What I like and shows your professionalism and detail attention, is that you fix and beautify even the pieces that are behind other panels where eyes wont ever see, and a lesser shop would not do. You guys are top notch!
@@bishopofrustyiron3101 We are all about our builds being "better than factory", so we try to go the extra mile. Yeah the latch plate is pretty weak. However in our next episode of the "Birds of Prey" XA build series, we show the inside of an XC Falcon door, and they made that change and put a similar panel in.
@@MadMaxCars I'm starting to turn a '73 mustang into one just to see how it was originally going to look....shame it's only a 1/25 scale model but it's still going to look the part...just a bit smaller....

So glad you found us and that our videos can be helpful and educational for your project! Happy Birthday from our whole crew here in Seattle, and best of luck with you XA Rebuild! Would love to see how it comes along for you!
Incredible work on these Aussie rust heaps😉 Seriously, these cars back home go for an absolute mint in any condition. You’re giving it life in another place for a long time to come. You should do a Bathurst XB in race trim. Scary fast cars!😎🇦🇺
Thank you for the Kudos! Yeah these hardtops are getting pretty expensive, even for a rusty heap rolling shell. We try and save even the hardest luck cases, like this one here: ruclips.net/video/S-beKLB9Ti8/видео.html A Bathurst XB sounds like an awesome build!!
Awesome, as always! It's great seing those cars getting some love and turning from junk to an Interceptor! Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina!
16:19 Is that an XA GT bonnet next to those two doors? PS: Nice work - and thanks for saving a few more of these coupes. I don't care what the picky purists say, better they come to the states than be left in Oz to be forgotten and rust away. :-)
It is! That is part of the Red Pepper XA GT Clone build / Restoration we are doing, which you can see here: ruclips.net/video/WRvxIWd-l2E/видео.html We do like saving these cars. Most of what we do is stock builds or GT clones like the series above. The ones that get the Mad Max treatment are often the really hard luck cases like this one we literally saved from the tip..... ruclips.net/video/S-beKLB9Ti8/видео.html
Nicely done. Doing a lower rear window panel myself. Totally understand when you have to fabricate certain panels yourself, especially since there are no wrecks out here to rob from. Good that people can see how much time it takes to do the these repairs correctly.
Thank you! Yeah there are a lot of guys out there independently making new panels that are amazing, but still a lot of places that need hand fabrication to replace. It certainly takes a skilled metal guy, and quite a bit of time, to do these cars right.
Man super cool metal work! Awesome video! Amazing how much metal on the old tray was just gone. Did they ever treat the metal during original assembly? Im guessing not?
i remember seeing The Interceptor at The Birdwood Mill in early 90's. No one was around and my buddy and i looked in the twin tanks, they were empty, I looked underneath and it was fitted with a 9" diff with ventilated (rear) discs. I have 3 photos (from the same period at The Birdwood Mill National Motor Museum in Adelaide) happy to email them to anyone. pretty interesting. Nice video! dasbullitt at ya hoo Dot cOM
Yeah the discs make sense as its was a true GT. The empty prop tanks also makes sense. Would LOVE to see those photos. Contact us at www.madmaxcars.com !
How much does it cost to build a complete mad Max car? I wish I had one. Brings back memories. I remember seeing the original movie. Ain't nothing like the apocalypse coming and you getting to ride off with a mad Max and I don't. That sucks
We can absolutely help make that dream come true for you, if you would like to get a build started. Each car we do is a custom build planned out with the individual client to suit them ideally. So cost of the finished car can very quite a bit due to many factors, many of which are based on decisions made by the client such as Engine, Transmission Brakes, etc. Please feel free to contact the team at www.madmaxcars.com for details on the build process, cost etc. They will be glad to help. I hear there is a ready turn key Interceptor / Pursuit Special about to come available in our classifieds so it might be worth a call in advance to see if you can grab it before it goes live. Finished cars do tend to sell very quickly.
@@MadMaxCars I bet. No doubt. the original Bullit Steve McQueen mustang sold for 3.4 million. An original Ford Mad Max would sell about the same I imagine. Those cars are something worth getting for sure. Thanks for the info.
@@ramongallegos4027 That Bullit Mustang was actually an original screen used car, hence the price. A replica would be a small fraction of that, as would a replica Mad Max interceptor. By the same token, if you wanted the one and only remaining Screen used Mad Max Interceptor (from the first 2 films anyway), expect to pay more even than the Bullit car. The dream is possible and price would likely be considerably less than 1/10 of the price of that screen used Mustang. If you want to make that dream come true, feel free to reach out to the guys. www.madmaxcars.com
