The Super Street and 10.90 class competitors showed up to the NHRDA World Finals with nothing but WINNING on their agenda. The competition was focused and therefore put on a great show for the crowd, with some passes going into the 8 second at 150MPH range!

that red one was the only violent one out of the bunch. I have some pretty violent launches in mine too. called bad carrier bearing.

It is true. Black smoke is unburned fuel. That means power is going out the exhaust in the smoke. It doesn't mean the truck would make less power if it wasn't smoking. It just means the truck needs more turbo to use all the fuel.
the how come diesel race cars don't black smoke? when the money is on the line i see no black smoke? I really dont know why these trucks are black smoking but i have a feeling its because black smoking isnt terrible and you at least know its getting enough fuel.

that red truck's launch was the perfect example of what diesels can do.
I know black smoke is unused fuel but in all reality who doesn't love to see a little coal roll, i've drove modified cummin's pickups for the last 15 years and i still look over at the passenger side mirror everytime i change gears.

sounds to me like a couple of the cummins were 12 valves. crazy to see a 21 year old diesel perform just as well as the newer ones

I think what he meant by violent launch is that the g-force would have hit you pretty hard. If you have ever been in a modified diesel, you should know how hard the launch is. Just because it doesn't lift half of the truck off the ground don't mean it's not violent. These trucks are made to stay in place, so there is almost no way you can get it off the ground on launch. The reason that trucks like the farm truck can lift so hard is because the farm truck is made to do that. They want that truck to have at least one wheel off the ground when you tree a Lamborghini. It's fun for them, as apposed to these people who run on the track for competition. Just saying buddy.
Deadly Tandem even at that, the farmtruck is just a couple of adjustments away from veing track ready... The farmtruck is built plenty good

Everyone here is hating because they think a 9,000lb truck should lift on launch. These were all pretty good since they would normally run 16 seconds or more stock.

Thats easy to predict the trucks with the least amount of smoke always won. Thats why I've always argued that rolling coal makes you slower.
