Maul's story arc in Son of Dathomir is great,...shame that they have not made it fully into a clone wars episode, though one can always use the imitation ;) Son of Dathomir full audio comic for that experience.
Me as the Normies are finishing Clone Wars and about to start Rebels after we have been at them for years to watch it: "The mission, the nightmares, they're finally over."
@@paulwayne8367 While yes, it doesn’t go over Mando society, Inquisitors, the Force, brings back big CW characters or how the rebellion started, it mentions A TON more about post-CW era Star Wars. Which makes sense, considering it start’s literally after CW. It goes into how the Clones got decommissioned, how the Empire started going, Stormtroopers, Kamino, Tarkin, etc. If you want Force-related stuff, Rebels is good. But overall, BB fits more in timeline, and would answer any lingering questions The Normies had
There are THREE 'phantom apprentices' in the episode: 1. Maul - Sidious's forgotten apprentice (also, the title brings to mind The Phantom Menace, when he was introduced) 2. Ahsoka - to Maul, she is the unknown jedi apprentice and so he learns about her to determine his next action 3. Anakin - Sidious's future apprentice, the true phantom apprentice whose presence weighs over the events of the episode despite him not being shown at all
I think the Phantom Apprentice the title refers to is Anakin, because the whole plot of this Arc revolves around him. He is present throughout the story, but not actually there. A phantom.
Ahsoka agreed with Maul's plan, she said it herself RIGHT until Maul said "because Anakin is going to turn dark side" and Ahsoka could literally not believe that. Everything else she was like yes yes yes for sure lets do it, Anakin?? Turning evil?? You're crazy dude never mind
34:03 everyone screaming with hype being excited like normal fans, me reacting the same way as Eric being like LISTEN TO THE DOPE LINE MAUL JUST SCREAMED
@@Commander_Shepard. Because both Aaeron and Eric bring nothing unique or interesting to the Normies reactions. Furtheremore they already saw the episodes and for apparent "Star Wars experts" they constantly make tons of mistakes and are unable to analyze and criticize a Star Wars show due to their bias towards them.
small reminder that when Ahsoka first appeared at the beginning of the Clone Wars she was 14yrs old, and now that we are at the end of the War that means that she's only 17 right now. still so young and yet how much she has grown, she proved how wrong were everyone that doubted her character back in 2008.
They post their upload schedule each week on their website, it had it listed as only 7x9 and 7x10. That’s normally the best way to know if they’re dropping extra episodes or not
The thing that struck me most about Clone Wars, is that I really believe that Maul is completely sincere in his offer to join forces (heh) with Ahsoka. I kind of feel sorry for him really, he seems so lonely.
15:54 Not only did they recognize the music in the beginning when Anakin rescued Obi-Wan with backup that it was referencing when Luke did his rescue plan, but the music when Ashoka begins her descent is the same as the opening to Episode 3. This is meant to mirror the face that at the same time, Anakin and Obi-Wan have returned to Coruscant and gave begun the mission to save Palpatine.
"Every choice you have made has led you to this moment" to me this was the best Star Wars since the prequels it created one of the best characters in all of Star Wars - Ahsoka Tano and made Anakins story so much more tragic and Heartbreaking when he fell.
I am just here for the reactors crossover! Love both of you alls! (Also surprised that the couch can fit all of you... always thought it maxed out at 7 people 😂)
Honestly, I think we’ve all been waiting for the reaction to this finale since you guys started the show. It’s for sure my favorite arc of the clone wars. Everything is S tier. And to have Eric and Aaron join you guys in this as well…it’s honestly surreal. Pretty much any Star Wars fan would be hype to see blind wave with you guys on this since Star Wars is such a large part of their channel. I can’t wait for next week. Love the reactions guys. Been watching for over 6 years and I can’t wait to see you guys continue to grow.
Two of the best Reaction crews teaming up?!? We are winning today everyone 👏🏻. Eric and Aaron’s SW knowledge is an amazing and smart way to finish Clone Wars.
42:52 and 5:38: Yeah, they could bring back the rest of the cancelled CW arcs and episodes in a new show with the same animation, similar to tales of the jedi. That show would be 2 seasons long with like 20-22 episodes for each season, cause there are 10 cancelled arcs still left in total, as far as I'm aware of.
For one thing, Suraj your joke at the beginning with the "skit" shit was hilarious. Eric and Aaron being here for Star Wars, my two absolutely favourite groups collaborating? Absolutely brilliant.
