I bought a 2012 Expedition King Ranch EL in mint condition, with only 39k miles back in October, for $23k out the door. People are insane for buying these high dollar late model Expeditions with 6 cylinder turbos. Mine may not be new nor have the technology, but it's paid for.
I have a 2016 f150 with the 3.5 ecoboost, it currently has 217k miles on her. Drives amazingly. You take care of your shit it’ll last. These ecoboost have been around for awhile now and they’ve fixed all the problems. Especially in the 3.5.
The little mat falling out of the tray has me in tears 😂 and the improv to along with it from Joe. I swear Joe could be Hollywood comedy actor but, he is doing gods work and bringing us average Joes (no pun intended 😂) the informative car reviews we need. Keep up the great work Joe and team!
Was able to drive one for a business trip in Rhode Island, I had a whole week with it and it was a great experience! To bad about that sticker price 😂 I’ll stick to my 17 LTZ Silverado lol
I’m am not sold on this particular trim for 85,000$ i understand that ford is trying to sell performance and technology but they have bad quality in technology for the price and V6 turbos with that type of power won’t last 8 years. This truck is priced 20,000 over what it should be.
We just got a 23 Limited with the big screen and towing package regular size and it is great! The Platinum nice but quite a bit more $$$ for not much useful features over ours.
Beautiful, comfortable, fast. We asked for a compact rental on a trip to Texas recently, and apparently the Excursion is a Texas compact 😄 A pure joy to drive and ride in.
I think Ford has done a great job on this car this year it looks very impressive I like the more substantial wheels on it I like this car better than a Chevy any thing Another great video Joe
2 things I want to change in this one is the engine. A large suv like this should at least have a V8 as an option. The second thing is that vertical infotainment system is really ugly. It sticks out and doesn’t flow with the interior
I drove both Sub and Expy and noticed Expy was much faster and has better break. I didn't like the interior of Suburban, so outdated. I couldn't be happier with my Expy limited max.
Definitely leaning Expedition at this point. It would be my fourth Ford, but the Tahoe/Yukon can’t be counted out yet. Thanks for the great review. I always need to know how many chicken bakes I can keep on hand.
Great Review as Always Joe. I still think I like the GM (Chevy, GMC, Caddy) products better, but this Ford is a great leap forward with the 6 Eco Turbo, etc. Loved your references to "12 Inches" and "Balls", ha ha ha LOL.
I wonder if Ford going to do EV Expedition based off Ford Lightning truck? Good market for large 3 row EV! If Ford can make it cheaper than Tesla Model X and Rivian R1S should do well! However Ford needs to work on making lightweight EV probably weight 5 tons!!
Drove an expedition max 2023 in Florida couple days ago for 5 days we were there the expedition max definitely fit 8 people very comfortably with bench seats one thing I did notice the expedition doesn’t have the hold feature so I could take my foot off the breaks during traffic.
Joe, I totally agree with you on the EV thing, BUT, 'hear' me out! I think Ford should have made the 5.0 an option on the Expedition, along with the Ecoboost V6, what do you think?
Joe, this model does not have the stealth performance engine, it’s rated at 400 horsepower not 440. It also doesn’t have the heavy duty tow package and is rated at 6000lb.
Haha I don't know why he's comparing it to the Denali or the Tahoe....... I would compare it to the past expedition of which I have!!!! I actually loved the navigator of which my aunt used to have one!! Very roomy and comfortable for both driver and passenger!!!
Expedition is not a luxury SUV. It's mainstream commodity SUV. Lincoln is the Luxury SUV. Platinum Expedition has premium appointments but still a mainstream offering. Older Expedition has better center IP screen integration, looks after thoughty. Hard plastic lower door panels signifies mainstream as opposed to premium. Now covered cupholders definitely signifies luxury.
I wish they would bring back the excursion because it’s the best of both worlds. You’re able to pull almost anything you need, but also get the functionality of an suv with a diesel option.
Not a fan of moving climate control functions and things like heated seat controls and defrosters to a giant screen. Buttons and knobs are superior for getting things done quickly.
the twin turbos are only that much better in high altitude... zero to 60 will be pretty much the same as the 6.2 tahoe as the turbos take a bit to ramp up.. but anyone who works on their own cars/trucks knows turbos are a nightmare once they go bad lol and imagine two of them going bad how expensive it will be to repair.. i'll take the tahoe all day I just wish the tahoe's infotainment screen was bigger and more updated but you can't have it all it seems... i'll wait for a refresh on the tahoe interior and infotainment system to buy it i've been wanting one for a while now..
Wayyyy too expensive. I’d much rather get a Tahoe RST 6.2 for $75k and save nearly $20k over this. Can even get a 2 year old CPO Navigator black label for $10k less than this. Insane
We don’t talk about seat belt pocket sticking out from the ceiling in the third row? This is deal breaker for me and surprised to see no one talks about it

Ford Expedition sales are up 73% compared to last year. This Expedition is nice! However, ford still lags chevy tahoe in sales, but not by much!

Drove one of these recently for a long road trip. Very comfortable ride and averaged a little over 20 mpg overall...mostly highway though.

It has auto hold, it has the option of turning it off in the driver assistance menu. Someone must have turned it off
It does and I turned ours off also. Annoying feature if you are trying to creap forward some. Coming into a garage for example

Quick question. I need at least a 6000 lb vehicle for IRS 2023 writeoff rules. You just said this weighs 5000 lbs. I thought it weighed 7,200 lbs.
