To the people complaining about them not doing bad batch first. This was voted on. Also it was supported by BW on the CW finale reaction. Aaron said he named his 3rd kid Kaanan. The Ahsoka show is being called s5 of rebels. In Mando s3, Zeb literally showed up. So if they want to understand all the live action shows, rebels is necessary. Bad batch just elongates the transition from clones to storm. Not really that important right now.
Bad batch is also about the Empire wanting to control cloning which leads up to the Mandolarian and the new trilogy. Everything is connected and I do agree that rebels makes since to watch now that Zeb was introduced in the latest episode
Rebels has to come first anyway because the Ahsoka show is coming. It's pretty much Rebels Season 5
It makes more sense to watch Rebels first anyway imo, considering it aired first, and directly leads into Mando and Ahsoka.
also Rebels>Bad Batch
Doesn’t help with them thinking those are clones in the stormtrooper armor. But you shouldn’t need Bad Batch to figure that out.
Fun fact zeb was the original design of Chewbacca from a new hope until they changed it.
It especially makes me chuckle at the hairless wookie joke
Nah uh
Lmao thank God they changed it
i prefer zeb, they changed it because it would be extremely difficult to do and cost a lot.. So we got basically a hairy walking carpet that I never cared for
@@Pinkielover you should see the original design though, it’s freaky and terrifying and would have been hairy like Chewbacca
Kanan Jarus is one of my favorite Jedi. Freddie Prince Jr put his heart and soul into that character.
No doubt. There were lots of Jedi that I liked from Clone Wars and all, but Kanan is a cut above them all.
It's seriously the best role FPJr has ever had.
Kanan Jarrus is one my favourites too. Plus Freddie Prince Jr is great as the character. Hopefully we'll get to see Kanan in live action in the future.
Too bad the writing for the character was absolute garbage.
@@williammccormick984 how so?
I can already hear Marketa in my head, so clearly, saying: " I just- I love Hera. So much."
If I was gonna guess, she is going to be her favorite, full agreement.
Well Hera's my favorite on the Ghost crew so in this case I agree with her.
I think you can hear her saying that because all of us have said it before.
I wonder when Chris gonna realize that Stormtroopers aren’t clones 😭😂
It's funny the number of times people will insist that they are. "They wear similar armor so they MUST be clones!"
Hopefully one of their Patrons will tell him, or has already.
Barring that, when Ezra's age is explicitly linked to key events, hopefully he puts it together.
That or the Blindwave crew explicitly tells him.
It's extremely obvious to us, but the Normies are still normies.
Im guessing when whatever show they are watching via public vote, says that their not clones. They have no reason to think they're not clones atm.
Yea I'm surprised after so much SW media he would understand the difference by now
It's been thoroughly proven Chris doesn't know as much about Star Wars as he pretends to know. He's that annoying kid that goes wElL aCtuaLlY and then proceeds to give you entirely incorrect information. He just likes to talk and always has to be the main person in the room. No one else in the group is as overly confident in the information they don't know
Man I forgot, and a lot of the SW community did as well, how GOOD Rebels can be when it's good. The music is on point, and most importantly, the SW vibe is front and center. This was Star Wars AF
I don't think people forgot. The thing is when Rebels came out, people were still furious about the cancellation of Clone Wars and the fact that SW had been sold to Disney. It didn't help that a lot of the Clone Wars fanbase were in their late teens at this point, so the more lighthearted nature of Rebels and the focus on the Ghost crew as a familly was not "edgy" enough for many of the fans who had gotten used to Filoni's darker writing. The Normies are lucky because they get to see Rebels as an extension of Clone Wars instead of a replacement.
Spidey mentioned how real the troopers looked in the beginning and I had totally forgot - the animation looks fantastic. Like compared to japanese anime, there's so many facial expressions and minute detail you don't get from 2D animation. Like Hera's pensiveness near the end, also her worry when Ezra said he didn't have parents. So much emotion
@@organizerbmothat animation style takes some getting used to. I still hate the way some characters look ("Yoda).
