- Hennessey's VelociRaptor 700 supercharged upgrade for Ford's 2021 7.3L gas F-250 makes this giant truck move with a purpose. We headed to the Pennzoil Proving Ground to compare our VelociRaptor 700 performance to a stock gas F-250 and the outcome did not disappoint.

When you need to tow 15,000 pounds at 6 o'clock but have a drag race at 7.
^^ Best comment ever ^^
Hennesy Performance should pin this cause comment is hilarious
I wonder if the towing capacity drops with all these mods ?🤔🤔
@@dirtmoney8740 Might make it less reliable for towing but it'll definitely make towing easier.
@@burgerbandit3646 thats not inherently true at all. Like f150 raptor it may be geared differently giving up huge numbers for towing. Not saying it is but its something to keep in mind.
The drone footage at 2:16 is amazing. That should be standard in your videos from now on!
yes
Simple drone footage if you ask me but still looks cool
I wanna see the trx and this velociraptor 700 go head to head
Why? It would be a waste of gas TRX would smoke it . I wanna see a TRX mammoth 900 vs a C8 corvette
@@tmjeff1220 cool story bro🤣
The TRX would beat that velociraptor 700 worse than the velociraptor 700 beat the stock 7.3
The TRX actually would beat this just because it launches alot better Ram underestimated the 0 to 60 times best TRX time to 60 is 3.5
@@jamesmcclure3502 it would beat the F250 is it carries about the same power with less weight, but it will not be as big a gap as this race
No matter what you say both of those trucks are insane
Are they so self aware they've developed an opinion of their sanity?
I would take it over the diesel any day. Having a massive v8 with a supercharger sounds like a good time, and there is no expensive emissions systems.
I don’t think value is on peoples minds if they own a supercharged 7.3L V8 lol
as a dirtymax owner, these diesels get expensive to own and tinker with. and my truck has been to "Mexico" too. next HD truck for me will be a supercharged Godzilla .. for sure!
@@demarcosmalls8966 as a fellow dirtymax owner I agree.
Gasoline motors do certainly have expensive emissions systems, but either gas or diesel can be deleted pretty easily! Just wait, Ford will be installing gasoline particulate filters on all their vehicles in the coming years. Just like diesels and their DPF, they will clog, they will fail.. you will have to replace 300 dollars sensors every so often etc
@@DarkAttack14only thing somewhat expensive on a gas engine is the catalytic converter. No reason to delete anything on a gas engine.
I would like to see this against the power stroke for reference
I was about to comment that
I take it they don't work on diesel engines?
@@VictorMarines06 doesnt take working on them to test them
All 3 lined up..Yessir. It would be neat for visual reference. The Powerstroke is no slouch. Then do a run with the diesel tuned!
@@brada1997 the power stroke doesn't have the HP but it's got more torque stock. Would definitely be interesting.
Then load matching trailers
He said you need this package LOL AND THEY NEVER SAY THE PRICE LIKE ALWAYS 👍
I heard a henessey package for the F-150 is in the ballpark of 20K, I’d say this one is a clean 25-30K
@@Jeremyd2000 hennessey doesn't make products for the common man, their pricing is wild to me. No way would I ever pay that price for 300 more hp. Just go buy a turbocharger kit.
The price is A LOT.
$78k.
I love the video, but as mentioned you need this package, but how much is it lol. Its not like all of us are loaded with money and we can throw an extra 20k to 25k like nothing. I would take the 430 HP if it saves me that much more its a beauty truck no matter what!
How reliable is the 700 HO supercharged upgrade? The 7.3 was designed for long term reliability and power on par with older diesels but running gas.
I thought I saw somewhere that whipple has a twin screw for the 7.3 and with ported heads, exhaust and a few other bolt-ons it can make north of 1000hp.
I’ve seen vids of people tuning the 7.3 NA for almost 1,000 so a supercharger should be easily 1200, Hennessy a bunch of jabronies
It could be yours for just 1 small payment of $36,995!......🤣
Maybe for one with 200,000 miles
@@dylanpyle5441 $36,995 is just for the power upgrade my guy 👍🏻... Used F250's right now are going for alot of money right now that I wish I had one to sell.
100,000 and 36,995
Right outside my office this morning a white F250 pulled up. Usually I drive my 2011 raptor to work but I took a different car. As I’m standing inside admiring this thing through the tinted window, a black F250 pulls up and parks right next to the white one (which I kind of think is a riDICulous thing to do when there are other spots.. but not the point). Then this video comes out! It’s like the world is playing a trick on me or I’m living in some sorta google ad.
Google sees and hears EVERYTHING
Synchronicity!
A "different car"? Your mom's minivan?
@@skynetlabs 2006 CLK 55 AMG with 95K miles on it. But you keep on insulting on RUclips kiddo hahahaha
Or theres 5,000,000 f series truck in the USA
Every texas dad late to work wet dream lol
I'd love to have a new 7.3 gasser.
But as long as my 01 7.3 rust free F250 tuned , pulls my 5th wheel , I'd have a hard time thinking of a new truck. Im just afraid it will out last me . I'm hoping a nother 20 years ..
I got an idea! Do something with a Ram 2500 6.4 like a turbo or something like that. Just to separate it from the TRX. Awesome video btw! 🔥
the 6.4 needs a rebuild with better internals for boost. Stock they wont handle boost for long.
And a turbo system that would still allow maximum towing capacity is super expensive, the components need to be very robust and the turbos need water cooled center sections to maintain reliability,as it s a 3/4 ton it is expected to do work towing and hauling.lots of added plumbing and complexity to add after the fact. Better off using a supercharger,ESP since there are many already used on the Hemi. This is of course after you rebuild the engine with stronger rods ,coated pistons, head studs and a decent camshaft.
Yes I have the 2020 tremor with the 7.3 and want to know more about getting more hp.
You know something unusual? I did an electrical on a school bus recently and was surprised to see it was a gasoline full size bus.. then I was even more surprised to find out it had a 7.3 Roush under the hood. Knew it sounded way too good when I started it up! The bus was equipped with a 100 Gallon gas tank, should be enough ;)
JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU SO MUCH!!!
Who Is you
Yes he does
@@lesabrepittman6760ur fat😂
Amen!
I didn't realize trucks could go zoom zoom like that 😅😂😂
I’m waiting for my F-250 Tremor, and if this adds that kind of performance to the 7.3 Tremor, I’m definitely interested.
Well , after you get it you'll want one. LOL I'm wishing I had just gotten the 6.7 after towing my 36 ft toyhauler. That's why I'm watching videos of super chargers. :(
@@meatandmetal7764 now that I’ve had my F-250 Lariat Tremor for six months, still glad I opted for the 7.3, as I don’t plan on towing much, but bet this package would make things more exciting in my metro city driving, lol. Sure it won’t help the gas mileage any, LOL!
No matter what the Hennessey version of a car will always win
Typically how modded vs Stock goes.
For 50k+ over the sticker it damn well better be
2 or 3 bus lengths? More like 2 or 3 semi trailers
Do you know what the length school buses 35-45 ft
Would like to see a pro charged 7.3 vs the powerstroke. You can procharge the 7.3 for cheaperthan the initial cost of the 6.7 powerstroke.
Pro charger useless for 90% of driving compared to positive displacement roots style, especially in a truck unless you want drag race only
@@Brandon-ll3ff A twin screw Whipple is a positive displacement. I'm assuming that's what they're using. Surely not the front mount procharger. Not that they say. But Whipple is 10k for the kit and 8k to go from 7.3 to the 6.7 TD.
If I need a sprint truck to beat my neighbor to the grocery store, I know what to get.
Love you Alejandro but it’s TRX all day, everyday!!!
So.. about 10 gallons burned in both of those runs??
Any other guesses?
I have a 2020 f350 lifted crew on 37" with the 7.3 Godzilla and it is fast, I can't imagine how this one is. I love it

