- We just had Dominic Acia of GetaDomTune on the podcast a few weeks ago, but he happened to be in the area and when he stopped by the shop, we had to sit down and record another conversation.
One of the biggest questions or suggestions that we got after talking to Dom last time was about the Subaru FA20DIT and FA24DTI engines.
So that is what we talk about here.
Dom only had a limited amount of time so this conversation is somewhat short, but there is a lot of good information in here.
If you have any other questions or topics that you would want us to discuss with Dominic, make sure to leave them in the comments below!
Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!

I’m new to the Subaru game. 05 LGT. But I’m smart enough to know I should listen when Dom starts to explain something. I could listen to tech talk for hours.
DAMN YOU PHOTO BUCKET!!! lol I don't know how many times I've had to figure something out on an old forum where the photos are gone. It also doesn't help that Google sucks balls now. Nothing like it was prior to around 2015 when you could search for things and actually find them. Great talk!
You can say that agian....shocking more then half the forum pictures are gone now
Right like i could type in custom sti parts and i get a million small shops that make stiff now its just the top 6 from distribution14 with mass produced crap
This is what a real, experienced, knowledgeable Subaru tuner sounds like.
Bring a popular YouTuner on so more people can judge the difference for themselves.
Smeedia comes to mind. I can't stand the guy anymore. I'm sure he sabotages his VA to keep the views and subscribers coming. There's zero reason for the H6 shouldn't be fully functional especially when Dom built one in 2 weeks
Thanks for watching and very glad that you enjoyed the conversation.

@@FlatironsTuningHi quick question the cylinder 4 cooling mod is this for only 08+ subarus or for all subarus ?
When someone designs and tunes a Subaru engine for aircraft, you better listen. We are fortunate he shares his wealth of knowledge and experience with us. 🤙🏽
Thanks very much!

We love Dom. Me and all my buddies love this guy. Jeremy also

Especially liked the explanation of the EJ cooling problem.
Write a book Dom!

Great podcast!
Interesting info Dom dropped about the OEM FA20 headers... anyone else remember in 2015/2016 (before aftermarket was available) that a well known parts maker on nasioc didn't want to make any because the OEM was so great?
the demise of the forums has hurt the DIYer......the knowledge base sitting in this YT is unbelievable.
NASIOC still has a wealth of great info.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment! Glad the channel has been helpful.

@@silentk59 Yes sir, it does and i still use it. it is one of the few forums that hasn't gotten bought out and filled with adds..........
Motoiq has a great video on the break down of the EJ vs FA engines if anyone is interested! One of the other trustworthy Subaru channels.
Dom spoke about the military and gave a knife hand 😂. If you know you know.
It’s a little late but oil pressure mods on the fa20 got asked a lot. But that video you shared about the oiling study in the blue brz was amazing and was the answer I believe haha
Thanks for watching and glad that the BRZ video was helpful. Definitely keep an eye on what 900BRZ is up to as he and the folks he is working with are doing a great job of getting to the bottom of the issue with the BRZ oiling issues.

Dom an I are on the same page we here 350 hp and just skip the 2.0 all together. If I could afford it I’d do a fa24dit swap for sure
Now looking back, the FA20 feels like a beta tester engine for the FA24
Amazing video. It’s so nice listening to such insightful conversations and learning a lot from it
I’m a built forged internals Bug eye 2001 WRX wagon owner from Kenya. Much respect and keep up the good work with the videos and content
Great chat.
Thanks for watching and very glad that you enjoyed the conversation.

Dom is one of the best Subaru tuners in the USA.
Fa24 has billet compressor wheel and different blade count
What are some of the more modern takes on power levels for EJs? I feel like it's crept higher over the years, and we see a lot more people targeting 400-500awhp with pump gas on street cars. Is this a viable power target while making decently safe power (as in not needing an engine out rebuild every 5000 miles)?
Would love to see what is thought to be the sweet spot for EJ power from all the collective minds.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question.

Such a great conversation! Thank you.
Should sit down with Headgames motorworks. Dave iirc.

So does Dom not like running Hybrid speed density 😮
Thanks for watching. Maybe we will have to address this next time Dom is on.

Subaru pulled out and is working on hydrogen direct injection…. It’s more affordable and obtainable than electric for sure
Current hydrogen cars take as long to fill as electric cars. I hope that's what they're working on improving.
@@deltafire5058 check out Mazda’s new hydrogen cell and hydrogen turbo engine, it’s very impressive. And I foresee Subaru working on a solution as well, and the guy I know that runs a hydrogen chevy s10 inline 4 fills his tank up with ionized water and turns on the key and instant hydrogen, takes about 4 minutes and he explained it to me for 3 of the minutes at the post office then off he drove. All hydrogen powered.
No infrastructure exists for hydrogen except one spot in Cali. Sadly will take decades.
@@01hafkee no hydrogen infrastructure exists anywhere. What part aren’t you comprehending that you put water in your tank….. and the hydrogen is separated. That’s the technology.
@@01hafkee hydrogen, tanked ,is a giant bomb waiting for static electricity to explode, Germany did a test with the hydrogen blimp…. Unstable storage.. that’s why the quick conversion from water to hydrogen safely is where I’m going with this.