@@marshsundeen💯
I've always said Rebels has the best part of every Star Wars property. The innovation and fun of the OG movies, the emotional weight of the prequels, the excitement of the sequels, and the heart and soul of the Clone Wars. It's also a lighter alternative to Andor. People are tough on 'kid-oriented' media but it often has the simplest, best stories.
"She took off her helmet." Well, yeah. Mandos took their helmets off all the time in the Clone Wars, too. And in every other piece of media other than the Mandalorian.
But it's not the way. 😂 In all honesty Mando is the reason all these normies (actual people not these guys lol) even go so hard for mandalorians nowadays. It's like the same reason everyone loves Spartans or Samurai they're just so cool but it's lead to a false perspective of the culture of mandalorians. It's also led to all mandalorian Legos being wayyyy over priced but that's another story
This show feels like such a love letter to the original trilogy and I love it
Just like how The Clone Wars felt like a love letter to the prequels. This is planned, Dave Filoni the goat.
Yep
The voice actor for Chopper is revealed in the credits of the series finale. You can Google it if you want to know. Definitely someone you would recognize.
Dave Filoni. You can literally just say his name. It's not a big deal.
@@williammccormick984he probably wanted it to be a little Easter egg for them, your real fun.
@@averywoolfe5809You're.
Try again.
@@williammccormick984 no need you clearly understood what I said. Funny you edited that comment too 😂.
@@averywoolfe5809 Right, why would you want to write in proper English? Not like you can read or interpret above a 4th grade reading level.
And the comment was edited because I originally called you an "illiterate dipshit" and thought that was unnecessary. Thanks for proving my instincts correct.
I just love that first moment Ezra feel the force...Almost nothing is said, only a feeling and the mysterious music...The force works in mysterious way and connect people in the most unexpected way !! Always seeks balance...
Actually Ezra felt the force all his young life but didn’t know what it was
What makes it even more meaningful is that he felt the force while looking directly at Kanan. And Kanan looked back towards Ezra and would have seen him had he not ducked down.
The literal Force itself brought them together. Creating a force bond that means so much to both of them cuz they don’t see each other as just Master & Padawan but father and son as well as family.
@@Funboi68he did feel it his whole life but he felt it the strongest when _Kanan_ came to Lothal. Further showing that the two were always meant to find each other
29:01 just want to point out to Mickey that Obi-Wan sent that message out right before he discovered who led the attack on the Jedi Temple, and what happened on Mustafar. Something like that isn’t easily moved past
Thought it was after he found out that anakin had done it.
@@happyphoto200 "I have recalibrated the beacon to warn all surviving Jedi to stay away"
Zeb was in fact the same character you saw in the Mandalorian. The same voice actor is credited at the end of that episode.
Gonna repost my timeline again:
BBY stands for years Before the Battle of Yavin (as seen in a New Hope)
Revenge of the Sith / Clone Wars Season 7 / Bad Batch Season 1 … 19 BBY
Jedi: Fallen Order … 14 BBY
Solo … 10 BBY
Kenobi Series / Jedi: Survivor … 9 BBY
Rebels Season 1 / Andor Season 1 … 5 BBY
Rogue One / A New Hope … 0 BBY
So it’s interesting to think that Rebels and Andor are happening at the same time, lol
I think that's why Kallus (ISB) has so much control, it's post-Aldhani
With Andor on the picture now i like to think that Rebels starts around 1 year after it's events since in the Andor show it is shown that the Rebellion it's still in a phase of completely covert missions and secretly building their forces.....
While here in Rebels they are already opposing the Empire in a more direct a overt way.
@@BlackBurrito9073 Andor could be at the beginning of the year and Rebels is at the end
Rebels season 1 start at the end of 5 and cross to 4 after the first episodes. So I think it's safe to say that it's post andor s1.
