SemiPro Tech+Gear

Almost professional gear & tech reviews, tips and more.
What does semi-professional mean? I don't have formal training or education in film, engineering (audio or otherwise), computer science, etc. I review products and software that I've used or currently use from the point of view of someone who loves to "nerd out" on tech/gear but I'm also not a professional in these fields.
My experience:
+ Content Creator - I've run the @PODinsights channel since 2021 and do all the filming, audio, and editing/post production myself. Feel free to check it out if you want to learn about selling print on demand products on Etsy 😃.
+ WFH Professional - I've had a WFH job since 2019 and use various tech+gear in that space.
+ Gear Nerd - I LOVE audio gear, video gear, pretty much any tech gear. I could talk about it all day and will if you let me.

Airpulse AU-4 Bluetooth Speaker - New Vintage
The Airpulse AU-4 is a powered bluetooth speaker with aptX HD plus 3.5mm and 1/4 inch inputs and vintage guitar amp styling. There are a couple of minor downsides but overall it's a nice option if you're looking for this style of speaker.

NuPhy Halo65 HE Review - Everyday HE
Просмотров 4,5 тыс.14 дней назад
The NuPhy Halo65 HE is their third hall effect keyboard and it's my favorite so far. It's got a usable layout for daily typing and gaming, and the typing feel is just a tad more comfortable than the Field75 HE. If you want extra buttons & dials, the Field75 HE is still a better option, but the Halo65 HE is the best value in the line in terms of performance for the price. *CHECK OUT THE HALO65 H...

Epomaker RT65 Review - Fun & Affordable

The Epomaker RT65 is a neat little 65% keyboard with a removable color LCD screen. It has a nice stock sound, solid wireless and good quality keycaps, but the batter life is a little disappointing. Lemokey L4 Review - Great and Confusing
Просмотров 3 тыс.Месяц назад
The Lemokey L4 is the second TKL layout in the "L" line from Lemokey, Keychron's gaming brand. It has excellent build quality and great customization options, but it does not have the unique gaming features found on the L1 or L3, which means it doesn't stand out from other TKL's on the market like Keychron's own Q3 Max or the excellent Evo80. *CHECK OUT THE L4* (affiliate links) ⭐️ Lemokey Site...

