Eleana... could you do a short about how you set up notifications to eat etc on your watch :) it's all beyond me and sounds like it wud be very beneficial....
I’ve just uploaded one for you 😊Let me know if it makes sense! I’ll make some more for setting data fields and uploading the gpx file over the next couple of days too. Thanks for suggesting the content! 😀
@@elenaoutdoors fantastic. I'd have never managed to do that :) thks again...sugary apple dainishes will now be eaten :) M zip lock bags great idea too.
Those trails are so technical!! i had no idea the route was that hard to run. Ive looked at other folks doing this race but now i have even more respect for you guys that attempt that race!!
6th? 6th? 6th?!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! WOW! 😲 dot watching and wishing the best but my god, that was epic!!!! Hope you enjoyed it as much as your finish position and time dictates that you did! Rest, fuel and revel in what can only be described as one hell of a race! Huge well done 🤩🤩 x
@@elenaoutdoors absolutely! Husband first found you and said i'd enjoy the content as it seemed like my kind of thing and I'm so glad he did as I do! :) really so very pleased for you and your ARC finish, were you hoping to finish so high up the field? x
Brilliant video, Elena. Gives a good idea of the terrain to expect. Great tips too, especially about the elastic in the gloves and unwrapping food to put in a ziplock bag 👌 Thanks for sharing 🙏
Great advice Elena. Especially, don't try to keep your feet dry, take the straight line and remember your shoes are not there to keep your feet dry but to protect them...seems obvious but I am always hopping around puddles at the start of these events....
Thanks for a great series of videos Elena, I did my own Arc recce earlier in the year but this is a great aid. Good luck on the run, perhaps I’ll see you along the way.
Loved the series last year Elena and this year has been just great too. Looking forward to another period in front of the computer dot watching you guys inspire so many. Quick question, any major changes to foot care, socks, shoes etc.. compared to what, by all accounts was a positive experience last year? All the very best for the race, take care out there.
Thanks so much for watching and for your support! Makes a big difference knowing people are dot-watching 😀I’m making a few changes following lessons from last year + things I’ve learned since. Main thing will be starting in wider shoes and using trench cream. Aiming to get a video out soon about my kit and nutrition so will cover other changes in that too 😀
@@elenaoutdoors Thanks ❤️ Keep up the good work, as somebody else commented, you strike a perfect balance between great views and nice, informative chat. I'll steal your trick with the food in zip lock bags 🙂
Fantastic and helpful video Eleana... the tip about the glove I'll sure do. Those hallucinations I had the exact same coming down from Aconcagua ! Looking forward to more informative and balanced 😢/😊 videos. M 🇮🇪
Thanks for another great film Elena. Training hasn't gone at all well for me, so I'm wondering whether to start the race or not 😥 You're right about kids and sleep, I'm nearly 59 with a 9yr old, that's a bloody endurance event every day. 🤦♂😂
Thanks for watching Ian, and sorry to read training hasn’t been going to plan. Hope you get to enjoy the trails no matter what decision you come to in January. I can only imagine the endurance needed for parenting!!
Thanks Elena, it's certainly a tough decision. I've booked accom but it's fully refundable up to 3 days before check in. I have entered the SDW100 in June as well, as I live in Winchester. I'll let you know what I decide but it's a long trip for a DNF!
Thank you for another excellent recce video 😊 I did this stretch at the weekend and the wind was fierce! Quite an effort to stay upright for a lot of it 😂 Can I ask how much you think you’ll actually use your poles on the very technical bits? I found I really needed them especially on the slippery downhills but in the crazy wind they were almost a hindrance 😬
Thanks for watching 😀well done for getting that section done in such horrid weather! Good point re poles! I also find them to be a hinderance in strong wind! I’ll probably wait until the second half to use them and keep them for bits like zennor steps and the bitches. I’ll keep them stowed away on the exposed bits if it’s really windy. A lot of people don’t use them at all because they’re a pain on narrow paths.
@@elenaoutdoors yes I was thinking a similar approach with the poles. I will definitely need them to keep pushing forward towards the end! Though a lot will probably depend on the conditions on the day 😬🤷🏻♀️ only 3 weeks to go now! Eek!
Thanks for another informative video and remember most of it from my recce. See you are in inov8 so can I ask which ones and how did you find them in the mud ?
Thanks for watching 😀They’re roclite G 275s and I found them to be good in the mud and better than my saucony peregrine STs on wet rock. I’ve only done 50 miles or so in them so still getting to know them but they,re lovely and roomy in the toe box. They’re not as cushioned as my saucony exodus ultras though. I think it’s going to be hard to pick a shoe!

Are you doing the Arc 100 again in 2025 Elana..? Thought you'd be posting an amazing vlog of 2024, I'm signed up for 2025 🇮🇪 best of luck again

I’ve been using Salomon Thundercross but not convinced about sliding in mud and do not get on with Saucony Xodus Ultra
Well you cant get better scenery than that makes me nervous watching thise cliff edges 🙈
Don’t worry, the edges look worse on camera than they do in real life 😊But yes, we’re spoiled for views here! Thanks for watching! 😀