Out of Darkness (1x7) is the last in 5 bby and Empire Day (1x8) should be the first in 4 bby
Here’s a tip for anyone confused about or who simply forgot where in the timeline Rebels is - Ezra is the same age as Luke and Leia so the older he is the closer we get to A New Hope. Maybe it helps someone out ❤️
Man why did I forget how good Rebels is? This was great watching again. I’m glad yall are reacting to this.
Rebels is such an Underrated show
can't wait for the journey for the rebel recations
So happy the Rebels journey has started 😄
Imagine my surprise when Vader started speaking in my native language. Had to double-check (czech?). :D
Same
I know y'all have gotten enough comments already about clones not being stormtroopers, however the good news is you'll learn more about how that happened/what happened in the bad batch. which might be finished by the time y'all finish rebels. Hope you keep enjoying!
There are also context clues throughout later Rebels episodes.
Whether these guys pick up on them is a different matter 😂
I've also assumed others have politely yelled at them that the stormtroopers aren't the clones.
You guys really should finish Rebels before you watch the "Ashoka" series. You will (likely) have some of the biggest "Rebels" moments spoiled if you don't. A more firm release date for the series should be coming next week at SW Celebration.
Also, there is (probably) going to be footage of the Ahsoka series released next week. which will (probably) contain major spoilers for Rebels. You should avoid watching it at least until someone screens it first for spoilers.
It was already announced Ahsoka premiers August 23.
So happy we’re here. I love rebels. Hera Syndulla is my favourite character in all of Star Wars. She’s so warm and so tough and the best pilot in the galaxy. Chopper is also easily the best droid.
Hera is basically the "mother" of the group.
But I'm afraid Chopper is not the best droid. That would be HK-47, the comical trigger-happy assassin droid with a dark, twisted sense of humor.
@@vetarlittorf1807 bd-1 reigns supreme, bro is wholesome while sitting on cals back as he executes a shit ton of people, bd-1 just goes with it lmao
@@connorgarvin2056 Yeah, but BD-1 doesn't make jokes and he doesn't know the true meaning of love.
@@vetarlittorf1807 Imagine a meeting between HK-47 and Chopper. The galaxy wouldn't stand a chance.
Chopper is great but R2 is best droid. (HK is also up there)
I’m always so excited so see people start Rebels! I love Clone Wars but Rebels just has like an extra special place in my heart :)
I was so confused. I thought I missed the part where Ezra first opens the holocron and hears part of Obi-Wan's message. I'm surprised that was cut from the video, I assumed there would be a big reaction to hearing Obi-Wan's voice, and the same message he recorded in Revenge of the Sith.
Yeah... agreed
A very suspect editing choice.
It might be one of those situations where what a informed viewer might consider a big deal due to layers of context, is a just a memberberry scene for the general viewer.
Same its def the highlight of this intro to the series and really furthers the interconnectivity between this and the original and prequel trilogies. Also it made for the greatest trailer ever.
Fun fact, the "explanation of the Force" Kanan gives Ezra is actually the same Obiwan gives Luke in Episode IV, word by word. It's probably in the Jedi 101 handbook 😁
I totally forgot how good the premiere episodes are. 😢
I forgot 'Kid I'm about to let everyone in on the secret' was in the first 2 episodes! One of my favorite scenes ever. "I am no jedi" by Ahsoka is #1
@@organizerbmo💯🔥
26:14 I don't know why that moment is so hilarious. I mean, it's straight up murder, but you can't help but laugh out loud every time you see it.
Glad you guys started on Rebels. Now you won't be lost when Ahsoka starts in August.
On the off chance you will see this, you might want to watch the Rebels shorts. They take place just before this episode. They were intended to give each character an introduction. Sabine's introduction was her painting graffiti and blowing things up, so it's totally her M.O., and the Empire knows it.
