Thanks for always going over the diagram. I wish all crochet patterns had them. The written word patterns are so hard to understand (imo). Diagrams are easier to follow for me. Think most people feel the opposite is true though.
Oh my! I feel like a rabbit with all the jumping😂 But, all serious, it does work up beautifully. Thank you. Keep these videos coming and your comment videos
This is a beautiful pattern and I'd really like to do it as a Christmas present for a family member. I'd like to make it wider though so it can fit on a double bed instead of being a throw blanket. I understand the part about adding to the foundation chain in multiples of 7 until I'm happy with the width but I'm confused about what making it wider will do to the color changes. How do I adjust the rest of the pattern so the color changes aren't happening in the middle of a row? I'm not sure how that will work with the ombre yarn.
Great tutorial! Love the pattern & yarn choice! Thank you for the demonstration! ( I can read written patterns, but the graphs are Greek to me, so I needed the visual tutorial)
Just wondering where do you PULL YARN from the next ball of yarn to keep the transition? Do we always do it one way or do we go from in to out? Thanks so much :)
Have you ever done two columns of chains and crossed them? Or do you know if another technique or pattern for a more intricate design? I like this a lot but a friend showed me a pattern she wanted... Knit! I don't. So looking for alternatives to show her.
Yes, you an do that. I believe something like that is called the Polish Star. You can find tutorials on that, I've not filmed that here for you to reference on our channel.
Hey Mikey, great tutorial as always. I have this on my project list. Question, I'm curious to know, any thoughts on how to join the chain 12 loops as you go as opposed to interlocking them at the end? Just curious.... Love your contributions, you and team are a gem.
Great suggestion! I'm unsure if that's possible as you need the loops be free to link them. You may need to experiment with a swatch and see if something works.
Doesn't the pattern mean repeat foundation row thru row 4. I think the foundation row is the loop row. Row 1 is the row after loops. Just want to double check to do foundation row then row 1-4 am I right?
@@TheCrochetCrowd I actually figured it out. It takes 216 yds to make tassels. 220 in a cake and I had exactly 1 whole cake left. When I finished the blanket I had about a 1 inch tail left. LOL
Mikey, is there an online resource to match up ombre yarn brands/styles with afghan dimensions and desired yarn weights? Im asking because I find the worked ombre pattern never seems to come out evenly when I size up my projects.
This is a #6 Yarn Weight. It's the same yarn as Bernat Blanket so anything in that family will do. What I do is looking for blankets using this yarn and seeing the starting chain counts and compare to the dimensions. I don't know of any document where the yarn is paired and all size of afghans are done with it. Seems like a great idea though.
You could yes, just remember if you are using this same yarn, the colouring won't be as smooth looking in transition. The moss stitch extends the colour sequence.

I just finished this using the color Orange Crush and it matches perfectly with my traditional fall color decor. Thank you!

What a beautiful pattern. Will have to add to my to do list. Will do after my sampler afghan is finished. Thank you for another wonderful tutorial.

I love this blanket! Thank you for sharing! Also I absolutely love ombre yarn 😍
You are so welcome!
Are we meant to use a different color yarn for row 4 so it looks like the final product in the image?
Just wondering where do you PULL YARN from the next ball of yarn to keep the transition? Do we always do it one way or do we go from in to out? Thanks so much :)
So pretty
Thanks

Hi Mikey. If I want to make this in a regular 4 weight yarn, would this pattern work?

I thought this was a scarf from the pic. I wonder if that was possible?
Yes, you can figure out the multiples and make it smaller.
Nice thanks mikey
No problem

I feel so stupid. I see it now. Ch 12 is 4th row. .my bad sorry!
No worries. I slip up on patterns all the time.
I think based on your other statement, you figured your situation out.
@@TheCrochetCrowd I actually figured it out. It takes 216 yds to make tassels. 220 in a cake and I had exactly 1 whole cake left. When I finished the blanket I had about a 1 inch tail left. LOL
Thanks so much for the tutorial. Would the Bernat Blanket Variegated give the same affect (stripping affect) as Ombré yarn?
It's very similar. It's the width of the design that causes the line up to be really nice. Anything smaller or wider would change the transition look.
@@TheCrochetCrowd perfect. Thanks so much!
Can you tell me how much of this blanket yarn I need left to make the tassels?
I really don't know that answer. I never designed this to know the yardage breakdowns. I'm sorry.
If I was to use 3 strands of Worsted weight yarn, Would that come out to a 6 weight or would that be bulkier?
Do a gauge check with the three strands to check it. It’s the true way to know in advance.
@@TheCrochetCrowd thank you

Could this be made using a double crochet?
You could yes, just remember if you are using this same yarn, the colouring won't be as smooth looking in transition. The moss stitch extends the colour sequence.
Nice

Also called Jacob's Ladder ...
Yes. I'm unsure if the name of it is proprietary or not. So they may change the name of the stitch for that reason. I don't really know.
First like👍♥️
Yes you are. :D
