The Kickstarter for the Flow Lite is now live! semiprotech.link/flowlitekickstarter Also I wanted to clarify about the switch options - I didn't know this at the time I recorded the video. For the Kickstarter, the Flow Lite will come with the Specter linear switches installed. The Hades silent switches (and the original ghost & phantom switches) can be added on for $39.
Attention Silent switch shopper. Shipping start from US$12 to US$55 depending where you are. Hades switch is not an option, Add-on for Hades is $40 a pop and only content 90 switches (good luck if you go for Flow100). The "affordable" flow lit 84 keyboard is now 69 + 12 + 40 =🦄$121 🦄 or for Flow lite 100 = 💕$171!!!💕
If I sound a little different in this video it's because I had a minor dental issue the day before and wasn't 100% back to normal yet...didn't want to delay this one!
I was really excited for that marketing of $69. Up until now where they have stated that all keyboards will come with a default switch. So if you want hades (the new silent switch which many are a fan of) you have to add it separately to your order, which also will add an additional shipping cost on top of the shipping for the keyboard itself. So for me (in the US) that $69 turned into 125! Just to add the switches I want and the high shipping costs. If you are fine with this more power to you, shipping does cost money, but it's misleading on lofree to have never pointed out until the end of the campaign, that you can't actually choose the switches you want, and by adding them you double the price of the purchase. Additional the switches they offer only come in packs of 90, so have fun ordering more if you get the full-sized option.
I agree, I'm not thrilled with that detail being held until the Kickstarter launched, which was after I had completed my review so I wasn't able to comment on it. It's a good value if you happen to want the regular linear switches, but they should have been clear about the purchase options before it went live.
Hi, Loved the video it was full of information, as I am looking at getting the Lofree Flow and then saw your video for the new model and would really like to get lite version however, can you please tell me if you have heard if this will be for sale in general stores anytime soon and not through Kickstarter?? Thank you!
I reserved mine weeks ago so I could get it for half price on launch day! I am still undecided between the sizes but considering it's low profile it is something I want to be able to travel with too so I may just get the smaller 84. I heard from another reviewer that the silent switches have a little bit of a feedback feel so that appealed to me and I wanna try it! Thanks for the excellent review!!!
I have the Nuphy air 60 and gotta say i'm actually a bit disappointed, it doesn't feel amazingly great and not well lubricated, the lofree ones feel a lot better imo
Hey man, after you did your kickstarter pledge, how soon after did they send you the survey? and do they give any indication as to how quickly it will show up after the order?
@@ActuallyAbdullah They sent me the survey I think last week? Apparently shipping will be delayed by 3-5 days due to an issue. But I think mine should ship around the 14th-16th of this month. Not sure how long it'll actually get to me though. It's from overseas, but if it's anything like NuPhy I got mine within a week or two after the shipping date. Hope that helps!
will there be a Lofree Flow V2 or is this it? i suspect that there will still be a V2, considering that this has improvements but is still the Lite version. maybe they are testing the waters with this for the V2?
Thank you for making this review! I really like the Lofree lite a lot. Much better than the lofree edge imo and I can’t wait to see the lofree flow v2 in production later this/next year! I hope to see you reviewing the Keychron K2 Max and its HE version as well. I also hope to see a review on the Womier RD75 and compare it to the Bridge75 you reviewed. Hope to see more keyboard reviews!! Good work and take care sir
I have an Air75 V2 and love it, but those Khail phantom switches sound amazing. I was going to get the Lofree Flow but it didn't have 2.4ghz which I need because I use my Nuphy as a couch k when we decide to game on the TV. I was going to get this until I saw there is no black option. How?!
You're the only reviewer that I've seen talk about the app. Everyone else seem to brush it off. Awesome! Question, can you configure the lofree lite to have layers? I have a nuphy air75 V2 and a lofree flow. I like how I am able to set the caps lock key to a modifier and have hard to reach keys mapped to where my fingers rest. Makes it a lot easier when I'm coding and doesn't mess with my "flow".
I don't think there is anything useful in it. Especially working with layers. Was this even in the companies' own software? The same reason why Loffree's products are not suitable
It ended up being $85~ shipping to my part of USA when I locked in the early bird price. Not a bad option under $100 USD if you're into low profile mechanical keyboards.
Do we know for sure we can't choose which switches we want? I also want the Hades mainly for office but not buying it if they're sold separately. I'm okay with both white and grey if they're sold with a specific color.
@@CursedNagatoguess we have to see, people say they emailed them and they said its additional buy... but maybe they will hear us and add it as a standard because many people say on reddit they will not buy keyboard without hades switches.
Does it sit comfortably on top of the Mac keyboard like the Nuphy air 75 v2? I like how it’s specifically designed to do that. It was the only reason I returned the lofree flow for the nuphy. If it does, I’m buying this one!
I have a request. Can you expose Lofree on how it handles their potential customers right now? Lofree doesn't make Hades as a default. The Price goes above $130 + VAT that way. They also promote 90 switches but don't get the issue to sell a 100 keys keyboard with it.
I've read the switches/sockets on these are ostensibly Kailh Choc V2, but there are compatibility issues between the Lofree-branded switches and the Kailh-branded switches. Is this something you can comment on?
If they fit the kailh choc v2 they should fit the regular kailh branded switches. I did notice for my haute42 (game controller that takes kailh low profile) the shadow series of kailh switches (ghost and phantom) fit pretty tight. Not a dealbreaker, and hopefully for these since it's going the other way the choc v2s may fit a little easier since they ought to be a bit slimmer than the phantom and ghost.
i'm afraid royal kludge invests little interests in typing feel and also have finish issues in my experience from one keyboard i tried from them where you can see molding residues. they just look good if you don't look into it. also the display is not full circle as images suggest. this triggers my ocd. but this is my take
Like these but manufacturers need to start including much larger batteries with wireless backlit keyboards. If Im buying a wireless backlit keyboard its because i want to have the backlighting on. The chinese and taiwanese manufacturers have already shifted to 6000 to 8000 mah (typically with 2x3000 or 2x4000mah batteries) so 2000 or 3000 mah is way way waaaaaaaaay behind...
FYI, the Hades switches must be purchased as an add-on for an additional $40. You cannot have the Hades come as the default switch your keyboard. I pre-ordered with $1, but will be asking for a refund and will not be backing the project. Their marketing has been misleading…
Great review. They really need to allow you to select which switches you want, rather than making you have to pay extra to get Hades or other switches.
Unfortunately no, that wasn't made clear until after the kickstarter went live. The Flow Lite will come with the regular linear switches installed and if you want the silent Hades switch they have to be added on.
@@semiprotech thank you so much, I might sit this one out until they come out with another option. I have the lofree flow and happy with it. It sounds even better than the original flow IMO. I will certainly buy one.
Just remember the flow lite is only cheaper for the kickstarter, then when the kickstarter is over it is ONLY 30$ lower than the Flow 100.
Yeah not worth it and still cost more the nuphy air75 v2
Yeah this pricing makes no sense, if it’s supposed to be a budget model they should either have it be the KS price or $100 tops
