    I'm making in charcoal, black to replace maroon and white merino wool blend. I love the burgundy but not sure it would matvh my pastor's taste or colors.

    Love the pattern, you have a pleasant voice. But, please consider making it easier for us older folks to see what you are doing? It is a dark background, dark yarn, and dark hook. I had to not only enlarge the screen but also hold up a magnifying glass to see which stitch. Just a thought. Thanks for a great video though.

    The ends of the scarf always end up uneven for me during the single crochet rows. Is there a different way to do the turning chain? I've attempted this scarf three times and always end up with this result.

    Umm .. may I ask how u finished off the yarn left in joining/changing color? Just take and pull through them to hide in the next closed stitches? Or is there having special technique to hide them? Btw thank you for ur video. I used to crochet single color scarf before seeing this.

    Loved the tailored refined appearance of this so I started it immediately. He chose to go with a color scheme nodding to his Seattle Seahawks...navy being body color. Note to any makers.... NAVY is too dark to do easily with these closely stacked stitches. I'm only on row 11 and not having fun. For dark colors pick a sunny spot. Better choice is to avoid dark colors. Can't see...grrr.

    • @RichTexturesCrochet

      The slip stitches are tight! It will be a labour of love! Lol

    • @d.vaders1178

      I did finish it day before last. He wore it yesterday for Friday Seahawks jersey day at work. Used a bright citron for the wider stripe and white for the thinner accent. It won’t be worn except for football game wear days so I chose cheap acrylic which only added to the grief in making it in the dark color. I’m eager to make this pattern again in wool in more classic refined colors. Thanks for sharing your pattern...it is so hard to find a tailored looking men’s crochet scarf. It does work up quickly despite all the slip stitches. I’m doing your Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Christmas stocking this afternoon to eat up some stash. Thanks again.

      Consider getting a portable battery neck light that can be adjusted both with the light and the light ends can be positioned towards your project or book for reading. Several versions available on Amazon.

    Is a single strand of Red Heart worsted weight (4) yarn heavy enough for a men’s neck scarf? And will a 6 mm hook work if I want to use a double strand?

    • @synn6810
      @synn6810 4 года назад +2

      Lynne Wallace worsted weight is perfect for scarves! But if you’re doubling the working strand then you should use a higher gage for the hook; probably a 7.5 or 8.

      The Patons wools by Yarnspirations, wool ease worsted by Lion Brand or Heartland (acrylic) would work. I’m not as familiar though with what loops and threads or Hobby Lobby

    I have no idea what I'm doing wrong besides maybe stitching too tight but my single crochets are almost impossible to get into on that angle. I'm taking so much time trying to get into the stitches. I've started over twice. Ugh

      Hi! If you’re finding that you’re stitches are too tight you may try going up in hook size. It will loosen the stitches for you :)

    Wouldn’t it be a good idea to do a full SC in the beginning and last stitch of each row?

    • @RichTexturesCrochet
      @RichTexturesCrochet  2 года назад +1

      You could if desired, however because the sc is taller it may cause the ends to flare out a bit

  • @usatoaus

    How do you block a scarf?

    • @RichTexturesCrochet
      @RichTexturesCrochet  5 лет назад

      The same way you would a blanket - and it would depend on the fibre used - for a wet block, dampen the scarf, and lay out evening/straightening the edges, pin and allow to dry.

  • @ayakashlan334
    @ayakashlan334 4 года назад

    Is the skill level also easy for beginners?
    I wanna try making it for my boyfriend and it’ll be my first crocheted scarf if it’s realistic enough :)

    • @RichTexturesCrochet
      @RichTexturesCrochet  4 года назад +1

      Yes, good for beginners. The most challenging part is that there are a lot of slip stitches which can be fighters and harder to work into. If you are struggling with the slip stitches I would recommend trying to crochet a little looser or use a slightly larger hook size :)

    • @ayakashlan334
      @ayakashlan334 4 года назад +3
