Do you like the Rode or MV7 better for online class recording (no audio studio); USB and portable... :) I'm torn between the two... this will be my first podcasting mic.. :) Thoughts?
Can I ask you from a sound prospective which one do you prefer between the Podmic USB and the MV7? I'm really undecided between the Podmic USB and the Mv7x (I already have an audio interface so I would grab the x version if I decide to go with the Shure, even because on XLR it sounds slightly better as far as I heard) about the PodMic USB basically same same thinking, for me there will be no difference in using it via USB or via XLR, so my only concern is about the sound, what sounds better in your opinion? Thank you. (they cost basically the same in my country)
@@PhillipRPeck thanks for your answer! it was also my pick but I tought I had some bias with the brand and wanted to be sure, so yeah thanks, great review btw
interesting how well known respected reviewers are saying the podmic usb doesn't have a mute button on it? seems like you proved otherwise with a simple push of the dial on the back.
Rode unify is better than connect and central however I wish rode would stop just making mixers for their mics alone and allow other microphones because people would use it more
I was under the impression that Unify can be used with mics from other brands, hence the subscription model. I could be wrong, I couldn't get it to install on my Mac. I know it has the Aphex processing, but it seems like elgato Wavelink can do most, if not all, the same stuff
@@theoutsiderjess1869 Ok, thank you for letting me know. I thought I had seen a video where they explained that Unify was a subscription service if you don't have a RodeX mic. Maybe that's coming later or maybe I was hallucinating 🙃
Ive seen a few reviews today. You are the only one who found the mute button! Everyone else was saying it didn't have one
This mic is good just not 200 dollars good but 150 good in my opinion

I think I like the Podmic a bit better.
Hello. Thanks for the review. Can you tell me if the microphone can simultaneously output sound via USB and XLR ?
It's only one or the other
I prefer the sound of the Podmic on my KRK Rokit 6 G3's vs Shure ones.
Awesome Overview , do you believe it can work well for hip-hop vocals?
Thank you. I have ZERO experience in music production, but I don't see why not
Thank you , I actually bought it for that cause , I hope it works well for that@@PhillipRPeck

Um, probably the MV7

This is super helpful. Thanks!!
Thanks! I saw your video on the Rode StreamerX. It's like 8 degrees of Kevin Bacon but Rode version
@@PhillipRPeck haha 😂
Can the Podmic be made to sound deeper and richer like the shure?
You can use EQ to increase low end frequencies for sure
The included usb c cable, it looked like it was usb a to usb c, is that right? I just got my pod mic usb and surprisingly it was usb c to usb c
No, it’s always been C to C as far as I know

Eh, we all make mistakes... but maybe that's what happens when people are in a hurry to feed the algorithm
The mic mute button only works when you're using the rode software. Otherwise, it'll only mutes the headphone monitoring.
orginal podmic with wave xlr or podmic usb ?? or shure n7 which is better
I don't know anything about the Shure n7. The Podmic USB has a bit of a nicer sound, IMO, than the original
I love your plosive test script 🤣😂

@@PhillipRPeck i heard the same so I was confused that I couldn't use my other usb mic

Yes
@@PhillipRPeck Where is it? I can't see it

Press in the dial on the bottom
RODE PODMİC MAONA PD400X ?
Good question... I guess I should make a video
@@PhillipRPeck mv7 podmic maona arasında kaldım sabırsızlıkla bekliyorum karşılaştırma videonu ona göre bi tanesini alıcam :)
The original sounds nasal. The new one has a richer sound. For now I'll stick to my MV7.
