Hi Greg. I remembered this video and once mentioned I would love a Fuji camera; there is something about the retro look and the analogue feel. However, years ago I committed to Nikon and it carried on. I'm not disappointed I like them but can't justify buying a Fuji. I visited my son this Saturday. He bought a camera in 2013 and used it once on a holiday, then put it away. He asked me if I was interested in it as otherwise he would put it in the garage. It turned out to be a Fujifilm X100 . I rescued it. Works a treat, looks great and the Nikon's aren't jealous, so win win. Got me Fuji at last.
I flinched seeing you forcing that switch, but often that is all that it takes, and good on you for getting the results. I take a lot of photos at around 50mm equivalent, but it is often good to have the options of wider angle or some telephoto. For a long time I used a Ricoh 35mm with a 50mm and a 135mm lens and a 2x converter, and got quite good shots of all kinds of things, apart from everyone at the church Christmas social. I do think you needed some WD 40, though.
Good thing I didn't use my hammer! Yeah WD40... nah. Too much electronics below the shutter button. One day I might get real adventurous and take the top plate off...
I really appreciate your efforts! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Hi Greg! Great video. I found this trying to find ways to fix my X100S camera. After a bushwalk - where it might got some pressure on it or something, I am not sure - I could not use it anymore. When I turn it on, the viewfinder only goes grey, and I can’t take any photos. Can’t turn it of again either. Do you by any chance have any idea what I can do with it? Cheers mate
So many things could be the issue... best bet is to get it checked over by a camera mechanic. Start with Fujifilm themselves first. Then figure out if the cost is worth it, compared to replacing with a working camera.
Hello, how are you? I hope you’re doing well. I acquired a Fujifilm X100S, but it has a problem that no store here in Brazil can fix due to a lack of parts, and it seems that no one understands what is wrong with the camera. Basically, it turns on but the lens doesn’t open, and after a few seconds, it turns off. It always starts on the initial language menu and then goes blank. It also doesn’t turn on immediately when it turns off; it takes some time to turn back on, and sometimes when it does turn on, the screen flickers a bit. Have you ever seen this problem before? Could you recommend any help? Maybe replacing the motherboard? Do you have that part? Please help me; I don’t know who else to turn to in this case.
Get it done properly by sending it back to Fujifilm. Otherwise, accept the loss and get another second hand X100 series. THere are thousands of them out there, and sometimes what you have just isn't worth the money to fix.

Great stuff :) You'll enjoy that. Mine died again, but I do have other Fujis to play with
Good result Greg. I like it when you clean something up and it works. 😊
I'll see if I can get rid of all the corrosion as well.
X100 ‘presentation box’ was a beaut; wish they'd bring it back... The cardboard box my X100V came in doesn't impress, Fuji.
Especially with what you pay for one....

@@GregCarrick I wouldn't really, but you know how it is: if you can't fix it with a self-tapper or the arc, you use WD 40.
Hi do you have any experience in fixing the x100f? I have a sticky aperture blades problem but couldnt find any info online.

I love my V, mate. Shits over my old X100S.
