Johnny Depp took the stand today in his $100m defamation trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp and Heard are squaring off over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post calling herself a domestic violence survivor.
Depp claims he was booted from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise because of the 'clear implication' he was the abuser in Heard's op-ed.

I honestly do not understand how someone with such a past can come through and be so successful- Johnny Depp, you are a living legend- you make your father proud.

This is so incredibly heartbreaking… I just want to embrace Johnny and hold him. The sheer pain this man has experienced is nothing shy of tragic. He’s such a sweet sweet soul. His description of childhood trauma , the fear, the walking on egg shells, the constant being put down… I’ve been there.. I know how he feels… I don’t care for his movies, never watched them… but I can honestly say I love this man’s soul. I hope those that believed the lies about him will now see the truth.

I just want to hug Mr. Depp and comfort him. He has endured abuse as a child that set him up for the same treatment as an adult. My Dad suffered the same situation, and I use to cry for him.
@@butterflygirl2285 I understand what you are saying but as adults we are responsible for our own mental health so that we don’t repeat patterns of abuse, either directly. We have to protect the next generation from victimization by allowing similar situations in their lives and if we aren’t very careful, just one poor choice in a mate/spouse/partner, such as Amber, can ensure our own children’s certain toxic relationships. We have a responsibility to do better because we know better and have the opportunity to receive therapy on a much wider scale. Awareness is really a wonderful thing but with it comes the understanding that we should take advantage of the resources awareness brings.

It was way before mental health and psychiatry was ever accepted by the general public. in previous generations the general view was that to discuss family issues was disloyal. A person was expected to pick himself up by his bootstraps and carry on with life. it was only after I became a mature adult that I could understand what my Dad endured.
This testimony is very telling about how Johnny ended up with Heard to begin with. Growing up in that environment, you start to see it as normal. Even when you put it behind you, your exposure to it makes you almost crave it.
He said the first year and a half amber wasn’t an abuser and he liked her she was completely different and that’s why he was with her

I’m 10 minutes in and I see where they are taking this. Asking Johnny to talk about his abusive mother in his childhood…leading to where he ended up with Amber and probably reverting back to that child and not leaving or fighting back.

I experienced this, exactly as he says. I was never the person I have been accused of and honesty was what I told my ex I valued most and he tried to destroy me just like this for daring to leave the abuse. Mr Johnny is a wonderful person that showed how brave you need to be when the justice needs to take place, and you need to step up to make it happen even when you are in a dark place. He is a giver without thinking to gain anything back, and realising what have been destroyed after 30 years of glorious career, he is still one of the greatest gentlemen on heart. Is unbelievable how a spoiled kid could take all this away just for her own benefit and try to blame such a great man for it. Heartbreaking what he went through as a child. Such a gentle soul. I have watched this more than once and it still touches me like the first time. I will never get tired of his voice. He could read the phone book and I wouldn’t get bored, I think. What a story. And he took care of his mom to the very end.
As I listen to Johnny, I can see the irony and similarity of his life as a kid and his life as an adult.He wisely has taken his experiences as a kid and turned them into a positive. Through his ability to be so open about his life is a gift to those of similar experiences. Ironically I believe once Johnny visited my Twitter account in making a comment on one of my videos which I was highly surprised that some one of his caliber would even take the time to comment on page that may not hold the statue as some of his fellow celebrity friends. Now through the means of this court frenzy I can see that even behind the scenes of the rich and powerful, we all are the same in feeling pain and the need to be loved. Johnny if this comment should somehow reach you,I would like to say to you; as you stated you are obsessed with the truth, well the light of the truth will prevail.