You must drive a Dodge. 😭
How much is your fuel bill every month? I guess I wouldn't care either if mom/dad paid my rent... 🙄
That was ONE HELL OF AN ASS WHOOPING by the 700 F-250😱😳💪🏻.
Sounds like single digit gas milage all day everyday haha. Sick truck👍love it!
My stock 7.3 f350 4.30 gears gets 9 mpg 😂
I wonder if the 700HP truck would overheat towing heavy through the mountains? I also wonder how long that 10 speed will last towing at those power numbers?
The 10 speeds are holding up just fine behind tuned diesels that make close to double the torque. They should hold together very well.
Now I want to 7.3L Godzilla swap my 2006 from the 5.4 3v , wow the power and torque from that motor is nice
Are 2 truck lengths worth the extra 65k?
Ditto!
No
That 700 hp godzilla is way cooler than a TRX!
Can this be installed on the 6.8 liter “mini-zilla”? As far as I am aware, the piston stroke is the only difference between the two engines.
I love it my guys Hennessy and keep up the work and I love the video 💯
You should race that 700hp beast against the new HO 6.7L Powerstroke!!
Am I alone in wanting Hennessy to get into diesel mods?
My F-250 7.3 Tremor wants one, and I’m sure my local gas station would be excited for me to have this package, lol… metro city driving w my gear in the bed is about 11.4 - 12.5 MPG. On the Hwy with minimal gear, I managed to hit 14 MPG.
Wow that’s impressive on a big truck. Very nice
Please race that truck vs both the stock trx and the trx with your 900 package
Im not very truck smart but whats the main reason som1 would buy a 7.3 instead of a powerstroke? Cuz its cheaper ?
I guess I don't know much about trucks, but didn't know there was such a high demand for a 700 hp 3/4 ton truck . I can understand a diesel for heavy loads, but a 700hp gas , that's crazy. I suppose you can pass everything, except a gas station.
I'm looking at one of these in an XL, 2 Door, 8ft box,... with the 7.3L (making into a work truck) how do these 7.3L hold up.?
How much more gas did the 700 hp truck burn?
This is nice. But would it void my warranty???
Do you guys do performance upgrades for the diesel models as well??
I better stay stock 😅
It says it comes with a warranty in the description.
@@XploreAz I know that. But I'm saying will it void the manufacturers warranty
Obviously, you change your own oil and the warranty is voided. To bad on these new trucks you need a warranty so bad, we used to be able to fix our cars ourselves relatively inexpensively
Supercharged over turbo?
That's a nice dinner you served. What's that Gapplebees?
I'd like to see velociraptor 700 vs 6.7 powerstroke instead
Gee I wonder which one will win.
Lol I'm gonna give you the jump?😂
I'm curious how much weight you have to be towing with the 700hp version to make it a neck and neck drag race at the end
2500 is my guess
@@yardhostler3728 I don't know, I personally think it would be between 1000 to 1500, but definitely something I'd like to see done.
Good question 🤔
I don't think that truck would know 1500 is there. I'd go 5000
@@brada1997 I'm looking at if from a drag car point of view. Can loose a few tenths of a second for each 100 pounds added and the fact that the stock 2500 really wasn't all that far behind the Hennessy modded one at the end makes me guess the 1000-1500. Like I said though I could be way off, I could be spot on, no one will know for sure if they didn't do the race.
Wait a minute if I add 270hp it's faster. Who would have thought.
😂
We buy trucks to pull not to speed down the road to Starbucks
So that’s why Monday was packed at the sealy facility!!!!
Great trucks, until you get the death wobble and break down. I had a brand new 2016 for with the 5.0. It was always at the dealer with issues. It barely cleared 20k miles when I got rid of it.
My 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it has 139,000 miles on it and still going strong and its a beast and it sounds like a beast with the Borla ATAK.
@@CJColvin My truck ran great, when it ran. When I traded it in the sales man said right before he drove it away "man I got a nice truck now". I thought what you got is a POS.