19:18 What’s the difference between Clones & Stormtroopers?
Clones are genetically identical soldiers created using the genetic material of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, who was recruited by the Sith Lord Count Dooku to be the template for the clone army. The clone army was created for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars to fight against the Separatist droid army. They were grown at an accelerated rate and trained in combat from a young age. Clones were known for their exceptional combat skills, loyalty to the Republic, and their iconic white armor.
Stormtroopers, on the other hand, are soldiers in the Imperial Army that were recruited from various sources across the galaxy, including citizens of the Empire and former clone troopers who had not been affected by the accelerated aging process. They were trained in combat and equipped with white armor similar to that worn by the clones, but their training was not as rigorous as that of the clones. Stormtroopers were used by the Empire to maintain order and suppress rebellions throughout the galaxy.
The only few Clones that remain in the Empire & I say explicitly are under Vader’s Division/Unit; 501st Legion. The other remaining Clones are wearing Phase 1 black armor, & red visors which are known as Purge troopers.
If no one understands yet between Clones & Stormtroopers, watch the Bad Batch series. There are several episodes that clearly proves it as if the creators have been telling & getting us to understand them. I get that feeling from them “How many times do we have to tell you & make you understand?” when they differentiate them through the Bad Batch series. I’m just saying.
To further clarify, it’s basically judging a book by it’s cover.
FOR EXAMPLE ONLY:
All nerds wear glasses. Therefore, are considered nerds regardless. Same could be said if someone spoke in English you’d assume they’re American. Stereotyping don’t you think? Clones & Stormtroopers wear white armor for that instance.
Without gushing more, Rebels is the only other ensemble that I love the main crew from top to bottom, including Chopper. Yes, Chopper is a whole ass character 😅
Only new Droid I didn't instantly dislike... C3PO and R2D2 grew on me...
Out of all of Star wars this is the only entry that focuses primarily on the characters. Clone wars had its moments but it's mostly about the war and less about the crew.
I just love how the force is a character within itself. It's guiding the story along in a beautiful way.
And so begins the Normies journey with Space Aladdin
A good point another reactor made (specifically in the Obi-Wan series) is an issue many of these shows have is we already know the fate of many of the characters so the emotional investment into the story can only go so far if the ending has already happened for them. Rebels became a fantastic show near the end because you truly didn't know what was going to happen and gave you a fully new group whose paths were not yet walked.
All we knew for sure in the latter part of Rebels was *something* had to keep Kanan and Ezera out of the events of the original trilogy. Other than that we were flying blind. Good times. Stressful times, but good.
I guess Kallus kicking the trooper off the platform is equivalent to Ventress force-pushing the B1 “whyyyyyy” droid trooper off the platform in the CloneWars movie. Both happen in the ‘pilot’ (if u count two-parters as a movie).
If people are wondering agent Kallus’s helmet is based off of Roman galea helmet, worn by Roman “imperial” generals
"Kid, I'm about to let everyone in on the secret" is my favourite saber reveal
I forgot Kallus did that 😂😂
As others have said, this takes place maaaaany years after Order 66. Most of the clones have died of old age at this point.
not necessairily old age, as a bunch were still at least alive. But the empire no longer used them as forces and conscription and just people in general that signed up were the stormtroopers.
No, none of them have died of old age yet
Glad you guys are onto Rebels! You won't regret watching this series. I also hope you continue to do at least two episodes per video, not just when there's a two-parter, so that you can watch the Ahsoka series sooner. The events of Rebels are very important for the Ahsoka series, which comes out in August
Fun fact: When I watched the premiere as it aired, I also called Ezra Aladdin. I was like "So Disney took over Star Wars and made Aladdin a Jedi?". Then they literally call him street rat. And NOW, we have the actor who played Aladdin in live action, also cast to play Ezra in live action.
