i have my sony xm4 connected via 3.5 to my PC (on the speech eq profile within the mobile app) andf i can defintely hear a subtle difference from USB to XLR. I am actually quite happy its only a subtle difference as many youtubers have said the usb sound is bad compared to XLR. for someone like me that sort of minor difference will be completely unnoticable during use! thank you for such a great helpful video!
Thank you for your review. I'm thinking to use the mv7+ as I'm starting to begin my voiceover career. Would that make sense to you? I am also soundproofing my walk in closet.
Great review! Also great selection for comparisons too. Love the Podmic USB out of them all, even tho it leans a tiny bit bright. The MV7 + is a great mic, but that price...
For personal use, the Fifine AM8 works alright. For a bit mor pro use, the Rode is becoming a very attractive option. The MV7+ is way overprized in this category and, as you said, there's more competition now.
Hello brother, I am also purchased mv7 plus mic but I need some suggestions from you. Please can you tell me how can I contact you personally because I'm a blind person I can't able to explain here
No one of the other options can compete with the shure mv7+ and mv7. The Shure microphones simply make the most natural sound as opposed to the artificially exaggerated sound of the cheaper options. Unfortunately, it has to be said that the sound quality of the microphones increases with the price. So, the winner is the smb7 followed by the mv7+ and mv7.
the sm7b is not recommended for casual use since you need an audio interface and a way to increase gain the mv7+ is much simpler as its usb and does the job for almost all uses except for recording vocals (at least on a professional level) from podcasting to talking to friends online, to zoom calls, streaming, recording videos and much more
@@agab3asbgedsbef479 I was not referring to casual usage? Not everybody wants to casual. And regarding the sound quality it is like it is. Smb7 > mv7+ > mv7. Br,
Shure MV7+ Software it better.Able to create sound work in a variety of formats as desired. But if you don't want customization, the SM7B is the answer, with more bang for your buck. with additional equipment and difficulties in portable use, such as connecting to a mobile phone for live broadcasting, etc.
Great review and great channel - you've got yourself a new subscriber. One question though that I haven't seen answered anywhere: How does the MV7+ handles (room) echo? And will denoise help with that too?
I bought one just now, receiving it tomorrow. I used a at 2020 and I felt like upgrading a bit without having to shovel out too much for a shire mic (I wanted the one everyone wants lol) but I think I might like this one a bit. Seems better than the at, but I’ll see
its honeslty an amazing mic for anyone watching this video or reading the comments. i purchased the mv7+ few days ago instead of the regular mv7 just because of the usb C update and i can plug usb C and XLR and use them both at the same time. Yes its nearly $100+ more but in my opinion its worth it if you dont mind saving up a bit more or if you have the money already. Love my purchase, felt like the sm7b is to much forr what i want to do and the mv7+ is in the middle and i personally think it is perfect for what i use it for
The MV7+'s software is very well made, allowing us to create a wide variety of sounds. It might not be as good as the SM7B, but if it's tailored to you, it's worth it. Guaranteed to be another interesting microphone.
@@hoju510 because i want to use it on usb, otherwise i would just buy the mv7x with an audio interface, so i would like to know which one sounds better
Will your DSP settings stay on the mic if you switch to another computer? My work PC won't allow the software to be installed, so it would be great if I could set it up on one PC and have the settings saved in the mic to the work PC.
Yes! The DSP settings are retained in the mic so you can set it up on a personal device and then connect it to your work device. I have the same issue with my day job and it worked no problem for me.
also WAY more expensive since you need a preamp and interface ON TOP of the mic cost. so yea its obv going to sound better. the mv7 is is entry level as far as podcasting mics go since you can always convert to XLR later down the line for better sound quality.

only 70$ more than podmic tho

Just got one today, quality is amazing and love the denoise option. I can record outdoors, airplanes, cars in the background no problem

Really great video. I was all set to purchase this mic until you talked about the USB cables. I am going to keep seaching.
Wish they made the "Shure" logo on the mic, Black. Like they did with the new version of the SM7b
At the end you mentioned there are cheaper options. But you didnt say any... disappointing.

The rode nt1 5th gen is really the only real competition in the usb space. Tho that's also a condenser mic.
@@Kurisu-SanYT What do you think about the podmic usb, is it better than MV7+?

Excellent review and superbly delivered!
What would you suggest for a usb only use? the MV7+ or the Podmic USB?
why does it matter if it also includes xlr?

I picked one up and I love it
Exceptional demonstration, I just subscribed.
This is the best review hands down! Thanks.
I want to buy it is it good enough compared to the Rode Podmic, I have that one I want to rent it out just to see how good is it..
Hmm, on my KRK Rokit 6 G3's I prefer the sound of the Podmic vs the Shure with no DSP on this video
amazing comparisons buddy, amazing video too.
thank you!
No De-esser?
can i use this mic with my macbook air
m3???
yes bro
What if I could get a used Mv7 for $100 , is that savings worth the loss of upgrades
Mv7 plus is the king no doubt
XLR sounds so much better.
