They don’t make em like they used to. These new ones with aluminum blocks just aren’t cutting it. The cast iron can take more heat that aluminum can.

You should look up Zane Koch 7.3
I used to drive a flatbed tow truck with the 7.3 and a 5 speed manual man that thing always started up even if it took a while in the cold hahaha

I see people treating the ole 7.3s like trash. Rly pisses me off cuz I’m an Ex-PSD owner now own an IDI cuz the injectors on my PSD were puking, & since it was an auto by the time I fix the injectors, & fix the motor cuz it had 400k on it in good shape the trans would give out.
Love my idi, but the sounds that ole PSD made w a straight pipe before I sold it were simply insane.

Walt Stewart it’s a single 85mm garret gtx5533r gen 2 with a 133 mm compressor exducer, 112mm turbine inducer and 102mm turbine exducer. About 700 hp of nitrous as well. She’s a bad bitch. Still HEUI

@@LoganFK thats gonna generate alot of heat. typically your supposed to cool these engines down with fuel otherwise run the risk of melting pistons. its much worse on nitrous diesels as all the fuel is burned in the cylinder chamber causing very extreme heat(something you dont want cause even on aluminum blocks. that can crack the cylinder bores)
Technology has come a long way in the last 10 years. If you told me in 2010 I'd be building a 500hp 7.3 I'd laugh you out of the house, now I sit and contemplate wether I want to build for 500 or 650+ 🤣
Do it... the real questions start when you pass that 550-600 threshold. I mean the 7.3 is a great reliable motor until... 600+ hp
