    I made this scarf for my ex husband when he was diagnosed with cancer it was in the winter time and his doctor told him he needed a scarf to wear around his heck so I found this one on you tube and I was a beginner and it turned out great he loved it but sadly he only got to wear it for about two months and he pass away my son said he was going to keep it because his dad was so proud that I made it for him 🥲❤️

    I came back to say how much I love the final outcome of this project! I used a medium weight super soft yarn and made mine narrower but it's absolutely gorgeous! Your instructions were wonderful and I can't thank you enough!

    I made a few of these for men I used darker colors like black and different blues... also I did a black with a ombre grey... they all came out very nice. The men are very tall 6'3" or so so I made them 72-75 inches. I did need 2 bundles of each color because they were extra long. This pattern is very easy and I like not having to count stitches. Definitely recommend. I do not add tassels for it but I think it would go good too.

    • @irenehermosillo8629

      Excuse me for asking but how many stitches did you make for the length?
      My man is 6 3 also and I don't have any idea of how many will I need.
      Thanks very much appreciated

    Thank you, Jennifer and Fiber Flux, for this tutorial! It's another great (and simple) one. I just finished this scarf and it turned out beautifully! I used Lion Brand Vanna's Choice yarn medium weight 4, instead of a chunky/bulky weight, because that's what I had, and I couldn't be more pleased. I used a little over 1 skein of each color, Dusty Blue (instead of gray) and Taupe (instead of red/rust), for a 70-inch scarf. Each skein is 170 yards. Even though my yarn called for a 6mm hook, I used the 6.5mm as Fiber Flux recommended for the pattern and it turned out fabulous. The feel of this scarf is very soft and thick. I highly recommend this tutorial and pattern. Thanks again, Jennifer and Fiber Flux!

      did u used 2 double string for the yarn or only 1?

    • @susiehomemakersmith6789
      @susiehomemakersmith6789 8 лет назад +1

      +ying1985 Hi! I only used one strand. I don't know if you've used Vanna's Choice yarn but it is pretty lofty. It's always on sale at my craft stores and it has a much softer feel than. say. Red Heart Super Saver . The way the scarf is constructed, it becomes thick on it's own (with the BPDC). The only place I think the thinner yarn affected the overall pattern was that the scarf wasn't as wide after 10 rows as the one in the video. However, I preferred it slightly thinner so that was fine for me. I hope that helps!

      +Susiehomemaker Smith thanx so much for your help , I usually don't buy bulky yarn I feel more comfortable working with yarn (4) and some of the projects i skip them bc I don't have that same yarn but thanx for your help

    Great tutorial. Simple, clear and easy instructions (I'm a novice and addicted). I used a 6 mm hook because I didn't use a bulky yarn. It's a little tough when starting the back post stitch, but I found if I turned the project slightly (top view), it was easier to see and bring the yarn through the back for the three loops. Thank you for sharing.

Now I have to go find a video of how to weave in the ends as you go. Wish you had demonstrated it here.

    If you start your scarf with grey and then change to red, the grey will be the dominant color, and the red will be the accent color as you see in the sample. To make the scarf the same way as the one in the video you need to star with red. Do the chain and first row in red and then switch to grey.

    My scarf is different at the end, than the beginning. I feel I need to do a dc to finish off the colors. As the color at the end is different to the beginning.

    Do you have a matching hat pattern? Love this scarf, ready to make it next weekend and I'd love a hat to go with it. I'm a beginner crocheter so any help is appreciated.

    I think I might leave my ends quite long, then incorporate them into a fringe. Would that work?
