Amazing. This is exactly what I suggested they do when I bought the original Wave LP arm. I actually had them replace mine under warranty, because my MV7 was too heavy for the arm. The only improvement is that I wish they included a grommet mount. I contacted them several years ago to suggest they include one. I ended up buying a Rode PSA1 grommet mount and used a plastic flange bushing to reduce the hole to the size needed for the Wave LP. It works well, but does not match and had to be purchased separately. It's pretty disappointing that they still do not include one.
Actually you are super right about this. When I think "pro" I think the stander mount that most of the pro mic have. This one has still the old one+adaptors. It's Kinda easy to workaround it as if you loosen up the joint and turn it is quick to set up but still..not like the ps1+
I would like to recommend the microphones from Universal Audio since they come in white and their audio quality is on another level. It would look great with your white setup and thank you, what a great video.
Honestly yes. it’s not like the price is inflated. simply the basic one is great and the pro is very situational for heavy setups and a premium manoeuvrability:)
Very timely, I was looking at a nicer LP arm option or a sturdier desktop option, it will make sense to wait a bit for these. I also have some small ik micro monitors, do you think those would sit well on the new desktop stands?
Hi, Well I’ve tested the stand with an IPad Pro 11 inches and it has no problem. I think it can easily handle 3/4kgs so it depends on which monitor you have ;)
@@Lochlens hi that is helpful... I'm actually referring to IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitors, awesome little near field speakers that just need some lift in my bedroom setup
I honestly like the Italian accent and it doesnt bother me maybe bc im from the EU and im used it but none the less great video, I had the OG lp arm and wanted to switch to the white lp pro but 199 euros - HARD pass.
Hi! thanks a lot =) RUclips is helping me a lot cleaning my english a bit! As for the arm yes, not worth it if you are not having troubles with the old one.
😅 Seeing my comment pop up on screen felt surreal! I definitely had my moments listening to you address some of my concerns. Thank you so much for the update and follow-up. I eventually settled with a sturdy floor mic stand that perfectly suits my sitting position, and I’m really happy with it (it holds the mic well without sagging). It’s awesome to see Elgato consistently improving the LP boom arm from community feedback. While I’m still in awe of this line of products, I do feel like the price point for the boom arm makes it as much of an investment as my microphone! Hopefully, in the future, I’ll be able to pick one up without thinking about the cost.
Hey Vic! Thanks for coming back to the channel. I agree with you. The price is too high to justify an instant purchase, unfortunately. Please le me know what you end up buying!
@@Lochlens Product Name: Weida Pro Wd-122 Microphone Stand While searching for an alternative, I found this floor stand used on a podcast, and it held the Shure SM7B without sagging or wobbling. yeah the S6 is more comparable to the standard wave arm LP in terms of features. the cool thing about the gas spring is that is more versatile compared to the standard tight/loose control that the s6 and the wave lp have.
Lol your are right thanks. The naming doesn't make sense at all as they have the Wave LP and the Wave Arm (high profile). Why this one is Wave Arm PRO?
@@Lochlens I thought about it, I think they made low profile their standard because it was way more popular, thus no need to specify LP anymore. And anything not low profile will be likely given a separate prefix in the future

Thinking of both the SD1 or the Blue Sona in white. I'll get one of the 2 before Christmas for sure haha. Thanks!
Thanks for the insights and the great video! I'm curious, which XLR mic cable are you using in your setup?
Thanks! It’s an Italian hand made cable from Gianluca Rigotti: www.rigotticables.com/
sick cable!
Is it really worth the price though?

Looks like a slightly changed rebadge of the Thronmax Twist S6

Well not a bad point tbh 😂