I wanna see the gm 6.6 gasser with super charge
Super excited to see this run against a stock TRX. Aright! Shelby Raptor couldn't take it down, so maybe the Hennessey boys got it dialed just right!

You should test vs a ram trx, that will be so interesting
Look like snails going to a slug fest, I must have been watching it in slow mo.
I own a 2020 7.3 with 410 gear and it’s like watching grass grow! So they took it from a 19 second 1/4 mile to 17.5 seconds who cares. SOB has ten gears and can’t shift fast enough to make it fast smh
Next year, Cybertruck
I still like my 2003 7.3 diesel powerstroke
I've got one myself and love it, I have a 10-in lift and 40 inch tires, it's not very fast but I love the hell out of it
Hennessey please adopt me as your 50-year-old step child and do something crazy with my F150 thanks guys I enjoy your videos I watch all of them
Let’s hook up a 10,000lb camper and do the same runs. Now also put it up against a diesel. I’d love to see what I could do with my 7.3 if it had a whipple.
Can Hennessey do the same thing with Diesel engine truck .
I'll keep my 7.3 Power Stroke, thanks anyway
Might not be as fast. Might not have all the flashy dash features. Hell, we might only have 4 gears. But we can still pull anything they can, and get nearly twice the mileage doing it.
This is brave..... I’d be scared of death wobble
install dual steering shocks and its eliminated permanently
@@cesarpalmos8235 not even... Mine on 37s has yet to even hint at it. It's the alignment from the factory. Take it to a lkft shop that knows what they are doing and they will set it right.
I didnt say it was EVERY ford truck, in fact it was about 1 in 10,000 trucks that we found to actually have the death wobble. I'm just saying when I worked at Planet Ford in Humble, TX on 59, that was the "campaign", we would replace all the front end components with warranty parts and install a basic "rough country" dual shock kit that had a "factory" part number. I dont remember what it was, but that was what us at Ford did. Never had issues.
Now run a tune only 17+ powerstroke
Yaaaa at that price point you're way better off with a tuned diesel truck which is what I think you're getting at.
No Dragy times? No dyno sheets? What's the cost?
The stock ford's are limited to 105, correct?
Let's see a comparison vs the 6.7 and/or turned 6.7!

Gapplebees is such a fun place to take people
Why does the 5.0 make 775 and the 7.3 only makes 700🤔
Whipper gen 5
When people ask you, "what's the mpg's?" You reply with, "if I was worried about saving gas, I'd have bought a prius..."
If I was going to a race, I wouldn't bring a truck.
Can you do it to a gas 6.2?
I want to see you race a diesel F250
Need one with ported heads, cam and more boost= 1000
I wonder how reliable the engine and transmission will be with all that extra power and torque.
It's not a bad as you would think , theses new transmissions can hold a lot of power , as far as motor I'm guessing depends on how many times you abuse it . Lol
Well it's the same tranny as the 6.7 with a stock 1050 lbs of torque. No where close to the pro charged motor.
Sounds good too
And i would pass them both with my 1978 2 wheel drive f 150 with a stock 302 👀😂
