NIce! Thank you! I bought one of these pro-heat machines at a low price thinking i got a great deal. Turned out, a year later when i went to actually use the thing, it didn't spray! I had been swindled! I thought for sure it would need a pump too and was looking for a video how to replace the pump when i found your video. Turned out my valve was just clogged with deposits too! Cleaned the valve, now it works mint! You saved me a bunch of time and money, thanks man.
Thanks Man! I found you because my little green machine wouldn't spray from the nozzle after over a year in the closet. I had no idea they may need to be primed after sitting for a long time and completely drying out. Holding the unit above the nozzle and depressing the trigger got water pumping in about 3 seconds and I was back in business. This is one of those tools that when you need it, nothing else is even close so thanks again!
you saved me some heartache, I thought mine was broken as I just bought it new today but as soon as I primed it just like you said, it's working perfectly!
Great video, very practical! The sprayer motor in my unit seized up after not using it for a while. I used pliers to give it a few twists to free it up, added some WD40, and it's back to working now. Thanks for the video!
Nice! I’ve found so many thrown out that just needed a bit of attention. I think the newer models have fixed a lot if the common issues but I certainly wouldn’t buy the older style
Thank you for helping me troubleshoot my vacuum that wasn’t sprained. I’m going to check it like you did and see how it goes because I borrowed my sons vacuum and while I was using it, I thought it broke so I bought him a new one and I kept the old one
You were close on fixing the sprayers. The problem is on the nozzle where it comes out of the handheld sprayer. Detach the head and clean out the pin sized hole. It clogs easily. Mine had 1 grain of sand that blocked the exit. Cleaned and problem solved.
Hey ,great videos dude.,👍 I bought one of the smaller green thing years ago, used it once, & put it back in the box & put it away. One day I powered it up, it works fine,(a little weaker but does the job) the problem is , it's WAY TOO LOUD , LIKE LOUDER THAN A GAS POWERED LEAF BLOWER. any thoughts pleeez. ?
At 8:10, you have two audio tracks competing with one another for about 10 seconds. Overall, very helpful video. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
We all have a pile of shame somewhere. Loved this video. It's given me the courage to take a look at my ancient stash of broken vacuum cleaners that have been lurking in my garage for months 😁
Some of them might be worth something to collectors (like me, but I also stay far away from shipping anything that isn't from a store and brand new) if they work properly and aren't fixed with 13lbs of deck screws, although that is a story for another day lmao.
I buy these at Goodwill and fix them and resell them all the time. 99% of the time it's the little hose on the inside of the trigger that connects to the spray nozzle that's clogged up in between there and the spray nozzle. Easy fix
Just got one of these yesterday, you're one of the first scrappers I started watching and I got into it. Subbed and plan on selling it instead of scrapping it now
This video is wonderful! Thank you so much for all the great tips. And the age old reminder to stop procrastinating. ;) I was trying to figure out why my sis-n-laws Little Green was leaking only to discover the duck billed gasket was missing. uhhhh duh. I felt silly too. Take care and keep sharing!
You’re so welcome! I felt silly too, having been so confident they all needed new pump motors and then buying four of them, only to discover they all had much simpler issues 😅 Guess I just need to open them up and figure it out, it’s so often something simple!

The other main problem is people out them away wet, that causes the electric water pump motor to rust a bit an not spin, take the motor off the pump, spin the shaft with a pair of pliers until it turns freely, put it back together, works fine.
I have one of these and it worked fine for years but now the sprayer won't spray, so what I do is fill up a water spray bottle with the solution and hot water and spray it on the carpet and then clean it. It cleans the carpet still. I really need it because I have a very old cat that makes accidents on the carpet regularly.
I hate that these leak so fast. The other problem is the brush head. That plastic won't come off and there's dirt and hair in there. I tried soaking it but won't come clean.