Eman Esfandi is cast to play Ezra. Mena Massoud (live action Aladdin) was rumored to be cast as Ezra but from what I remember, I don’t think he passed the initial screen test. But yes, Ezra is basically Aladdin lol.
@@drawingwithmaisy Oh, strange. I heard people say that like it was a fact. I guess people just take leaks and rumours as official before they're confirmed or something.

Y’all are in for a ride watching this series, you’re going to love it !😎👏
Those walkers in the back are called AT-DPs or the All Terrian Defense Pods. They’re sort of a precursor to the AT-ST
Since they keep asking:
Bad Batch is an immediate continuation in time from Clone Wars, season 7
Rebels is about 15 years after ROTS, 4 years before ANH
Shocked the Blindwave boys didn’t smarten them up about this, they were in studio,
Yeah when they announced they had a discussion video with Blind Wave coming I thought, "oh good, so they won't be completely lost when watching Rebels." welp
They probably did and the Normies just forgot or didn’t pay attention. They miss the simplest stuff all the time
@@theascendunt9960 Nah Bad Batch is great.
I LOVE how much of the art direction on this show is inspired by Ralph McQuarrie's concept art.
Content suggestion: How about a video call with Eric from Blind Wave to answer all your non-spoiler continuity questions. Because you guys are pretty lost continuity-wise. lol
Just to give you guys a heads up this show takes place years after Jedi Fallen Order, Solo, and the Obi-Wan Show and about 4 years before A New Hope.
Cal, Jaro and everything in Fallen Order is completely unrelated to this although the game was inspired by both Rebels and The Clone Wars!
Also Clones and Stormtroopers are not the same. Clones are copies of Jango, Stormtroopers are random people from across the galaxy that joined by their own choice
The Bad Batch will cover everything that happens with the clones and Stormtroopers.
While most astromech are clearly dogs. Chopper is most definitely a cat.
Man I don’t know what number of rewatches I am at with this series, I watched when it was coming out and several reactions did a rewatch a few months ago. And have started another to prep for Ahsoka, and now there’s this.
Man, this show… it’s easy to forget how much things change by the end. Super excited to follow this journey.
14:05 i never realized that you guys have never seen the original Gozantis. well here they are. Actually Gozantis do make background appearances in the Clone Wars (like that one episode where Padme and Ahsoka go to meet the separatist senator, gozantis are the transports they took). these ships were made famous to nerds (like me lol) in Rebels and expanded upon in later shows like The Mandalorian (they’re first life action appearance)
Also the feeling of being thanked when giving food to peeps who need it. ❤
For timeline help. Ezra and Luke's birthdays are about 2 weeks apart. Ezra is 15 when Rebels starts.
Oh yeah! Trust me, you guys started this at the right time. You’re going to LOVE Rebels. Every character has something for you in some way, yes, even Chop. Lol.
Ultimately, this show really starts slow and light-hearted but goes full Star Wars almost immediately.
Also, the lore building they do throughout is incredible.
The purple guy was in the most recent Mandalorian episode.💪
They watched this before the most recent Mandalorian episode.
The stormtroopers aren't clones anymore at this point, they are imperial recruits or conscripts.
Ezra will be played by Eman Esfandi in live-action if you're wondering what he's supposed to look like. Those are not clones those are just Stormtroopers this is 5 years before the movies.

I'm so glad they're starting this show now, and that they seem to really liie it so far. The characters in Rebels hold a special place in my heart so this wil be cool to see after concluding Clone Wars!
my favourite detail is ezras choice, kanan was going to let him keep the saber because if ezra chose against being trained he didnt want it, he was letting ezra choose between training and rebuilding the jedi or forgetting it as a whole so if ezra said no kanan was going to cut himself off from the force
Deadass Aladdin lmao, yall gotta keep in mind that this show was made wayyy before the series finale of clone wars when Disney purchased Lucasfilm.

