Ciao Luca, thank you for the Video and the information. I also bought a used Podmic and looking forward to it. Which Boom arm are you using in this video? Looks great!
Hey Rob! thanks, enjoy your podmic! I’m using the elgato wave lp. Did a video on this matter yesterday: Elgato Fixed EVERYTHING! ruclips.net/video/Q4LVNkPUUms/видео.html
Hello Luca, I loved your review of this mic! I just got mine today and I’m excited to start using it. However, I’m a realy conflicted about whether to get the Elgato LP boom arm, which you have setup for this video. I haven’t had the chance to hear directly from someone with this setup, and your feedback would really help. I’ve seen several reviews mentioning that the PodMic, being a hefty microphone, doesn’t pair well with the Elgato boom arm. Some buyers have complained about the boom arm sagging after a while. What’s your experience with it? Do you think it holds up well over time? Would you recommend going ahead with the Elgato LP boom arm, or should I consider other options? Thanks in advance!
Hi Victor, thanks for your comment. Now, it may seem like a basic question, but the answer is a bit tricky. I had the first-wave LP (yes, they did make a MK2 version), and it handled the weight of the microphones, especially the SM7B, much better. With this new version, it works, but it could be improved. Using the PodMic is fine as it’s a pretty compact microphone. In my specific case with the MK2 and the PodMic, I’m happy with how it holds up. You need to keep everything pretty tight in the third and second joints, but it works well. Another great solution is to use the PSA1+, but of course, it’s not a low-profile arm. I’ll do some testing and probably talk about that in the next videos. =)
@@Lochlens Thank you so much! I would appreciate it if you could address these concerns in upcoming videos. I’m sure many others are also on the fence about making the same decision.
A lot of this mic are defective. A bunch of them die after some time and a lot others (via USB) keep disconnecting. Have you ever had this problem? This mic is really good, but it has become a nightmare for a lot of people. Really sad!
I hear you. I had a friend telling me the same thing last week, and he switched to the new MV7. That’s super sad, yes, totally agree. It could be a batch issue that is now fixed. They had an issue with the headphones that were weak on the arc, and they fixed them. Rode was super helpful when I reached out for assistance, honestly. No issues at all with my PodMic, and I travel with it quite a lot.
I actually have this mic and love it i had to compare many different sound bytes from other mics from youtube. Since i don't have a an xlr interface yet this is perfect for when i eventually uprade via the streamdeck plus xlr thing elgato just released unfortunately we don't have it in japan yet or wait maybe it got released last week i need to double check
Hi and thanks for your comment :) Same here as you can tell by the video. I honestly think that you don’t really an interface for the most cases. I would probably use a streamdeck plus and connect the podmic USB and use Rodecentral to tweak the audio effects. With this method the podmic takes care of the voice effects. If you use the streamdeck plus + XLR dock all the effects you apply there are effects that your pc CPU has to handle and sometimes it can be annoying. it also really depends on what you are looking for of course.
my favorite video on the podmic usb!
ohh thank you so much!
Hey!.... It's me Marrrrio!
