Thanks guys for look back, being born and raised in Miami spent many an hour at MIA, even when corrosion corner was in full swing, DC-4s 6s and 7s Lockheed Constellations by the dozens all cargo, this being in the 1970s, Now, I'm a retired Commercial pilot and all those old birds are history and like me never to be seen or heard from again...Those old planes served us well...
A time when aircrafts where noisy, made of metal and had colorful appearances...and you could smell the kerosene...I miss those days
That sums it up perfectly!
He forgot the need to pray in that list.
But what a way to go. No complaints this end.
SUBBED! Thanks guys. Beautiful uploads..
me too !!!!!!!!!! I loved that smell.
Anytime, Pre-9/11, is a good time in aviation.
Yep, I miss those beautiful aircraft. Those beautiful aircraft from DeHavilland, Lockheed, Douglas, Illusion, Tupalev, Yak, Fokker, and many more.
91, this seems more like 81!
61...
just plane crazy no. we can see 727s and 737-200s
Agree, and that is because all those DC8s and 707s. This video shows how poorly managed were Latinamerican flag carriers those days, flying 30-year old aircraft. No wonder they went all bankrupt and had to be rescued by private investors
@@pacofermex I mean, there was a Lockheed Constellation! That might have been almost 50 years old! crazy.
01
wow!! Tan Sahsa airlnes at 8:45 .. best airline in central america in its day!! beautiful livery .. i miss those planes, i flew with tan sahsa a lot when I was a kid.
Me too!! It was beautiful to see its colors pulling in at the terminal
6:02 Ecuatoriana! My country was present in Miami! 🇪🇨
0:00 They still used Connies in the 90s? Wow!
Just looked up that tail number. It was finally disassembled in 2016.
Connies are still around today, albeit either for display or in storage rotting away.
YES with FIRE coming from their stacks!!
I used to park beside the 94 Aerosquadron Steak 🥩 restaurant in NW 25 st. In the perimeter road and watch all this, all the time ,then came 9/11 and that was the end of that.
Thanks for the memories.
So cool seeing that Aerochago Connie. take off. Connie's ruled the skies during the 1950s and 1960s.
Thanks for the blast from the past! I might have been sitting in the cockpit of that Delta 727-232!
Thanks for the Connie footage !! I grew up in Burbank, Ca in the Fifties. Many of those Connies built right under our noses, back then.Made many a bicycle ride to Lockheed Air Terminal to see those great planes land and take off.
Awesome video. Brings back vivid memories of working at MIA as a DC8 flight mechanic. I still remember some of these airplanes like it was yesterday. Amazing how much things have changed in about 25 years. Thanks for sharing.
Love seeing that Aerochago Connie take off, real cool.
0:30 I believe the rate of climb is 10 f/m 😁
Why did RUclips give me a notification for this video half a decade ago? Great stuff!
I was living there by that time. And used to watch all those planes in the afternoon from my Balcony. And really love it to see many old cargo airplanes.
I do recall this is when Pan Am was still flying and Eastern became obsolete in January 1991 and wasn't flying any longer. American bought Eastern's slack at Miami.
Ryan, amazing footage! I worked for Southern Air Transport and I believe the cat is none other than Skydrol kitty! Lived at the 1024 building, NW corner of the airport.
Thanks for the great video!! Brings back so many memories, some of them sad, like the Eastern and PanAm fleets, or the beautiful TransAir Link DC6, but most of all sweet memories of a glorious time for MIA. Thanks!!
Great video of the times. I was there. Southern Air Transport. So different then. So much movement and if you had any interest in Aviation...........that was the place to be. Thanks for sharing this video. Brings back good memories.
Man, loads of sights you definitely won't see at airports nowadays.... Are those all brand new 757s lined up near the end of the video? What a sight!
I'm also loving the stray pet motif going on in this Miami series of videos ;) or what appear to be stray pets, lol
Hopefully ..Not strays but LIKE AIRPLANES TOO!
Love it when I see an Ecuatoriana aircraft in your videos! Excellent selection of footage.