Hi sir, Really appreciate your videos I subscribed, Just ordered one of these I asked for a black and purple color, hopefully I can really profit from this machine because cost me nearly 200 dollars. but this is Inspirational. thank you
Mine too! It leeks only when I try spraying. I got a new cap and it didn't help. Bissell has not been able to help me, They have sent me lots of ideas but nothing is working. I am going to take mine apart tonight after watching this video. Maybe once inside I can see the problem.
I think also that people are lazy and leave them full because there is still some solution in the wash side, so they rust. They use homemade soap solution, or something from another brand, and they also might buy them for a project with the intention to return them. In our family, I’ve passed mine down to others who really just want you to come over and clean for them (also lazy), so it is relighted to the garage after you leave, LOL.
I have one of them and I loved it but my hose broke right where the hose is connected to the unit. I don’t think I can fix it..such a shame it’s perfect for cleaning a small pile of dog piss or a spot on your couch where you slopped food by accident..nice little units.
I find most fail eventually due to hardwater build up and blockage. In Alberta you have very heavy calcium and lime in the tap water which causes carpet cleaners to eventually block and stop spraying. People also have the tenancy to put the duck bill gasket in backwards.
@@billob4285 I've been using these since they came out roughly 30 yrs ago. I even have a rug doctor now and it's always the same problem. After a few yrs. of use the build up disables the sprayer. I still use them though and just use a spray bottle instead as they're still pretty expensive to buy new.
If you have the PROHEAT version, and you have tried to clean out everything and your pump spins fine.... The heater on mine (aka the black box the water tubes connect to)… it was clogged to hell and back with mineral deposits. I unhooked both tubes from the heater(black box) and ran the water line straight to the pump. Bypassing the heater. Works now and no money spent.
I'm experiencing, after filling up the tank with cleaner and screwing that piece back on before inserting back on the tank---that water is squirting out the tiny hole where the water is dispensed through. I don't think I remember seeing this. I noticed the seal around it looks a little worn, however I don't think that would relate to the issue I'm having. Is that supposed to happen? I'm editing this right now, it only squirts out a little and it stopped as I just noticed, which makes me feel better. This may be normal.
I’m sure it is! I haven’t looked it up in awhile but just in case your model is a little different it’s best to just look up the parts diagram and use the model number you find there
My sprayer works but the suction doesn't. Any ideas on how to fix it? When I take the dirty tank side out the dirty tank holder the suction works. It must be a clog in the area running from the hose to the tank. Don't know how to get the hose off.
That’s kinda strange, that’s the opposite of what usually happens 😆 Hose doesn’t come off easily but it’s probably not a clog down the hose, that hose has plenty of space. I’d start by making sure all the seals are clean and dirt-free, if the little plastic flaps aren’t closing properly the suction doesn’t go where it needs to
I dug one I had out of my basement. Sprayer pump won't work normally, but will when the machine is higher than the handle. (Thanks for the tip!). Any idea what I can do to fix that?
That’s so odd! My best guess is there’s a loss of pressure somewhere, which gravity helps supplement... maybe there’s a kink in a hose somewhere? Or a seal in the pump gone... I’d check to make sure it’s easy to blow air through the hose before replacing the pump.
@@thubprint I found another video that went into detail about the pump. Mine was stuck, and I sprayed it with wd40 and worked it loose. I reconnected everything, and it worked perfectly for around 2 minutes and then stopped spraying so the pump is the issue for me. Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction!
I bought a brand new and the sprayer isn't working but I noticed on the solution tank where you the put the water there is a tiny hole in it. Any tips?
You might just need to ‘prime’ it a bit, I noticed that was probably the only issue with some of these. The line was just so dry that it took a few tries to bleed all the air out I think
Im mad because i just bought one like them .... and it does clean my chair but i never got the durty water in the other tank...... i hope my machine is not broke .....
Unfortunately, you can’t open them 😕 the best I’ve been able to do is take the tank off, pour some water in and shake the heck out of it to get as much out as possible. If that’s still not clean enough a person could put a handful of popcorn kernels or aquarium stones inside to swirl around with the water, that should help scrub the hard-to-reach side👍