is it a gasket mount keyboard or not? anyway love their gateron switch sound, hope it can be used to nuphy air75 keyboard
After instalation I can't link receiver and transmiters, do you know why?
what do you recommend for a boom mic arm or stand? thank you.
First of all, thank you very much for the review, I really enjoyed it, secondly, can you detail the difference between the switch you bought, and the v3 switch, which you talked about in the video?
I think people support the company on Kickstarter because it is going to do something unique. But in the example of Lofree, we received unfinished products every time. Moreover, everyone gave up their software, in favor of the consumer, but Lofree spends part of the budget donated to it on a useless application, just to avoid paying for VIA\QMK\ZMK... Instead of collecting all the known ingredients in its main products, Lofree decided to make money in the mass market by releasing a cheap product with a lot of flaws. I think I am no longer interested in this company.
Please stop saying "for the price point". Is it a good keyboard or not? You can't compare and pull it back with "for the price point". The difference in price is not that much, add a couple of months to save and get the Q1 Max. For a review it would be better to compare the sound and backlight. Price doesn't make a keyboard good or bad, just stick to the pros/cons/difference and not justify that you'll get a better one if you spend more.
Dude that was a great review. You told me everything I needed to know about it and helped me make my decision to buy it. Thank you.
Does this keyboard come with keycaps for Mac (Command, Option, etc)?
Brilliant review, thank you for this
@Corsair make a K55 no page up/dn home, r/ctrl and align the arrows with Enter for a boxy type
Yeah at this point, I’m leaning towards the Lark M2 for all the things you mentioned. I don’t see myself using both mics while using my iPhone to vlog, so stereo over usb-c isn’t a dealbreaker, and I’d rather have a receiver I can use with my mirrorless cameras if/when I use them (which is where I would want stereo sound anyway). Plus the Black Friday sale price on the combo kit is a steal; $153CAD vs $199CAD for the Rode Wireless Micro. Thanks for the comparison video!
Samson sounded the best to me.
That space bar though sounded so good 😮
Can I use other languages like Korean with this keyboard?
Nice review, I am a Mac user and love it, there is lots of boards out there from companies from Asia who said they have Mac support , but still lacking, no proper keycaps and software that’s only available in Windows. This is 2024 and the Mac with the Apple Silicon is a beast. I am looking to mod mine, any suggestions about a good set of good sine through keycaps with Mac labelling and a good tactile switch for moderate gaming and productivity. Keep up the good reviews.
it is sad the keycaps is not shine through by default
Hello , I am a programmer and never bought a mechanical keyboard. I am thinking of buying one from keychron. Which model suits my needs ?? for around 100 dollars. Can you help me to select one ?? i first looked at k6 but now to this model and i am lost....
Outstanding video showcasing exactly how to put together an affordable and extremely versatile rig. Wasn't a question left unanswered!! Amazing thank you
R I.P to the iphone USB-C port 😂
I have been watching reviews looking to get a microphone just to note on their website the lark m2 is $110 USD for the combo version and $90 for individual lightning or usb-C for black Friday. I am so on the fence about either one I may just purchase both. If I had one I am leaning lark because of the $90 price point. Great review
Great video, everybody thinking about X9 Pro vs X10 Pro should watch this
Picked up a Halo65 HE after watching your review. I really like it especially the way it sounds. I like it as a keyboard and the fact that it is amazing for gaming is just a bonus. It was the first HE keyboard that I had seen that made me think I would like it as just a keyboard. All the previous ones just did not sound that great.
How would you say this stacks up to the Rode Wireless Pro now that they have these updates? I'm in between the two. Thanks.
No backlight = sucks.
Now is at 56 USD and possible to connect with 3 devices by BT
I have the Air75 V2 and it's incredible. I'm thinking of getting the Air75 HE that was just released, but I'm still trying to figure if the difference will be that big to make the change.
I guess i am going for Lark M2 combo now. Since i have pocket 3 with dji mic 2 mic.
Excellent work! Do you have a shock mount suggestion for the Sony Ecm-s1?
Hello, i am an TikTok creator from Romania, can you recomend me an ssd for my iphone 16 pro max? i am recording using that and i think i need that upgrade
Got the v2 with cowberry and i enjoy the sound =)
what ssd drives would have access to Apple firmware updates and compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and or 5 ?
Can you suggest a keyboard that has a performance like this and is also 75 percent but under the 100 dollar price
Nice video, keep it up. I bought this keyboard now from 111€ at Amazon España. I bought rare keychron retro keycaps in Portuguese and I am excited to install them in my new keyboard. After too many searchs, finally I think found a replacement for my MX Keys.
Is this keyboard good for gaming?😊
Idk the sound quality seems to be not very good, lot of mids there, prob not for me and I stick to the Wireless Go II
The thing is, it’s not you who will be listening, most likely, so it doesn’t need to appeal to you, but to the average person.
Fantastic review. Thank you. It was a little hard to tell but was the wireless mic ro cutting out when you had your back turned at 50 m? Or just the Lark M2
They both cut out when I turned around at 50m, but the Wireless Micro was a tad more stable - it seemed to reconnect after a second or two where the Lark M2 just kept breaking up. At 100m both broke up about the same when I turned around.
@@semiprotech Thank you for clarifying that for me! I have a Rode Wireless Go II set but I want a system that wont be dangling off of my phone like I've dealt with for the last year and a half. I just bought a Lark M2, but I'm very curious about the Rode Micro.
@@semiprotech I can’t imagine a real shoot where a person wearing a working lavalier microphone would need to move even 50 meters away from the camera, let alone turn their back to it. Therefore, I don’t understand the practical purpose of such tests. What difference does it make whether the microphones can maintain the signal at 50, 100, or 200 meters? They are typically used at distances of a few meters, maybe 10-20 meters from the camera. Otherwise, you’d end up with just sound in the frame without the person.
So can my 2023 Macbook Air M2 take advantage of the X10's highest transfer speeds?
If you can select different switches and shine through keycaps are available I would expect you can order new keyboard with them. This should be improved in the future because I don't need two set of keycaps especially that I would like to use only specific one :).
I wish Nuphy came out with a 100% layout. I can't seem to get used to the 96 with the squished numpad.
Just got the DJI Mic2 today, but had this video bookmarked for when it arrived. Followed your tutorial, all went very smoothly. Thanks so much!
Your video lighting is way under exposed. Doesnt even look like you have light on your face or any of the front of the desk.
What’s your take on IQUNIX Magi65? Do you have any plans to review it?
As far as damaged Flexispot desktops, when I got my E7 Pro the top was badly damaged. I reached out to Flexispot with photos and they apologized profusely and immediately shipped me another top, which arrived two days later, and told me to keep the damaged one. Great support experience. I actually ended up cutting down the damaged top to make another, smaller desk lol
Thank you for sharing!
Amazing board, but the RGB is useless because no shine through key caps.
Wait.. This is not wireless? Why?
It costs 29 dollars in India )
Saving this on my amazon list :) Thanks for the reviews as always!
Wow!!! Head and shoulders better than any other Micro review I've seen (a lot of them). You cover far more than the others, compare with direct competitors as well as pro kit. I have a Fulaim X5 which I love but I think the Micro gives better audio. Like the Micro it's location affects the audio response (no one else talks about that). Best 6" in front of your mouth which is naff! I use it under my T shirt with the windmuff on. Congratulations. I'm subscribing!!!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful.
@ I'm continuing to check mic reviews. I wish they all watched how you do it as they all fail in several ways!!!
Incredible, only nuphy can make such a cool keyboard with Hall of Effect under 90 bucks))
Thanks for this excellent review/overview. I've watched a bunch of reviews of this mic and this is the first one I felt the need to say "thank you". Question: If you or a friend/colleague have an Insta360 X4, can you test to see if the Rode Wireless Micro can be plugged directly into the X4's USB-C port and work? I've tried that with other wireless mics and it doesn't work for me. I find I need to use the X4 adapter to provide power to the mics' receive and then (if the receiver has the feature) transmit audio to the X4 using a short 3.5mm audio patch cable. Thanks
