I love shopping in France ;large supermarkets to small independent stores ,fish counters and markets incredible and bre ad shops ,also staff seem to have different attitude seems to me they enjoy their jobs and take pride in their jobs ,👍👍👍
I enjoy (virtually or live) grocery shopping when I travel, it's so fun to see what people enjoy in places other than my home. You certainly have an abundance of lovely cheeses and fruits(that selles sur cher! those apricots!) in your neighborhood! I think a mainstay of my cooking "philosophy" is home cooking and variety!
I'm not a big believer in either organic or local as food consumption rules. That said, what I buy largely parallels your shopping. Rolled oats as a cereal for breakfast occasionally. Frozen veg/ fruit for convenience and in winter. Nuts or popcorn or oatcakes as a snack instead of chips. Ready made meals in the UK are quite good quality and they're helpful to just pull out of the freezer. I'm picky about meat, will generally avoid the mass farmed chicken. Blue cheese is great for dessert and I've just ordered a kilogram of dates to go with it.
Excellent video again. Perhaps I am mistaken but from the outside, the Intermarché looks like the one located at rue cardinal lemoine and rue des école. I usually stay at an airbnb at 33 rue cardinal lemoine.
@@easyfrenchdiet thank you. I adore that quarter. So many wonderful places, cafes, bistros etc. Everything is in walking distance including the Seine. I was planning to return to France but due to sudden illness I have cancelled. Hopefully will reschedule in March.
I'm japanese. love to watch this. I often eat processed soy products, Tofu and natto. Of course, seaweed, too! My son asked me why we don't have any sweet drinks!
Hello. Yes, it is difficult to make children understand that these drinks and all these sugary items are harmful to them when they are everywhere. Thanks for watching ☺️
I really miss the delicious baguettes and other baked goods in France. Here in America, it's very hard to find high quality bread or pastries. I finally learned how to make my own but I'm still not patient enough to devote the time to it. It was so nice to be able to get a fresh baguette every morning at the boulangerie or open air market. I can resist all the other ultra-processed foods but not that!
As an American who lives somewhere it is legit too hot to bake year round (38°C everyday for the next week), the lack of real bread available near me, when not baked by me, is the worst. Have to drive 15-20 minutes out of the way to get a single loaf for $12. It's unreasonably expensive and difficult to obtain. Also, totally wish we got the 100% lindt bar with orange flavor. My family thinks I'm crazy for eating squares of that bar plain, but it is healthy in small doses and really satisfies the chocolate cravings!
Make flat breads like focaccia so they don’t take much oven time Or pitas in skillet Or make several loaves at night. I get up super early n bake it too - and freeze both ways. U can slice it once cooked so u just pull out slices at a time even. We have several here so a loaf is finished quickly!
Hell. Thanks 😊 let me know how it goes! I don't know if I said in my video that the type of cut is from shoulder. I'm going to add this info below my video. Have a nice day
@@easyfrenchdiet Hi. It turned out really well. I guess since veal is not commonly used here in the US, what I got from the butcher was the frozen shoulder cut. It was probably water logged cos there was a lot of water when I tried to brown it. I will have to find a better butcher. But your recipe was soooo good and so simple to follow! Thank you so much🥰
Hello. Thanks for keeping me informed. if the meat loses water maybe you can drain it. I've noticed that it happens sometimes for me with chicken. I don't know why. In this case I cook it a bit and then I drain the water and then I start cooking again. Have a nice day 😊
Hello. The day I buy the bread I slice it and put it directly into the freezer. And when I want to have some for breakfast I just pull out one or two slices the night before and it's perfect the next morning. Or of course You can toast it if you forgot to pull it out the night before. Thanks for watching ☺️
@@namzs189 I make my own bread. No additives or shelf stabilizers. I live in Cape May without local bakeries. Everything is “fake bread”. And I no longer freeze bread. Im now using a bread bag. Interesting how fresh it will remain without bruising from the freezer.
Hello. Thanks for watching. Yes an endive is a kind of chicory salad. In France we have a lot of recipes. For instance it can be roasted with ham and cheese or served raw in salad with beets and walnuts and vinaigrette dressing. I like every recipe. Have a nice day 😊
I hate meats wrapped in plastic. I miss the small, high-street butcher shops which were everywhere and wrapped the meat in brown paper and very friendly service, here in NZ.
Allow me to disagree... There are no preservatives, nor added sugar in the Fleury-Michon and Marie pre-made meals you show. They're a bit pricey, but you pay for the time you gain.
Hello, in this kind of premade meal, the added sugars are very often not called sugar. They are called modified corn starch, modified wheat starch, etc. Starch is a chain of glucose molecules. They are added to modify the texture and the taste. In addition, when it is said modified it is condensed. Most premade meals contain it. So from time to time, if some days one doesn't have time, it's not a big deal, but no more. Thanks for watching.
The food in the USA is a disgrace. Quality and flavor is lacking. I haven’t bought a decent strawberry in decades no matter how much I spend. The high end stores are only high in price. Lack of pride, craftsmanship and integrity of our producers!
It’s so sad to see all our diets in Europe being so badly affected by the American fast food chains. It’s so sad that the UK left the EU because I loved all the EU regulations. We can’t come back soon enough for me. I would be retired in France or Italy now if it wasn’t for Brexshit .
I miss it too, but I have a silver lining. A small greengrocers has opened in town, run by a European family. I’m in heaven. The fruit and veg are fresh and tasty. I get to choose how much I want to buy, so no waste and no plastic bags. I’ve even bought a shopping trolley on wheels, so I can transport it more easily. I don’t know how long it will last, because our town had the second highest Brexit vote in the country.
All good choices for me except the beef….i do not eat beef…and very little pork or chicken. I would consider me a pescatarian. Good for the vegetables and fruit too.
Hello. From a nutritional point of view, beef contains the highest level of 100% bioavailable heme iron and is the best source of vitamin B12 both essential for manufacturing blood cells and also for the normal functioning of the brain. but it's your choice of course. Have a nice day
that's complete bs, red meat is highly nutrient dense and easily digestible - it doesn't cause diabetes either- another myth pushed by big food who desperately want us to keep buying ultra-processed garbage
Keep the meals and recipes coming using your recommended foods and ingredients! Love hearing your ideas!❤