Great footage, I only got to Miami in 1990 but wow it was so great - so many 707's, DC-8's, 727's, DC-6's, and even a couple of Connies. Love all those freight birds - Florida West, Southern Air Transport, Burlington Air Express, Millon Air, Fine Air, Aerial Transit, Trans-Air Link, etc, plus local goodies like Eastern, Braniff and Rich International along with all the major US and European carriers. And also of course, those wonderful Latin and South American carriers - Ecuatoriana, Saeta, Guyana Airways, Tan Sahsa, Aeronica, Copa Panama, BWIA, Mexicana, Aero Mexico, Lan Chile, Avensa, Servivensa, Aero Peru, Faucett, Dominicana, Avianca, Air Jamaica, Bahamasair, Tampa Colombia, Aerolineas Argentinas, Aerolineas Uruguayas, JD Valenciana, Fast Air, Taesa, Haiti Trans Air, Haiti Air Freight, Arca Colombia, AECA Cargo, Zuliana, Aeropostal, Aerochago, AMSA, and the wonderfully-named Agro Air!! Best spotting days ever and great memories!! Also Fort Lauderdale International, Opa Locka, and New Tamiami just down the road with more goodies such as C46's, CV440's, G73 Mallard's, DC-3's, DC-4, DC-6's, DC-7, and a Lord's Airline CV990.
That lords airline plane was a DC8.
@@CupwakeRBLX They did have a DC-8 buddy, at some point, but they had a CV990 at one point too, and that was the aircraft I saw at FL. I have a photo of it and know the difference between a pretty CV990 and an ugly DC-8.
Honestly, this looks more like the 80's.
Now that is properly amazing, a Constellation, never heard one of these before. SO many classic jets, all those Eastern 757's too. I am guessing this was after their shutdown by the commentary. All of this footage is something you need to treasure.
Certainly a classic video! Wonderful seeing Lockheed Constellations still at work at this time, plus all those other wonderful jets of the 60s and 70s still doing their bit. Aviation as I remember it! Brilliant work! :D
I love classics MIA 90's videos with thouse colorfull airliners
707 Heaven 😍
Velhos tempos e Muitas Saudades
parabéns pelo Vídeo.
At 1988 I was for vacation in Miami, near from the Airport was a nice little restaurant where you could seen many of DC-8 and 707 😁George T Baker Aviaton School 👍
Love that Connie Sound!!!!
It Was awesome when everything used to run on JT-8 or JT-9 engines, And seeing the black contrails, Sadly The Only time I hear those PW engines arre when an md-80 flys over.
+kamal ks they were way before my time, when everything was water injected
My aunt and uncle lived in Meridian Miss in the late 60s-early 70s. I lived in Birmingham Al. I would go spend a month or so with them from about 8 yrs old to I think 12. I would fly Southern Airways Convair 330 there and back. I think the ticket round trip cost about $20. It's funny but for about 3 yrs in a row, had the same flight attendant. She would put me in the window looking over the engine. It was cool to watch them crank that old girl and flames would shoot out. Great times!!
Pratt & Wittney seem to be the engines of choice for those birds!
Sorry I couldn’t hear you over your deafening JT3D engines!
Love the vid. Brings back old times ... Thanks!
OH yes! Start with a Connie, VERY nice!
Wow. I remember Aerochago connie and all the other cargo planes shown. Great video.
Ryan, your videos continue to leave me in awe. I look forward to whatever you've recently uploaded every time I log on. THANKS so much.
I have to comment on the Aeronica 707 on take-off at 4:45 - that is a truly excellent few moments - the plane was one of the few 707-120s in commercial service at the time, and all the aircraft taxiing nearby during takeoff are also fellow classic Boeings (except perhaps the 767-200...but maybe even that qualifies as "classic" now?). Outstanding Ryan!
I remember being on vacation in miami in 1992 and seeing dc-7s flying overhead.. it was a sight...the had not flown in Italy since the early 70's..
AHHHH, the good old days back in Virginia Gardens living across 36th Street from the famed "Corrosion Corner" of MIA. A true wonderland for aviation historians. I remember when Elvis's old Convair 880 was parked there like forever.
Great variety of classic aircraft :)
I swear, this video made my day!! thanks for sharing!!
AWESOME Video like always, Ryan! Keep up the good work. Thx for sharing!
When once upon a time you’d smoke on a plane ✈️
You take a bomb on a plane ✈️
Crazy to think these things happened how vulnerable planes were
DC 8 what a friend in the air they were.
Love that Connie!
Thanks for watching! It's a former American Airlines & Ports of Call Boeing 707-323B, N709PC (cn 20175/811)
I only liked cos I saw that wuvverly tuddy 😊😊😊😍😍😍, I liked watching aircraft too..lol !
