Excellent timing, thank you as I’ll be doing this stretch next weekend! 😂 I totally agree with your comment about the mindful aspect of trail running (or clambering!), people often ask if I get bored on long runs but on routes like this there is so much to engage the brain and even when it’s really tough it’s also weirdly relaxing ☺️
Thanks for watching Juliet! Have a great recce run at the weekend, let us know how it goes and what you think! Glad it’s not just me that likes these bits 😊
Wow... just wow. How absolutely beautiful. What an incredible place to train and race in. I live what you said about trail running requiring you to be "present". With my squirrel circus of a brain, being on the trails is the only time i am ever present... if only so i don't break my neck! 😂
Thanks for this Elena. Have not run this section of the coast before and this will be of great value when running the Classic Quarter in a few months. The colours of the sea around this section are something else, and for wild life, I remember seeing basking sharks whilst watching James and the Giant Peach at the Minack theatre. Great times!
I’ve followed you from doing recce runs for last years AoA and your race run was unbelievable, 28 hours I believe 👏 good luck this year fellow Plymouthian 😀
Brilliant Elena. Your videos have been very helpful, particularly this one. I got lost last year at mousehole and wasted so much time there. This in the end peed me off so much why i couldn't find that little alley and it just got to me until the minack theatre. I dont have crew and live too far away to recce it unfortunately so this will help big time. Glad you loved the race and are back again this year. See you on the start line. 3rd attempt for me, but feeling a lot more confident this year. I have done lots of 100's and should have nailed this race but like you said in last years video....anything can happen in 100 milers and with me it normally does 😅
Thanks Elena, life is conspiring to prevent me from a recce trip, so I'll be watching YT a lot! I've done Lizrad to Marazion and Minnack to Zennor, that's pretty much it. See you on the 26th. I'll be the one that looks woefully undertrained! 🤦♂
Thanks for watching Ian! I think most of the route is covered somewhere on RUclips and with the gpx and route descriptions on the mudcrew website you’ll be set up well 😊See you in a few weeks 😀
😂 "pretty risk averse" Signs up to run for a couple of days in the dark along some gnarly cliff edges in winter weather for 100 miles. Perhaps the words you were looking for were bad-ass who likes to look after their ankles? Just discovered the channel. Awesome stuff. Keep it up, will be watching your dot this Jan and cheering you on 👍 .
Very enjoyable video that left me wondering about how many participants are injured doing that race? Since this is in January, do you use cold, tepid or warm fluids or a mixture of those to hydrate during the race?
Thanks for watching 😊I don’t know about injury rates but Mudcrew and their medic team do an excellent job of briefing us all to try and reduce the risk as much as possible. The drinks I carry on the course are all cold but hot drinks are available at the main check points for warming up and my husband has a flask of hot tea on hand for me when he meets me 😊As far as I’m aware it hasn’t gotten as cold as it has done on races further north in the uk and for those you might need strategies to prevent liquids freezing 🥶

Thanks for watching and enjoy the Classic Quarter! It’s a great race 😀That must have been pretty magical watching the basking sharks at the Minack!
Another great video. We love that coast….so much that we are moving to live in Sennen this month!
Oh wow, what a beautiful place to live! 😀

Once again very watchable. Arguably a little too short (the video!) but please, keep em coming ma'am.
Ha ha thank you, nice to know someone might be prepared to watch for longer! 😊
