. Ended up I had to disassemble the whole main machine to find that the water tube was pinched up in the inside casing. taped it down so it couldn't go back to the pinch spot and put everything back together, now it works fine.
The sprayer pumps are rusting inside the machine. If your not using your green machine often, it rusts. Water + non stainless metal = rust. For those of you that don't clean often, say just around the holidays for example, stay clear of this product. The interior spray pump needs to be in use regularly to avoid the rust issue. Just scroll down to waynedavies post and read his fix.
For those who have water with gravity but no pressure when spraying, read this comment! If you are not very mechanically inclined or you are scared to take apart the machine, have someone assist or take pictures as you disassemble. 1) Remove the back plastic brackets (these hold the sprayer and the power cord respectively) 2) Remove both empty tanks and remove the screws that are at the below where the tank was sitting. One is on the side of a big box looking thing and the other 2 are on a little clip. 3) Remove the screws that are in the handle (2) 4) The whole plastic assembly should now be removable. Remove the 2 wires that connect to the power button (remember which goes to which) and you will see: - Big white thing (this is the pump that gets the water into the dirty tank) - A little motor in a white plastic bracket. (this is the motor that puts pressure to the spray nozzle) The issue Is likely one of two things: A) The big motor is clogged full of hair (you can remove the 3 bolts in the assembly and lift it out and clean the bottom of the motor and the part where the water gets sucked through) B) the little motor is rusted / doesn't spin freely. - For me, the fix was this: I removed the motor from the bracket and disconnected the wires. Then I took a pair of pliers and spun the needle at the end of the motor back and forth and multiple times to break free any possible dust, rust or anything causing it to not spin. After reassembling everything in reverse order, BE SURE TO TIGHTEN EVERYTHING AS TIGHT AS YOU CAN BY HAND WITHOUT OVERTIGHTENING (trust me, you will have to take it all back apart to retighten so it doesn't leak). Let me know if this helped you by liking. If you have any questions I can try to answer in the replies.
Thanks for typing this all out, I do have this issue but tried all of this and none of it work. And I didn’t find hair or rust it looks brand new still. I’ve only used it once but it was last year. Does this mean the motor isn’t working any more? I even took the entire bottom off thinking I would find some tubing down there that had an issue but nothing. Thanks
@@jaysweets8825 you can also try making sure the nozzle that supplies the water isn’t clogged. It runs through the hose the attachment is connected to. You can try taking the hose handle apart and checking if water comes out when you press on it. Can you give me more details of exactly what happens when you use your machine?
So the water comes out like how yours does when the machine is off but when I turn it on it isn’t forceful at all. There is no power behind the water. Would that be the pump then?
HI. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. I LOST THE SPRING THAT ALLOWS THE WATER TO COME OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE CLEAN WATER TANK. WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE SPRING SO I CAN TRY AND FIND A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT SPRING.
Drew. My issue is that all of a sudden, my green machine spells like something is burning. Like burning plastic or something. Have you run across that? I just purchased it less than 2 months ago so it's not very old. The cord doesn't seem frayed.
Anyone have an issue where the little white spring-loaded “x” in the black nipple on the reservoir is recessed in the nipple? So when the reservoir sits flush, the thing that usually pushes to release the water doesn’t go far enough to release it. How do I get this spring loaded unstuck or back to original position?
My problem is that almost all the water is leaking through the spray head even when I don’t press the spray button. 😢 Is brand new, not sure why is leaking
Did you get yours working again? I’ve got videos for other carpet cleaners. Unfortunately the way they’re all built the hose on all of them need to be primed from time to time.

Nice, came to say something similar. Great video
Totally agree. The official video is so trivial. I completely see how this works now. No surprises when I go to fix it...
