    Oh man, I was so excited to see these outtakes, then the snickery, sarcastic narrator came in making fun of him. People get so jealous and threatened by Flynn. Too bad, he was marvelous.

    • @vivienlatham5189

      That sarcastic narrator was Jack Carson. Part of the Warner Bros. Breakdowns was to add occasional narration, making fun of the scene and/or the actors. Just harmless fun. Lighten up. I bet Errol laughed at these bloopers.

    You can tell people were jealous of the guy....all those looped takes to goof on him...one of the most underrated actors of his day that got more out of life than three people.

      +Sam Moss To quote Viveca Lindfors: "He was a brilliant actor and didn't know it. He went f**king and fishing and paid no attention to his talent. He was in his own little beauty box prison and drank himself to death to get out of there. There was no one to point the way." Truer words were never spoken, and the narrator of this video is a sub-cretin.

    • @moss8448
      @moss8448 9 лет назад +5

      He was a talent no doubt about it..he was still around when I was very young and even then as a youngster he was just plain fun to watch on screen and growing older and seeing those films it stood out how he really commanded a scene and you were just drawn to the guy, when we're young we see things with no prejudices just naiveness and as we age those things cling to us but still even today watching those old films is still for lack of a better words ' a treat '.

      +Sam Moss Growing up in the fifties, I never saw a Classic Errol Flynn movie, even in re-release. As a pre-teen, the Errol/Beverly romance was all over the news. In 1975, I finally caught Captain Blood, The Sea Hawk, and The Adventures Of Robin Hood at the local rep house, fully restored and on the big screen with an appreciative audience. I was completely bowled over. Why had I hardly ever heard of this guy, except for later childhood rumors of scandal in his personal life? I read my parents' copy of the unabridged "My Wicked, Wicked Ways," found in a box in their garage, and learned a little more. And I still love Classic Flynn flicks. He was robbed of an Oscar for Robin Hood.

    • @moss8448

      lemorab1 I was fortunate as a kid to have a local tv station that would show movies on Sat afternoons called Palmetto Playhouse...spent many a Saturday watching flicks from the 30's 40's & 50's. Saw Captain Blood in the high school auditorium, that school eventually screened most of Errols flicks during my time there...boy was I lucky or what? He was totally under appreciated as an actor in his day and looking back it makes you wonder when you see other actors 'phone 'em in' and receive acclaim. I grew up around folks who'd gone off to WWII and the 'In Like Flynn' thing was bandied about so I think jealousy had a lot to do with him being not taken seriously. Even today you can watch those flicks and see how he really drew your attention and you still feel 'in the moment'...great actor and entertaining as hell.

    • @vivienlatham5189
      @vivienlatham5189 6 лет назад +3

      Actually, the Breakdowns of 1930-something or 1940-something were made for the WB Studio workers. At the end of the year, the Studio would throw a huge banquet for the employees, all the behind-the-scenes office personnel etc. Part of the banquet festivities was to show a 10-15 minute blooper reel of that year's movies. They are great fun. Just look up Breakdowns of 1936, 37, etc on RUclips. You get to see Bogart, Bacall, Cagney, Bette Davis, Flynn, Edward G. Robinson, Claude Rains, Olivia deHavilland, etc flubbing lines, cracking up. A lot of fun!!

      Flynn was a real problem for the FBI. They kept tabs on his activities but the feds got tired of endless reports of orgies drinking and snorting cocaine. FBI agents hated the Flynn assignment since it boiled down to writing about his endless whoring and boozing. And yes they joked that he would take the niece the mom and the grandma.