Man, I'm 23 years old, old enough to be able to control my feelings one might think, yet still, seeing Anakin and Ahsoka interact for the last time makes me cry like a kid.... up until the end Anakin was the pinnacle of a Jedi, not taking dogmas for granted but thinking in the moment, being strong and confident, being compassionate towards his comrades... after watching the Clone Wars, seeing, or in this case hearing, him fall to the Dark Side makes me wail uncontrollably... This season will forever leave me broken inside
Love that Blind Wave got to join them at the end of their Clone Wars journey. Can’t wait for Rebels to start. Keep up the great work guys. You’re awesome. ❤🎉
Glad to be reliving these moments via your reactions. With my own viewing group, we did two rounds of the entire series (first time was in prep for viewing the just released season 7, and the second time before The Bad Batch premiere). As for Rebels, we're now on our second go-around. The first was tied in with our initial Clone Wars viewing (and then concluded with Resistance). This time, in prep for Ahsoka.
The normies with Blindwave, what a duo ! Great to see that they invited Eric and Aaron for this latest reaction and saw it together. Lastly, I'm pretty sure, they cried and were shocked for the last two chapters, like all of us who saw the end of a long story.
It makes me wish that they did lightsaber duels with mo-cap from the start it is so clean looking. Spidey was also correct in saying the dialogue was the same that Ahsoka and Anakin said when they referred to Palpatine. When Obi-Wan tells Anakin that he is to spy on the Chancellor, Obi-Wan says that the Chancellor shouldn’t be in office anymore among other things and tells Anakin to use his feelings because something is out of place here. Then Anakin says “You’re asking me to do something against the Jedi code, against the Republic, against a mentor and a friend that’s what’s out of place here.” Cant Wait till next week!
I was a sobbing mess watching these last episodes... Just Anakin seeing Ashoka just had me so emotional... Everything about this 4part finale is amazing!
Dooku’s death being confirmed in this really hits hard. Him and Grievous were always the villain of the week that got away at the end of every episode for years.
Although the Ashoka/Maul stuff was amazing for me one of the best moments is that Where Obi-Wan mentions Dooku’s death. I mean he was one of the main villains of this show (with Sidious and Grievous), one of the most powerful characters in that time who they fought many times through out the show and suddenly he is dead. I love Ahsoka’s reaction, just pure disbelieve and shock.
11:02 What happened here can be seen in the 2003 non-canon clone wars, btw. Maybe you could watch that one too and it's not that long. Also Obi and Anakin are heading for Coruscant to rescue the chancellor and not for defending the people on the planet surface, technically.
36:00 The timeline of clone wars getting cancelled: Disney took over Star Wars and cancelled Clone wars in March 2013 after season 5, if I remember correctly. At that point Dave and co. had already started working at season 6 so Netflix allowed to put up the remaining episodes and arcs that they had already finished on there (which was about half of season 6. (I think originally, before getting cancelled there would have been 8 seasons with like about 20 episodes each.) Then in 2020 the show returned with another, final season which was also only about half as long as a normal season of episodes. Therefore, there are a lot of still unfinished arcs and episodes which haven’t been released to this day, 10 arcs in total.
And around the time of its cancellation in 2013, Disney focused more on the original trilogy. Hence, Rebels, some books and games being only original trilogy based, Rogue One, and the sequel trilogy which used the OG template but didn’t really succeed in the TLJ and ROS. Let’s admit, the prequels weren’t exactly loved 10 ten years ago. Not loved like today. And like Eric said, George spent alot of his own money to make Clone Wars episodes. And since he retired when Disney bought Lucasfilm, Disney shifted focus because we influenced the content that we wanted to see and we still are.
Even though Darth Sidious isn't physically present throughout most of this final arc, his presence and influence is so palpable (pun intended) that it's almost like he is in every scene. Maul is still so terrified of Sidious that he can barely even bring himself to say his name, and he has no idea of the nature of the soon-to-be Emperor's plans - Maul just knows it's coming, he just doesn't really know how. As shown by Maul's last words this episode: *_"Let me go. Let me die! You're all going to burn! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE! You don't know what you're doing!"_* he more than anyone knows the absolute cruelty and suffering that his Master, Sidious, can inflict, so much so that Maul would much rather die than live under Palpatine' control, as he knows that death is a far better fate than being at the non-existent mercy of Darth Sidious. The scariest thing is that despite all of the possible ways in which things could have played out slightly differently, I don't think that anything would've actually stopped Palpatine's plans. Even if Maul and Ashoka had joined forces, there's no way that they could have "destroyed" Sidious as Maul claimed - Sidious drove that point home loud and clear in the previous Mandalore battle in Season 5. The best that these different events could have done is make things slightly easier for the heroes, but they wouldn't have stopped Emperor Palpatine and the rise of his Galactic Empire.
