I love the interpretation of "great power comes great responsiblity" in the manga; rather than having to do something because you are able to, it discusses how do humanity keep themselves in check and the age-old question of "are we simply animals with a higher intelligence?"

i think it was a good move to not make him peter parker, because the entire series would be out of character, this spider man is his own character and fight in his own way
He's a og Miles Morales type character, he's a spiderman but not a Peter Parker, and he's Japanese, truly a unique spiderman, I hope he gets a cameo on the upcoming spiderverse movie alongside Peni Parker, I bet their interactions would be interesting considering they are in essence Japanese version of Spiderman, except the other version is literally anime

The Japanese show Supaidāman was actually very fun and comedic with cool monsters and quirky action and dialogue. Even Steve Lee said that he loved the Japanese version so much and wished Supaidāman would be a part of the MCU one day. I think it’s just the manga writers who wanted to write a different perspective of spiderman. And I’m sure anywhere is miserable to live at depending on your social status and whatnot. Take account of basing one’s cultural/regional expectations to a different place.

Alternatively, it becomes too much for them, and they take their own lives. Japan is also incredibly cold to foreigners. Expect much of this to be a little bit worse than it is for locals. All in all: don't live there. Visiting is okay, but for your sake, don't live there.

Back in the late 90s, there was a manga shop in my hometown. The shop is part cafe part library part bookshop. Kids get to sit in the shop and read mangas all day. There were free manga reading sections where the mangas there are put there by the owner and can be read for free; there was a section where mangas that were still ongoing at the time and we had to pay member fees to access them. Japanese Spider-Man manga was in the free section. I remember reading them with my buddies and were confused by how different it was compared to the Saturday morning Spider-Man cartoon.
They could bring it back with the protagonist moving back to Japan and becoming an Spider-Man there, Red Spider or something. BTW, if he only got the suit, how was he able to be Spider-Man without the powers?
I’m so glad Fake Red is somewhat getting attention again and according to the author on Twitter he’s returning to another Spider-Man manga, I don’t know if it’s a continuation of Fake Red though. Either way let’s hope Yusuke Osawa gets the attention he deserves.
Damnn man, the symbolism in this manga is just... magnificent. Its not just illustrations of actions, it expresses something, its pure Art. I hope this adaptation is turned into an Anime one day
Fake Red definitely needs to get an adaptation! But I wouldn't mind an anime based on Peter himself. Maybe incorporate some harem elements given Spidey's reputation on being an American Harem protagonist lmao.

I gotta say, I'd like them to take the Kamen Rider approach with Spider-Man. By that I mean to take "Anyone can be Spider-Man" and have different people be Spider-Man, not just focus on different versions of Peter Parker. Miles Morales and Miguel O' Hara for example enablee the idea of a Legacy of Spider-Men, passing the torch to the next era's Spidey. Kamen Rider did so ever since the idea of a Kamen Rider 2, V3, X etc... Different characters, different stories, while also keeping some key similarities when it comes to powers, villains etc. From one Spidey to the next and one after and so on...

I feel like the general theme and arc of Spiderman/Peter Parker actually works well with Japanese culture. From potential villains being based on Japanese mythology to commentary on some obviously shady cultural issues, a Spiderman manga could be as great as the Spiderman 2 film. If it got picked up and someone really ran away with it, leaning towards that aspect, it could be something super awesome.
I'm curious how Spiderman's suit in the manga Fake red looks so close to Spiderman's MCU suits at least some parts of it did MCU also dig up these old spiderman manga for inspiration 🤔 very interesting
It definetly would've been cool to see the Fake-Red continue cuz we could watch Yuu become a better spiderman by improving his bouldering as well as watch New-York and it's criminals slowly grow suspicious of Spider-Mans sudden change in demeanor and physique. Also would've been cooler to let the cast expand since it felt there so few significant new characters there only being Yuu and Emma. Damn it would've been a fun read

it came out around the time of the PS4 game, so I assume that's where the suit got some of it's design cues from.
It's official japanese mangaka can improve upon anything. One reason is artist freedom.