Chopper is an *ancient* astromech droid, predating the R series. I didn't give his model as he's built from a bunch of old C series spare parts.😂
Yes, that's Zeb from Mando season 3 :)
I love how this show feels like the original trilogy tonally.
The clones are all biologically 60-70 by this point. The show takes place around 13-14 years after the events of episode three. So all the storm troopers are all regular human volunteers and conscripts
The droids working for that guy are the original concept art for IG-88, and concept art C-3P0 & R2-D2 can be seen on the train
Fun fact the dude who voices Zeb is Steve Blum who voices other characters more noticeable is him being the voice of Wolverine

Someone probably already pointed this out, but just in case... Storm troopers (i.e. imperial troopers) are not Clones. They're regular people hired by the Empire. Clones were just to expensive to create, so they switched to hiring regular people, and that's why they suck so much.
Rebels!!!! Yes!!!! Continuing the star wars lore, I love it. Enjoy the journey guys and keep up the great work 💯
Chris: French Horn lick.
Me, a French horn player: RECOGNITION!!!!
One of the things The Bad Batch shows is the transition from the Clone Army to the conscripted Stormtrooper corps. The clones were all gone within the first five years of the Empire's reign. Any Stormtroopers you see in this series are regular Imperial citizens who either enlisted in the Corps or were conscripted.
I'm glad you guys are watching this, Rebels is SO GOOD! I'm rewatching it right now to get ready for Ahsoka
Anything done in Andor is inspired by anything in Star Wars Rebels cause any show in this era or after can thank the Ghost Crew for the rebellion not falling.
I'm so happy you guys react to this! I will be watching every week
Zeb's race (Lasat) design is actually based on the original character design for Chewbacca for A New Hope. So it was kind of an inside joke that the stormtrooper says, "That's not a Wookie."
I love Rebels for subverting expectations and having Jabba the Hut as the main character
This show takes place 15 years after order 66.
Sabine’s starbird artwork went on to be adopted by the rest of the rebellion and was combined with Saw Gerrera’s three pronged symbol to create the rebel alliance insignia!
Timeline hints: full Stormtrooper Armor, Star Destroyers instead of Acclamators.TIEs instead of Vwings, and Wookiee enslavement is cranked to full bore. Also The Grand Inquisitor is here Grand Inquisiting, so definitely after the events of Kenobi. Remember, o66-ANH spans a full 18 years.
NO, the Stormtroopers are NOT Clonetroopers. The Stormtrooper ranks, Imperial Army, and Navy are filled out with volunteers and conscripts.
So happy you guys are watching Rebels!
Love that you guys started this amazing series! NOTE: These Stormtroopers ARE NOT Clones. They are enlisted soldiers from across the Empire.

The clones have been rotated out. I know it is weird but you will get use to it. Enjoy!
I always found this interesting:
15 or so years have passed, so Ezra Bridger - the kid - would have been either born during the Wars or right after it ended. I don't remember his age, but you should figure something out once you've watched thru...
Also, chronologically, Bad Batch would have been the next up for reasons I can't explain because spoilers... but Rebels make the most sense to pick up, especially with Mando's looking like it will be picking up more Rebels storylines this season and future seasons.
Man, I love Rebels.
@@Phizzo4real he's born on empire day (so during RotS) He's 2 days older then Luke and Leia

Does chris not know that at this point the empire doesn't use clones anymore?
He just doesn’t know he’s being stupid and wants to believe that he’s right all the time.
Based on what he said throughout this entire video, I'd say he does not. It's very obvious to us (uniforms, voices and accents are different; and we have a stronger base understanding of timeline and lore) but to normies who are fuzzy enough on the continuity, I guess it's not.
That said, the show hasn't dated itself internally yet.
I doubt he'll figure it out, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt until the show states how many years since it's been since Order 66.
26:48 I think that's one of the Wookie gunships, like the ones you can see in the Clone Wars "padawan lost" arc.

This basically takes place at the same time as Andor