Great Video> Love the Old Connie plane. Don't see to many of those around!
8:37, nice kitty and nice old smokers:)
The service of the Boeing 707 is almost over at that time their getting retired
Back when the higher pitched low-bypass engines still dominated civil aviation! Modern jets are much lower in pitch, they make a thunderous roaring sound rather than a loud hissing sound like jets before the start of the 21st century.
Thanks Ryan, Fantastic, as usual.
Another excellent video!
You should have at least 100,000-250,000 subscribers!
Thank you
I really miss the Boeing 707 and DC8. Damn, I'm getting old. I liked the cat in the video, also. Nice touch.
Oh, Best time
I miss all those old birds.
Wonderful footage and great
Memories, thanks for sharing
The time were airplanes were actually different from one another!
Very nice. Sad to see a lot of those airlines are no longer with us.
Jeez, wow, gobsmacked !!, Love it. Wot type of engines on the B707, training aircraft please? Were they the conway ???
More , more more, now i remember why i took up the hobby. Many thanks
NICE! Starting it off right with a Connie
I wish i was able to witness the pre-turbofan aircraft, now they are all in scrapyards or museum
It seems like MIA in the 80s and 90s had the coolest shit. A lot of dodgy 4-engined freighters operated by airlines with Spanish names no one ever heard of that were no doubt packed with drugs.
Was looking for someone to comment on this. That’s all o could think… Miami, cargo planes…. What could the cargo be?
Que hermoso se ve ese 727-200 de Mexicana de Aviación.
The plane is Smiling 😁 2:35
I miss Mexicana de Aviación
Incase you missed it....Great video buddy!
Dude, this video is so amazing.. :)
My first jet job B707 from Millón air in Miami. I was just 24.
I'm Guessing those are some of the First ever Boeing 757's built at 11:04 ?
Great Video! Loving the 707!
The Cockroach Corner seemed to be quite active.
They sure did use a lot of 707 and DC 8 cargo planes to south america back then
Is that a constellation at the beginning? Forgive me I'm still learning.
They are all super!
Sure is!
You guessed it.
This plane looked creepy! You would need 10 horses to get me on that!
Remember the days of 2,3 and 4 holers and RARELY anything NOT built in the US.
TAN SAHSA un Boeing 737. lindo avión. y con su pintura de la bandera bonito
5:02 Beautiful Boeing 767
🔴 Avianca-Colombia
the last of the video: Tampa´s B707. the most important Colombian cargo airline. even today, it is still operational with 6 A330-200 and 4 B767
Peep that Cayman Airways Sir Turtle 737-400 Classic near the end at 11:30 .
Great video I could see ARCA Colombia DC-8 at 2:18
いきなりコンステレーション‼️👍
9:08 A 737-200 with un-hushed JT8Ds! The crackle is a dead giveaway that there is now hush kit ,as well as the exhaust traveling Mach 1. I wish nowadays 727s ,737-200s and DC-9s were more common and un-hushed. Some other countries still have them un-hushed though.
Are you sure this was ‘91? I honestly thought there’d be more 737 classics, MD80s, A300s, 747s, and DC-10s . Those 707s, the DC-6, and that Connie definitely makes the footage seem more like from the 70s .
2:12 AECA CARGA from Ecuador!!
Tan Sahsa 🇭🇳💙
Como me gustaba la aviación de la década del 60, 70 , 80 quiero el 707 727 , DC 8 , 737 BAC one eleven , Fokker F 28, añoro esa época , no la de ahora.
hello ok thank you very much I'll watch excellent videos of greetings ok
Great video !
WOW!AT 8 :38 THE CAT IS WAITING 4 FLYING TIGER !
BEHIND AECA Cargo is ARCA Colombia DC-8 at 2:17
3:00 that airplane crashed in quito
It crashed in September of 1984 so this video has to be from before that.
awesome!!
When 707s and DC-8s dominated airports.
Great video. A DC-7 even? Not to mention the Connie. Super Connies had the wing tanks I do believe. G models?
Not all the Super G's had wing tip tanks. You had to request them.
Magnificent spotting. But that Connie! Positive rate of climb? Gear up? C'mon!
more eastern dc8 and 747..used to non-REV ON EAL 747..ALWAYS EMPTY!
1991 or 1981 ?
Exelent vid!!
DC8, A340 of the day :)
So annoying to see those hush kits on those turbojets
