  • On New Year's Eve I ran the 37-mile West Devon Way, from Okehampton to Plymouth, to test out my kit in the pouring rain before the Arc of Attrition 100-miler. Apologies for the ropey audio in the intro but it's better after that. It turns out that rain interferes with the microphone! I probably need to treat myself to a media mod for my GoPro 😊
    Thanks for watching!

Excellent little adventure well put together. PS water in the dark, scary stuff. Nearly came a cropper on a path by another river in similar conditions. Wasn't until I was waist deep and caught siight of a fish in the headtorch that I realised I was off route............

Thanks Jonathan! That would have spooked me but I imagine the fish was pretty surprised too!

Awesome! You chose perfect conditions for a kit check! It looks like a lovely route even in the rain. My kind of run. Glad you didn't need a river crossing! 😬 Heading over to watch you Arc video now! Well done!

    Lovely day for it!
I can't imagine doing 37 miles just as a solo/training run. I think I'd need a 6 month training block leading up to it 😄👍🏻🏃‍♂️
It's a great feeling to complete an entire, named trail like that. Well done.

Just found the channel. Loved the video Elena. Well done on completing the run. Well beyond my current capabilities, although I did get my feet wet last weekend. I would have been worried crossing that bridge. Just subscribed to check out your other videos. Keep up the good work, you are an inspiration even to an old boy like me.

Hi Elena! I'm a recent subscriber too and absolutely love hearing what you have to say and the content that you put out! It's clear to me that you're a person who leaves no stone unturned when it comes to preparation! You did great to complete this run despite all the challenges you faced and that too with a smile on your face. I was in awe watching it. I'm sure you deal with all adversities in life the same way. Awesome job. Well done!

Well done on the run in those conditions, I recently found your Channel as I’ve been dabbling with the idea of entering the arc!! And was wondering if you could share some of you training routes

Thanks John! The Arc is flippin awsome! 😀Would love to hear if you decide to go for it! Is it the type of route - e.g. elevation, terrain etc that you'd find useful?

@@elenaoutdoors I’m going to go for it!! I was just wandering what long routes you have done and where you find all the gpx files for your watch? And what routes you’d recommend to train on around the area as I believe I’m in the same area as you