Haha I thought I was missing something lol, couldn't find the ep anywhere & it's not even on their upload schedule. Glad to see i'm not the only one eagerly waiting!
The fact that Maul had some small idea of what would happen when Sidious takes over and that for it to scare him so bad that he practically begged for Death is insane I've never seen the show, but just from watching clips of it shows the brilliance of Dave, the castz and production team 🎉
We have waited for this for so very long. And, now that it has come, it will be a day long remembered. Great reaction, Normies w/ special Guest Star appearances by Blind Wave's Eric and Aaron. They're MERGING!!! (in Eric's voice). Can't wait to see the last half of this movie. May The Force Be With You...
Seeing Ashoka in action on the descent down to Mandalore in the first episode for the first time since Season 5 had me tearing up the first time I watched this. It's so awesome!
Never sat right with me about Bo trying to guilt trip kenobi about Satine, when she was the once who spent seasons trying to dethrone her and was partly responsible for Maul getting to power
Just watched the supercut version of Revenge of the Sith and the final 4 episodes of Clone Wars they mentioned at the end, made by a guy named Numeral Joker/Mecha Salesman on youtube. 4 hours and 15 minutes to get through all of it but what an experience. Seeing these events take place at the same time as the movie, everything Maul and Obi-Wan are saying, and order 66 hasn't even happened yet... This show is incredible! Can't wait to see your reactions to the final 2!
Eric is really good at letting other people react and then ask and then he drops some quick knowledge without being overbearing, knowing some annoying star wars fans that won't shut up while watching stuff I've had to tell them to chill multiple times I now have to stop watching tv with them, I wish they were more like him lol.
There are so many things that I can gush about this arc, but the one thing I'll mention is that I love how the opening of episode 9 unashamedly mirrors the 2008 Clone Wars film to give the series a sense of coming full circle. Also, really happy to see Eric and Aaron stop by and both comment and clarify throughout. Good times.
I like how you were complementing the mauldalorian armor because I bought a Gar Saxon (the leader guy) helmet and i where it when I watch anything star wars.
Having the Blindwave guests, particularly in the discussions, is a great way to cap off an amazing end to this series. This final 4-part arc is some of the best Star Wars content produced, IMO, on par with the top-tier movies and Andor.
If you guys haven’t yet, you should check out the 4-hour supercut of Revenge of the Sith. It adds footage from this arc and the Gendy Tartakovsky version of Clone Wars that shows the attack on Coruscant.

Fun fact: The same stunt person who mo-capped Ahsoka here also does the fight scenes for the Armorer in The Mandalorian. Her name is Lauren Mary Kim.

Seeing these events take place at the same time as the movie, everything Maul and Obi-Wan are saying, and order 66 hasn't even happened yet... This show is incredible!
Can't wait to see your reactions to the final 2!
I have a theory that the female Mandalorian standing next to Saxon, Rook Kast, at 26:35 is The Armorer
Good times.
8:51 it’s funny how she caused this whole mess. She and that other dude brought maul into mandalore business in the first place
But she's a queen and we can't mention that.
How you guys gonna sit through the entirety of the Clone Wars and still think Anakins turn to the dark side is out of nowhere 😂
Because they don't think.
I like how you were complementing the mauldalorian armor because I bought a Gar Saxon (the leader guy) helmet and i where it when I watch anything star wars.
"I've been looking forward to this"
That’s crazy guest!! I like watching all off y’all coming together 🔥
Eric next to Chris is the crossover we all need
Having the Blindwave guests, particularly in the discussions, is a great way to cap off an amazing end to this series. This final 4-part arc is some of the best Star Wars content produced, IMO, on par with the top-tier movies and Andor.
"This is cinema" - Scorsese, Martin.
I am so glad it is my day off, i smoked a joint and had a few drinks, to then hop on youtube and see this upload😊
It's not hours 13:00, it's s few days at least.
34:00 listen to Liam, you need to hear mauls lines!!!!!!
If you guys haven’t yet, you should check out the 4-hour supercut of Revenge of the Sith. It adds footage from this arc and the Gendy Tartakovsky version of Clone Wars that shows the attack on Coruscant.
